Hi Olga and Rene. I am an avid follower of your videos in Turkey and I love them for the following two reasons. Firstly because of the excellent and colourful photography and secondly because of the most uptodate information about matters that are of interest to Tourists but most of all for those of us that are contemplating a move or retirement in Turkey. The contents from the majority of TH-cam producers by and large are somewhat similar, some are better than others and you come in this category. I would imagine that your aim to produce these videos is to showcase this city and all it has to offer ie Beauty,Weather,Beaches,Mountains,Food,Real Estate etc.etc… You continually do an amazing job,and we all thank you for that.
    What would be of interest,and unfortunately lacking,are videos based on a visit,as an example,to a Dentist Surgery,a Doctor,a Hospital,a Government Department etc.
A lot of foreign people would normally ask questions like : Are the Dentists surgery clean? What about the Hospitals etc…these are very important issues that could sway people one way or another.
This is my personal issue and I’m sure that there are many others that would be in a similar situation which I would love to find out and that is: If you decide to retire in Turkey on your own and live by yourself and at some stage you can no longer look after yourself and need help on a permanent basis, who can provide this help and what are the current costs involved. This type of information is crucial prior to the decision to relocate. I know this request maybe a big ask and perhaps out of the idea of producing your videos, however, invaluable information regarding what and where to get help when this situation arises.
Looking forward reading your thoughts on my comments.

Hi Alex! Thank you for the kind words and for taking time to give good content ideas 👍 Unfortunately it’s not possible to film in some locations (like hospitals or government office, for example), even at shopping malls I do it discreetly so guards/shopping assistants don’t notice ☺️ But I will do a LIVE on TH-cam this Saturday where I will try to answer some of your and other subscribers questions, that I didn’t cover in my videos. If it goes well, I will do a Live Q&A more often.

I do understand the difficulty that you may encounter to take permission to enter these premises and take videos.
What they don’t understand is the fact that by showcasing their premises it can actually have a positive result not just for their businesses, but a lot of others if one decides to move to that particular city.
Recently I watched a video produced by this American guy that showcased a Dental Clinic in Thailand that blew my mind of the cleanliness, the up to date equipment the expertise and the affordability that made me think that it’s a clinic where I should consider getting my teeth done if need be.
The respective authorities should be more aware of the ultimate gains to the city if people become confident that the various essential services are of high standards.

Thanks again Olga for the honest and comprehensive insights and tour, very much appreciated. Do you have a sense for apartment availability now? I see some attractive apartments for what appears to be reasonable prices, but the seem to always be the same places so I'm wondering if they are just to get people to inquire.
Also, I was wondering how rental/property management companies and landlords might be to deal with, as in America now, most rental companies seem to be pretty brutal, greedy and often cruel or dishonest.
    Cheers!

Oh the prices I was seeing in the video are much better than what we have in Batumi Georgia. So you are paying half the price for groceries there. In Batumi, minimum grocery cost per month per person is 250 euros. In Turkey, I used to pay only 100 euros per month for the same amount of groceries.

    • @OlgaProGoingPlaces
      @OlgaProGoingPlaces  ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Hello Olga and Renee!
I find your videos both informative and high quality.
I have made the decision to move from California to Antalya in October. I am excited and a bit nervous! Your videos help with the anxiety and I look forward to more videos.
I am a 32 year old male and have lived in California my entire life. I have considered Bodrum, Alanya and Fethiye but I am a bit hesitant about living in those places year round. I have never been to Turkey and plan on renting for a year before I purchase a place. So far my research has indicated that Konyaalti is probably the best place for me. But I would love to hear any suggestions you might have. Obviously each place with have its pros and cons but I would like to find a place that resonates with me.

Last year, Turkcell SIM was 250 lira (depending on which shop you go to, it can be cheaper). Then some time later, it became 300 lira. And finally, a few months ago, it was 400 lira with poor explanation by impatient & rude sales guys about what's included. And seems that I have to pay extra to make overseas phone calls. I gave up going into a Turkcell shop to ask. 400 lira is a crazy price for a SIM card. And it lasts only 3 months? After that, we have to expensively register our foreign phones to continue using it. Since arriving, I never bought a SIM card, especially after reading so many negative reviews about how to top up etc...

Hi Monika, I heard about this restaurant g.page/levelantalya, but never been there myself. At the big chain restaurants there are always at least some vegetarian options (I mentioned restaurants here th-cam.com/video/sZilz_S86fw/w-d-xo.html), but I can't say which restaurant is better.

Hey guys, thanks for such a detailed information provided🤲😊
Will you, please, evolve on the real estate prices topic in some of your next videos?.. Especially, the prices on long-term renting.
The thing is that we were planning to relocate to Antalya from the UK back at the end of 2021, but then the rent prices started going up just insanely, you know, and... here we have it: they are now indeed crazily high, at least if judging by Sahibinden website 😶 😞 i.e. 20,000-25,000 Turkish lira per month for a small 1-bedroom flat now is the average price tag for a long-term rent🤷‍♂️ I mean, seriously?..😶 From around 3-4,000 a year ago to 25,000?
That's roughly at least 1,000 pounds a month, and higher, which almost equals the rent prices of... London! 🤪
If you're aware of any relevant information on the above topic or have your own opinion/vision on that, i.e. will the prices continue skyrocketing or will they finally start going back down to normal, then, please please, share your thought on that in your next videos. Trust me, that's a very sensitive topic now for many Northern Europeans who once used to dream of relocating to such a beautiful place like Antalya 🙏😊

Antalya is one of the hot spots right now. Rents may fluctuate.but if you want to own a flat there, it's always better to act earlier.

Is there organic produce/food there? How much variety is there at the markets, grocery stores, and restaurants? If so, how much more expensive is it? I LOVE your videos - thank you so much! I would love to move there, to Antalya, but I'm not sure I have enough. I'm ok with an unfurnished studio or one bedroom that is without a swimming pool! I may want to consult with you about moving there. Do you have a consultation fee? Thanks again!! (I'm from California, my name is Katy, and my childhood - age 2 to 4, 1962-1966 - I lived in Germany!)

Hi Olga, when your Residence Permit was approved, did Immigration give you exactly a full year of residence? Or did they deduct a few days (so it's less than a year from the start of the residence permit)?

    Hi Olga,
could you please give us updated information regarding the maximum cash that we could bring to Turkey in 2022 during TRY Crisis?
I searched and many articles gave different informations.
Some say maximum equally USD 5,000
and some say maximum only TRY 25,000.
    Thanks before 🙏🏻

Check out a TH-cam video by a guy called Aladdin (property agent) on Straight Talk. He did one episode where he talks to a lawyer (?) who says there is no restriction on the amount of cash anyone brings into Turkey. You can bring in 1 million & nobody cares. The only restriction is from your departing country (how much you can bring out).

even with traveling to other cities in Turkey once a month we have never spent more than 2-3k in a month. Also never felt we needed a car, renting was very easy and public transport is good. Also not crowded, I showed around the neighbourhood here th-cam.com/video/LyshAyuUNV4/w-d-xo.html
