I'm sad now. I just kicked out my roommate and and this story reminds me of him. He's a terrible person that idolizes Jay and Silent Bob along with Beavis and Butthead. I mean, he models his life after them. He would love this book.
Allen Babylon Drop the watcher knowledge bomb that those characters were created (especially Beavis and Butthead) to be mocked. Silent Bob is still a total G though.
Its such a shame that a channel that has this much content and is funny and engaging....doesn't have more than 100,000 subs....it's more professional looking than half of the shit i see on here
Hey comicpop I'm going to be gone for two weeks and be missing your show. But on the brighter side could you do a back issues on annihilation or daredevil man without fear. Also thanks for introducing me to old man logan I loved your review so much I bought a copy of it. Ulton 8 and sheriff strange will always be remembered in my heart.
i remember this ant-man from secret invasion. Everytime he came on i found it to be hilarious how he dealt with the situations. Like how he ran or hid from major fights. Hearing this complete story im sitting here trying to contain my laughter at work finding out about the plot. To be honest i think a lot of people would do the same things eric does if they had the power to be that small XD
This whole book is pretty funny. It's no different than any other show or movie about terrible people. Like Seinfeld, Friends, Breaking Bad, Weeds, Orange is the new Black, Californication, Scrubs, Dexter... Sex and the City.
But really, why did they keep trying to solidify the fact that he hit his wife? What's the literary benefit of such a character? And then he went on to create Ultron, he is like the character most hated by the editorial in Marvel or something.
Blaze Espiritu Well, that movie isn't even based on the original Antman, Hank Pym the wife beating, creator of Ultron. Ultron is now created by Stark, his wife isn't even around and the Antman is Scott Lang. Which further shows how much Marvel hates him.
GuyWithAnAmazingHat If I worked for Marvel I would ask to write an Hank Pym Ant Man book called "The Redeemable Ant Man". It would be about Hank Pym trying to be a hero again like when he first started to try and make up for what he did. But Marvel probably wouldnt let me make it.
Hank Pym Is my Favorite Marvel Character and I'm excited for the film and I wanted you all to know my reasoning for Hank Pym's Redeeming Factor, his mind. Not His ego, which could be compared to Kanye. But he is "The Scientist Supreme" and when you're one of the smartest men ever, you created artificial intelligence which created another artificial intelligence, AND YOUR ONLY FRIENDS ARE ANTS AND BEES, I can understand why you would go insane, just like he did. "Jim Shooter, writer of Avengers #213, addressed the matter and stated, "Hank Pym was NOT a Wife-Beater"." He was under a lot of pressure and some alcoholic weirdo with a duracell in his chest is making him his "Sidekick" or "Ol' Chum", you would be mad because he was second fiddle. I'm NOT condoning domestic abuse, I only think he was a little angry when he became a Psychotic Bee man and it was the "He had to take his anger out on someone" cliché and sadly it had to be his wife Janet. But I do not represent the Ultimate Universe Hank Pym because he is just a douche. Sorry if I went of on a tangent. I just love Hank Pym as a character and I love this Channel. Keep up the AMAZING Work and I can't wait for the new episode each week day. Thanks So Much if any one was sane enough to read this all and reply to me if you agree or disagree, I'm open to a discussion! And Thank You So Much ComicPOP! for making each one of my days better!
A Kanye comparison doesn't make him come off as more favorable, just because your ego is huge however deserved it might be can't be a justification for being an a-hole much less actual violence if anything it makes u more responsible if u are uber intelligent and talented or "sigh" with great power ...
Howard Roark I mentioned Kanye only for the relation the they are both egotistical douches. I did not mean to relate him to Kanye on the aspect of violence.
+Thomas Shockley Hank Pym is actually my favourite marvel character. However domestic abuse is very bad. He's more than that though. He also went insane because the Pym particles affected his mind. Pym is also intresting because he wants to atone for his sins. He created a house were people can find help if they're abused. In contrary to Reed where they just forgot it ever happened.
Sal Nick Fury wants you for SHIELD!! Your extensive knowledge of the Marvel Universe and the events that have happened in the Marvel Universe has made you a prime recruit for SHIELD!
Ehhhhhhhhhh I've definitely been on dates that we'rent going well then someone says "you just want to go to my place?". Then you have sex and never see each other again.
The current run of Ant-Man written by Nick Spencer is continuing after Secret Wars with the same creative team. That book is awesome. Also, for more good Scott Lang stories, he led the Fantastic Four for a bit in Matt Fraction's run and he was badass. He actually figures out how Pym Particles work even better than Pym himself and is able to augment his strength while small, and also a lot more stuff. All of the Ant-Men are good characters in different ways. I think the reason they chose not to fix that Pym hit Janet was to kind of reinforce just how detrimental it can be to have his disorder. Slott even went as far as stating for a fact after Secret Invasion that Pym was not a Skrull when he hit Janet and that he still holds onto that shame of his mistake in Avengers: The Initiative. Ant-Man is another hero that I find myself trying to defend to others. I don't know why I am attracted to underrated characters like Ant-Man, Taskmaster, Booster Gold and so on... I just am. It is not a hipster thing, because I do try to show why they are so awesome to as many people as I can! THEY ARE GOOD CHARACTERS OKAY?!?!? ;-) Good episode ComicPOP! I really wasn't expecting you guys to do this book in a million years. P.S. O'Grady does get redeemed in Secret Avengers. Like Star-Lord said, he's not 100% a dick. He is only like 98%.
What issue is it revealed that pym is scientist supreme? And is there an issue where he contemplates how mentally stressful that process was? In my head cannon, only someone as stubborn as Pym would become scientist supreme, Reed being a close second. But Reed was held back by his love of his family. Pym, not so much.
I've been getting antsy waiting all day to watch a new episode of Back Issues. Thanks again for the great content, I'm crossing my fingers that a new Comic Line is coming down the ant hill.
8:38 he does shock a woman who is trying to break into shield stuff and steal Hank pym's version of heaven Oh and on pym particles actually after a time of using them your body naturally starts producing them (in 616 and ultimate at least) so literally after a few months you're good to go. Which is something i wish mcu kept because it'd be awesome to see Micheal Douglas suddenly grow even if it cut away after he grew a foot or so or pulled a hobbit/Lord of the Rings with prespective tricks .
This was the first comic pop video I ever saw fell in love with the channel, now this is like the third time and we watching all the videos ..... What have you guys done to me
I watched the first Terminator for the first time the other day and all I could think all the way through it was: "am I the only who thinks that Kyle Rheese looks kind of like a blonde Ethan???"
I forgot to say that the Ant-Man comic with Scott Lang will continue after Secret Wars under the title Astonishing Ant-Man, you can see it in the All-New, All-Different Marvel Previews. It also still has the same writer and artist.
I was debating the Hank vs Janet Molly whopping, and my friend says Hank was being mind controlled at the time, so it's ok. I call Bullsh*t, was he mind controlled? An if so that doesn't excuse it right?
Darren Cross who is Yellowjacket in the Ant-Man movie is actually Scott Lang's first enemy in the comics so, it makes sense that he is the villain in the movie. Justin Hammer is Iron Man's villain and, he's in prison with his boyfriend and Trevor Slattery.
Sin's Past: Let's assassinate the character of Gwen Stacy, and make MJ look complicit through secret-keeping. Dark Phoenix: Let's remove Jean Grey's autonomy and turn her into a genocidal monster. Irredeemable Ant-Man: Let's make all female characters hit every stereotype possible. These three episodes (69 - 71) are wonderful, but the books discussed really highlight the poor treatment of female characters over the years without saying it explicitly.
Denchie Dean Thanks. I asked if they made them due to a rumor last year that Marvel wouldnt make any more FF comics due to the movies released and some competition thing and money things and etc.
Read the first issue of the new Ant-man and was so disappointed. He had so many possibilities after FF and development of getting over his daughter's death and they just brought him back to square one and undid all that.
Look the suit would just have to grow to a size larger than your body a bubble like shape, then shrink itself on to fit your size, and if sometimes it just shrinks in a way your pants are on your head that's what happens.
"...rebigening himself". I love that word. Did Sal just make it up? I had to check and rebig is an old Scottish word. It's an actual word albeit a very old one.
Wow, I love and hate this guy at the same time, something must be deeply wrong with me, with my psyche... I.. I.... I'm Batman! Get it 'cause he's messed up in the head!? ;D no? Ok then.. I think Marvel missed their chance to make a story where this shrinking douche's heart grows 10x as big, but he is called the "Irredeemable" Ant-Man for a reason.
Yes yes yes yes yes!! This may be the only character I own every single appearance of in all of comics(who has actually had their own appearance anyway... "John Howards" from that one issue of Daredevil doesn't exactly count).
JordanFromJersey and now after watching the episode, you apparently think I'm a psychopath... I like the book(and the character) "despite" knowing that Eric is a terrible person. The fun is in seeing what scrapes he's going to get himself into because of his douchbaggery, and then how he'll get out of them. I also prefer the second half of the series to this one; once he finally starts going out into the larger Marvel universe. Plus, he was a great addition to "Avengers: The Initiative"(Eric + Taskmaster = greatness) and got me into Thunderbolts and Secret Avengers. If Eric was a real person, I wouldn't want to be his friend, or even sit in the same room with him. But he's fun to read about. I'm not crazy, I swear...
After listening to you guys describe this story... HOLY HELL!!! THAT GUY IS AN ASSHOLE!!! I remember him dying in Secret Avengers and feeling sorry for him, but now I'm just glad he is gone. Now I appreciate Scott Lang and Hank Pym, I didn't think that would happen.
ComicPOP! big fan of the show keep doing what you're doing love it my request is to do Marvel Zombies it would be a lot of fun and it would be hilariously silly.
I'm sad now. I just kicked out my roommate and and this story reminds me of him. He's a terrible person that idolizes Jay and Silent Bob along with Beavis and Butthead. I mean, he models his life after them. He would love this book.
Haha
Allen Babylon Drop the watcher knowledge bomb that those characters were created (especially Beavis and Butthead) to be mocked. Silent Bob is still a total G though.
Zachary Goodrich I did tell him that. He didn't react.
He's so douchy that I think I kinda wanna read how much douchier he gets 😂
Its such a shame that a channel that has this much content and is funny and engaging....doesn't have more than 100,000 subs....it's more professional looking than half of the shit i see on here
Eric Robinson This guy gets it.
I just appreciate the effort even nade...but one day you guys will hit that and then some....i have faith in ComicPOP
Eric Robinson Much love, dude.
Hey comicpop I'm going to be gone for two weeks and be missing your show. But on the brighter side could you do a back issues on annihilation or daredevil man without fear. matthew kaplan Have a great time, Matt! Hope you enjoy catching up with us!
Found another "Not like this! NOT LIKE THIS!" when Spider-man took the serum and accidentally gave himself six arms in Amazing #100.
Ethan gets physical with comic book clothing in this episode of Back Issues
Also this ant man is a douche
i remember this ant-man from secret invasion. Everytime he came on i found it to be hilarious how he dealt with the situations. Like how he ran or hid from major fights.

Slap bracelets are the answer to every scientific question.
He’s the Guy Gardner of Ant-men
This whole book is pretty funny. It's no different than any other show or movie about terrible people. Like Seinfeld, Friends, Breaking Bad, Weeds, Orange is the new Black, Californication, Scrubs, Dexter... Sex and the City.
At least marvel finally wised up and just made Eric a straight up villain now, he’s running around as the super villain Black Ant
I mean it's not really him. It's his LMD
So, they pulled the ultimate Reed Richards on him
But really, why did they keep trying to solidify the fact that he hit his wife? What's the literary benefit of such a character?
And then he went on to create Ultron, he is like the character most hated by the editorial in Marvel or something.
But why does he get a Movie then?!
Blaze Espiritu Well, that movie isn't even based on the original Antman, Hank Pym the wife beating, creator of Ultron. Ultron is now created by Stark, his wife isn't even around and the Antman is Scott Lang.
Which further shows how much Marvel hates him.
Oh right I forgot but yeah seems Editorial hates Hank
GuyWithAnAmazingHat If I worked for Marvel I would ask to write an Hank Pym Ant Man book called "The Redeemable Ant Man". It would be about Hank Pym trying to be a hero again like when he first started to try and make up for what he did. But Marvel probably wouldnt let me make it.
alfie hagan Redemption is a very subjective thing, but I would totally read such a book.
Hank Pym Is my Favorite Marvel Character and I'm excited for the film and I wanted you all to know my reasoning for Hank Pym's Redeeming Factor, his mind. Howard Roark I mentioned Kanye only for the relation the they are both egotistical douches. I did not mean to relate him to Kanye on the aspect of violence.
I agree!
Jobregon300 MarvelFan Thank You!
Oh hey, Ethan actually did survive the end of Convergence. It's been a while.
Steel Legionnaire I'm pretty sure he was in the Bahamas.
MidnightWingz I thought he was traveling through time
After doomsday punched him through reality
Sal Nick Fury wants you for SHIELD!! Your extensive knowledge of the Marvel Universe and the events that have happened in the Marvel Universe has made you a prime recruit for SHIELD!
Hey, who has two thumbs, a background in X-Men lore, and loves ComicPOP!?
This guy.
Why does Ben remind me of James Franco sometimes? I can't be the only one that's noticed this?
Fun fact: you can see my head in the Ant-man movie for about 1 half of one second in the birthday party scene.
These thumbnails are getting better and better each episode XD
This is the last thing I am watching before surgery this morning . I can die a happy man now. #JustComicPopThings
Good luck, buddy! Let us know how it goes!
ComicPOP! Everything went ok. Recovering like a boss :)
RomaRaider PSN You are a boss, bud.
I choked a bit hard on my water when Ethan said “and he beat his wife” 💀
when u really stop and think about it Stan lee, jack Kirby and Steve Ditko didnt know anything abt cosmic rays or gamma radiation
Ehhhhhhhhhh I've definitely been on dates that we'rent going well then someone says "you just want to go to my place?". Then you have sex and never see each other again.
At a certain pt u decide well either way I'm never seeing this person again so...
You know how i figured thad this channel is THE shit besides the awesome content? Sal's socks.
Cool story. Since you mentioned "Enemy of the State" any chance we can have a Back Issues in that?
Jay Petros Definitely.
I don't think I like the story, I just like the way Sal tells it haha!

P.S. O'Grady does get redeemed in Secret Avengers. Like Star-Lord said, he's not 100% a dick. He is only like 98%.
Shutty Secret Avengers proved that Eric really wasn't a dick, he pulled some shit that very few heroes in Marvel would ever be prepared to do.
I am going to comment on part 2 as well because I watched them back to back and this was HILARIOUS!!! You guys are awesome. Underrated comedians.
Man. This guy is so...so...so irredeemable!
This thumbnail is the greatest of all the thumbnails lol
I've been getting antsy waiting all day to watch a new episode of Back Issues. Thanks again for the great content, I'm crossing my fingers that a new Comic Line is coming down the ant hill.
I just read this series again last week. I can't even begin to say how excited I am to watch this. Eric O'Grady is the best, and also the worst.
ComicPOP! YEAHH!
No sleep again tonight I guess...
8:38 he does shock a woman who is trying to break into shield stuff and steal Hank pym's version of heaven
Oh and on pym particles actually after a time of using them your body naturally starts producing them (in 616 and ultimate at least) so literally after a few months you're good to go. Comic pop should do dark victory on back issues
I've never been so entertained hearing about something i never want to read.
Thanks guys!
This was the first comic pop video I ever saw fell in love with the channel, now this is like the third time and we watching all the videos ..... What have you guys done to me
So when are we gonna get an Eric O'Grady Was Right t-shirt on the Tee Public store?
Maybe you could make the clothes using fractals.
told ya i was gonna pause and come back, gotta rewatch this one!
George Constanza: Ant-Man
Omg please do Vol.2 the reactions to this are perfect! Easily one of the best episodes of Back issues!!
I watched the first Terminator for the first time the other day and all I could think all the way through it was: "am I the only who thinks that Kyle Rheese looks kind of like a blonde Ethan???"
I loved Irredeemable Antman... only because it makes me feel better about myself
I forgot to say that the Ant-Man comic with Scott Lang will continue after Secret Wars under the title Astonishing Ant-Man, you can see it in the All-New, All-Different Marvel Previews. It also still has the same writer and artist.
This channel is pretty damn awesome!
In Marvel Future Fight there is a team bonus for Ant-Man, Spider-Man and Black Widow that is called insect 'something'.
Please do vol 2. This stuff is awesome
Sal u know what would make a good back issues episode.....crisis on infinite earths or final crisis
I was debating the Hank vs Janet Molly whopping, and my friend says Hank was being mind controlled at the time, so it's ok. I call Bullsh*t, was he mind controlled? An if so that doesn't excuse it right?
what did pod racing just happen?
Thumbnail is amazing. You peeps are getting really good with those
Imagine if this book was written by Brian Azzarello, that would be a real nightmare.
I think Ben is on to something with the slap bracelet clothing technology
As much as i hate to admit it i think if i got superpowers I would be like eric.
Darren Cross who is Yellowjacket in the Ant-Man movie is actually Scott Lang's first enemy in the comics so, it makes sense that he is the villain in the movie. Justin Hammer is Iron Man's villain and, he's in prison with his boyfriend and Trevor Slattery.
such a funny episode, heading along to the sequel!
this story was pure fun.
Guess this Ant-man shrink from responsibility
Why won't Kirkman write for Marvel now? What happened?
You can forgive a thief but not a wife beater, makes sense.
Greatest. Episode. Ever. Ant-Man The Fucker.😂😂😂😂😂😂 I sent them the second volume.
And they did it now :D
This needs a reprint for the movie (I know it's not Eric)
The trade is going for somewhat high amounts
Sin's Past: Let's assassinate the character of Gwen Stacy, and make MJ look complicit through secret-keeping.
Dark Phoenix: Let's remove Jean Grey's autonomy and turn her into a genocidal monster.
Irredeemable Ant-Man: Let's make all female characters hit every stereotype possible.
These three episodes (69 - 71) are wonderful, but the books discussed really highlight the poor treatment of female characters over the years without saying it explicitly.
Hank only did it once how many times has reed hit sue?
He has? Reed hit Sue before? Lol didnt know
Stephen Grant He has, his son too.
Denchie Dean lol, I havent read a Fantastic Four book in years, so I didnt know Do they even make them anymore?
Stephen Grant They do make them, but this was one of the older comics.
OMG that thumbnail.
MY NAME IS MITCH I SUPERVISE THE IRREDEEMABLE ANT MAN
Holy shit, it’s Tom Servo in the back!!!
Wowwww. What, a, dooouuche. This is one of the stories thats so bad that I would enjoy reading it.
+Joel Sittler the thing is, is not actually a bad story, is nicelly executed really, wich probably makes it even more awkward
It’s like breaking bad, he has morals but has the motivation to break them
Deadpool, Taskmaster & this ant-man need a team together.
This book is the reason why Eric is my favorite antman
Slap bracelets. Get in Ben. Nailed it.
I need volume 2
It's so wrong that I would be that ant man
this is an amazing book. Asshole Ant Man is the best
can you upload more episodes on your SoundCloud page?
There are actually great Scott Lang and Hank Pym books.
Thank you, Sal, Ethan and Ben. I 'll buy this book now! LOL😅😂 This guy, Eric, sounds great!
This book is Hilarious ! ... I should seek help :/
Fabio Scott Lol your first name is awesome.
Blackwinglb58 Lol thanks.
Fabio Scott In the Avengers, he gets killed while saving a child's life.
That was fascinating. This arc slipped by me while it was happening. Great vid, guys.
Another greats show boys .....Does comicpop have a patron account??
Enemy Of The State Please. Would Love To Hear Your Thoughts.
Thanks for another great show ♠
....don't think i'm gonna read this one but it did make for a hilarious back issue!
"Off the Rack"?! There's More Content!
You know I'm not sure what this says about me but I wanna read this just because of Eric and how brazen he is.
Gonna be honest this book sounds hilarious.
Maybe the clothing thing could be accomplished with trillions of nanomachines.🤔
Scientists are actually really on the way to make such kind of clothes. (Althrough not on molecule level yet.^^)
Uncle Sam L Jackson wants you to join SHIELD
This book sounds kind of like Superior Foes of Spiderman, only not good
After listening to you guys describe this story... HOLY HELL!!! THAT GUY IS AN ASSHOLE!!! I remember him dying in Secret Avengers and feeling sorry for him, but now I'm just glad he is gone. Now I appreciate Scott Lang and Hank Pym, I didn't think that would happen.
i see a lot of myself in eric. is that a bad thing?
Please do the messy clone saga and please do a Transformers story or the Star Wars dark horse what if Luke didn't blow up the deathstar
ComicPOP! big fan of the show keep doing what you're doing love it my request is to do Marvel Zombies it would be a lot of fun and it would be hilariously silly.
Holy shit this sounds like Requiem for a Dream, except instead of drugs it's just Antman fucking over everyone's lives.
