Dear brother, thanks for the explanation. I think an explanation that the Spirit is not just an Invisible Animating Energy would have enhanced this teaching. The Spirit is a "Person" who acts and wills just as the Father and Son acts and wills. Three Persons, One Essence. One could easily interpret this in light of Eastern/Pantheistic mysticism (impersonal) vs. Our Teacher, Our Helper, etc. (personal).
I liked, the only thing I would like to mention the earth is older than the sun, the bible says the earth exists since Genesis 1:1, and the sun was created on the fourth day
Great teaching point. God can take the chaos of your life and order it... However, the chaos of your life is not the same as the creation account. The chaos of your life is from the curse of sin. Genesis 1:1 is not a cursed world. "Unformed and Unfilled" does not mean "destroyed" in this context. I don't feel we need to take the Bible out of context in order to teach the principle that is being taught (God can bring order out of chaos). "Unformed and Unfilled" in Gen 1 is speaking of the creation process. God created the Heavens and the Earth then He fashioned or formed them into the completed creation over a 7-day period. Saying that Gen 1:1 is not really referring to "the beginning" is a serious theological problem because now we have animal death before humanity sinned. Now death is not the result of the Curse but instead a Creation of God. Now we have to question why Christ died on the cross to pay the penalty of "sin" which is "death". We would also have to question the future "paradise" that God has prepared and assume that "death" will be part of the future even though scripture teaches there will be no more death. The Hebrew Bible teaches a plain six-day creation. The main point of the sermon could be made using the proper illustration of God bringing order to a sin-cursed world through His Son Jesus Christ. creationtoday.org/on-demand-classes/does-the-hebrew-bible-teach-6-day-creation/
