Thanks! Just mixing it up
That was awesome brother
Thanks brother! Recorded another cool one over the weekend. Can’t wait to share!
@@CurrentAngling heck yes ca traits to see it
Im too scared that I would get lost or have an emergency situation to fish at night... but it looks like you did good
Yeah I used to do it much more. Always fun! I catch bigger fish away from the lights but quantity under them
My fishing plans got derailed here in TN and was just trying to figure out if you could night fish in SC. I'll likely be headed to Beaufort area since I've at least been there once. Never caught a red and thought I may try to change that.
Yes you definitely can! However I would recommend getting a lay of the land in the day time and being familiar with currents etc. before venturing in the dark. Good luck!
Great content every time! This may be a dumb question, but why use braid over mono fishing in skinny water?
I exclusively use braid with a fluorocarbon leader on all my rods. It’s just extremely tough for it’s diameter so I can get more on the reel and casts well. I also like how responsive it is because it doesn’t have stretch. Flouro has superior abrasion resistance so helps when in contact with oysters or scaly fish.
Hey Cory, love your videos. I'm a subscriber. Hey quick question. I guess it's legal in SC to operate a kayak at night. I didn't think it would be legal since kayaks don't have lights. Anyway me and a buddy are coming down to Charleston March 25-27 to do some kayak fishing. Looking forward to it. He's never done any inshore fishing like this so I told him to watch your videos to get some good instruction. Thanks for what you do.
Hey thanks for watching and recommending my videos man! I don’t recommend fishing at night unless you are super familiar inshore and with the water ways. However, it is legal with a white light. A 360 light attached to a pole on back of kayak is all you need. Also a headlamp.
What your opinion of the newer electric powered kayaks, specially the old Town Auto pilot series?
For me there is a balance I try to achieve between portability and function. With my current setup I can easily load and launch or wheel around and launch. After I’m done it’s just a simple hose down. I’m not super familiar with the old town auto pilot series. Keep a few things in mind with electric kayaks; added weight and set up time, needs to be registered as a boat, many kayak tournaments won’t allow non human propulsion, cost.
I personally find the hobie drive fins to be really powerful keeping my in place or getting me around easily. They are also light and robust.
what year and model is your kayak?
2017 Hobie Outback, upgraded rudder, and 180 turbo fins.
I want to do the same thing but I am afraid someone will see the lights in the water and shoot me
I never thought about that but did think about the resident 12’ gator lol
@@CurrentAngling tricky tricky
Do you go to the ashley river and fish? My wife and I try so hard but we haven't had any luck yet! I'm watching all your videos and trying the same lures, but my boats too big to get up in the shallow areas
@2twh53 I rarely fish the Ashley anymore. Plenty of fish there but I prefer other areas. Do you have a trolling motor on the boat?
@CurrentAngling No I have to drift or anchor unfortunately 😕.
