Very nice build, looks awesome. I watched your other videos of upgrading Heng Long 1/16 scale tanks. My question is how come companies like Heng Long take the pain to produce very nice and mechanically strong tanks with awesome electronics and functions but don't seem to put much effort in their paint jobs as the stock paint jobs in their tanks always look off. is there an explanation for this?
Yes there is. The hl tanks are designed to be as cheap and fast to make / paint as possible and to have a good paint job you need to have each one hand painted by an artist which takes time and adds to the cost. The way these rtr models are made is with a giant spray booth and a stencil so every tank comes out the same in one pass. Also since many ppl rebuild and repaint these models having them nicely painted from the start is also pointless and a simple cheap paint job is preferred. When you try to have a nice paint job on mass it never really turns out that great they look a little better like on the taigens but they will never be as good as when a good model builder paints and finishes the model themselves.
I don’t have any plans to build one at this time and I currently don’t have the kit in the stash but it was always one that I wanted to get. Perhaps will pick one up at some point
Liking the moulding and casting of the tracks - brilliant stuff. Really like the rotating cupola, as well. Another nicely built kit.

@@oddball759mm Oh I see. That makes sense. Thanks.
Do you plan to build the Tamiya 1/35 motorized mark iv tank in future?
