I'm back from Alanya two weeks ago and as a couple we booked apartment. This was a fabulous choose for us. In Alanya bus ticket per person was 11.25TRL in one way. Independent which beach are you choose, for two sunbeds and umbrella price was between 50 to 75TRL. Taxi was always with meters and was not very expensive, one minus was the drivers don't know English and we have problems with told them when we want to go, but always is some bigger shop or area which they know. We lived near to Metro shop in Alanya. BTW , great for shopping. we love Turkey and we will back in next year. The weather was amazing 🤩 hot hot hot and sunny ☀️☀️☀️

Good informative video! One thing missing was the possibility of using intercity busses which is less expensive than rental cars and less stressful once you find the terminal and buy the tickets (knowing a little Turkish helps). In June 2022, I took a bus from Izmir to Cesme for 50 TL (about 3 USD) one way.

I lived in Istanbul for a total of 9 years over the period 2000-2019, but life in Turkey got steadily worse for both locals and foreigners during those years. Lower salaries, higher prices, worse economy, more and more traffic, and stricter and stricter rules for residence permits for Europeans (originally, leaving the country every 90 days and coming back was enough) Istanbul is not at all the city it used to be, and I have moved on. So glad I lived and travelled there 20-22 years ago!

@@mariawerner8447 Ms. Werner, tensions are rising all over the world as you may know.In addition to that, it has to be difficult to settle in Turkey because you know, 5 million people entered the country in 10 years and this increased the real estate prices and lowered the labour cost.

I got back from Turkey, the taxis were great from Istanbul, we had Turkish Lira and we only paid 400 TL to our hotel by Bosphorous. Cappadocia was amazing but disappointed that Hot Air balloon was $280 per person! We decided to just watch and it was fine, we also stayed in Antalya but got scammed by Host of Airbnb as we did not stay at the place we booked. We went to Kas and had a great time. All in all I liked the country side than Istanbul. It was crazy traffic and too many people.

In June 2022, we paid USD 160 per person for a balloon ride in Cappadocia. I know others who have paid USD 180-200. Strange that they asked so much more in your case.
