Oh we are SOOOOO Back for the dungeons, soundtrack, and characters for another Persona Game!!!! I'm SO excited to get my first experience of P3 through P3Reload!! Has anyone else been playing all launch weekend too? Let me know if it's your first time or if you're replaying the story yourself!!

To answer some of your questions: -The menus in the original P3 were very similar to P4. One reason Atlus was able to make P4 just two years after P3 is that they re-used a lot of the art assets, since both games were on Playstation 2. -Persona 3 is a Top 5 game of all time for me and I am loving the remake! -Babygirl-kun, Yukari, and Junpei are second year students, or juniors in the US, and they're 16-17 years old. Mitsuru and Akihiko are third years, or seniors, and they're 17-18. -The shy girl you were talking to is indeed the girl you met in P4! Keep your eyes peeeled for other stuff you saw during the P4 School Trip :-)

The REWIND feature is essentially a safety against softlocks, aside from other useful features. Persona 3 was sorta infamous in that you CAN potentially softlock yourself. Its hard to do, but its possible. REWIND in P3 Reload is just there to help players not constantly save at every choice, giving options to rewind back to an option to view a different outcome without having to save constantly at every step of the way. They're akin to save states with emulators, if you're familiar with those.
I still do save spam, because even here on Reload on Normal, I got oneshot 30 floors in by a random crit two separate times. And I've beaten P3FES like 3 times. I'm happy there's still some good challenge but like..God, I'm traumatized. So because I spam Save I don't use rewind.
I’m SO glad they didn’t tone down the dark themes. Yes, there’s a lot of theming around death and loss, but that’s a REALLY important thing to show and discuss in a constructive way. It’s going to become very clear to you why P3 is touted as the persona game with the best story, this game and its impact on me and many others is a gaming experience I will cherish for the rest of my life.

All persona games are equally amazing with equally amazing stories plzz just get out with the whole dark equal the best, grow up!! There is so much to stories then just sadness and death.

@@freezhie Thank you, I did! It really made it the definitive way to experience the male protagonist's story. Story-wise all the new scenes and added social link episodes/hangouts, etc. Gameplay-wise, all the combat features/upgrades. The female protagonist's story currently only being on P3P still makes it totally worth playing. Until Reload, her version was the best version of P3 in my opinion. You can tell they really took their learnings from working on Persona 4 to apply to her version of the story. Hope you enjoy! If you plan on putting it on TH-cam, I'll definitely be watching it!

Freezhie on another Persona journey! I hope you have as much fun with this one as you have with your others. I'm going to be playing this at the same time as you, myself. I already love a lot of the quality of life changes vs the older version(s). Also love that they've kept it solidly rooted in the 2000's, with the MP3 players and flip-phones. And yeah, this one gets pretty dark. It's kinda interesting when you look at the three latter Persona games, as this one is def the darkest, where P4 lightens the mood a good bit (while still dealing with serious themes.) And Persona 5 kinda balances some mega-dark themes with some really lighter, fun interactions with your friends (probably why it's my favorite.)

Omg your vibes are so chill I love this playthrough so far! Personally 3 is my favorite of the modern Persona games and I slammed Reload in the span of a week (the 12 hour play sessions went crazy) and ADORED it as an OG fan. Basically my only issues were how they changed that first cutscene and the awakening, and I totally think it's worth checking the OG versions of them if you're into that! It's basically flawless otherwise lol I hope you have fun and enjoy it as well!!

I also love the story, something that 5 didn’t quite manage for me, like I’ve never once come close to even tearing up in a Persona game, but the ending of 3 got to me. 4 is probably my least favorite, but I’m hoping when I revisit it once there’s a remake I’ll change my mind. I still love a lot of the characters, like Kanji is amazing lol, so we’ll see. Hbu? As for the names there’s no reason but I think they do it just to get a reaction out of fans haha. You’ll encounter more characters with similar sounding names to P4 and P5 in Reload. After hearing some of your offhand comments I’m screaming right now wanting to give you some hints lol. What I will say is to try and do as many social links as you can. They really are a bit more special in this game.

Welcome traveler, to the Velvet Room the redesign went down pretty heavily; I would do a joke about how teenagers looks older and older, but the original P3 design had the young character looks like early middle schoolers at best, and the rest nearing their 30s doesn't help too much, but at least we don't have mitsuru being a full head above people one years younger anymore...; persona 3 didn't have the color-coded setup the following titles had. the high amount of blues has been claimed to be accidental until the final phase of production, with interfaces and such, and only in the final phase included in the ancillary medias (manual, artwork etcetera), but the remake really went down hard on that, understandably they also decided to go with the school related eccentric characters from the start, I see... the soundtrack is all over the place, in a good sense. you'll hear, you'll hear... our little blue boy is canonically suffering from depression, and later it will say that he's an orphan, 10 years ago his parent died in an accident. it's annoying how it's never really exposed this early for no good reason "no one takes rumors seriously anyways" if the P2 remake eventually reveals itself to be a thing, that will become ironical... I'm not gonna spoil stuff at least untill it becomes relevant, but no matter what DO NOT sleep thought the class lessons, no matter what. that ain't worth it, and I'm not talking about the one courage point

Gotta be honest, not impressed with the English VA. Yukari sounds like she is on the verge of tears half the time, Akihiko fails to emote 80% of the time, Yuko sounds more like Yukari than Yukari. Yeah, I'm sticking with Japanese VA. I tried giving new English cast a bash. Nah.
I gotta try the Japanese VA!! Honestly coming from a fresh perspective I'm certainly not blown away from any of it so far but maybe there will be some shining story moments down the road🤞

I think what it is, is that the old P3 ENG cast was crazy iconic! Old Akihiko was Liam O'Brien (grimoire weiss!) and he really nailed the character. I finished Reload and I think the new ones did well after they grew on me, they just really suffer from comparisons to the old guard. @@freezhie

they said they wouldn't, but they did generally adjust dialogue in a way i think so far has benefitted the storytelling and characters
i think part of the reason i feel like this is more well written than 5 and 4 is because it has better writing than the original 3 too

Persona 3's story is, atleast from what ive seen, is considered the best story in the series.
I think I like the P2 duology's story more, and 5 has higher highs, but in terms of being consistently good, P3 is pretty great.
