The scene where he gets 'birthed' by the rhino is still one of the most insane things I have ever seen in cinema. Every thing from when he first taps the fan to when he plops out the back.
@jla0848 Actually, there really is. Yes, you can be unhappy and perturbed to find out you were kissing someone of your own sex rather than the opposite when you're straight, but the fact that you move straight to "grossed out" is homophobic AND transphobic. The way they portray things in the movie, as soon as it's revealed that the character is trans - all the men react as though something beyond disgusting has happened, retching, grimacing, recoiling in horror. That scene is the EPITOME of transphobia, because it's saying "look how twisted and disgusting this THING is," completely dehumanizing the character, and cementing in the idea that someone who is trans is abnormal and gross. Obviously there's a lot more going on behind the reasoning of the character, so we don't know if the character is technically trans or just very mentally ill (and that's a WHOLE other kettle of fish that I won't go into), but the fact remains that they're still being portrayed as obscene simply for having transitioned.
Jim pulling the cellist's arm was always my favorite Ace Ventura moment. It was so unexpected and so easy to overloook. I enjoyed pointing it out to friends who hadn't noticed it before and getting to see their genuine reaction to it. It's even funnier now to know it was improvised. Perfect timing on that note too.
I feel like there's no way this one wasn't planned (or the take in the movie is an ALT). They're not actually playing the music in those types of scenes, as the continuity between takes and such wouldn't match. So I think they synced the music up afterwards to make it seem like it was in the middle of a note.
@@mattb7479 It's called Post-Production which is done after all scenes have finished filming. The cellists were pretending to play well, Jim Carrey intervened so they added the sound of the mess up while adding the music in. It doesn't mean it's scripted since the improv took place BEFORE the music was added.
Me too 😂. That everything stayed in place and he comes back to wipe everything off made it even better. Glad they kept it in instead of the original intention.

@@FlorJor26 I guess that probably depends on who he's comfortable working with. Some of the bloopers - especially in Liar Liar - shows some of the cast (and probably crew) playing pranks on Carrey. In Living Color had nothing BUT comedians in the cast with Carrey in it - and some of his films had comedians too (Jeff Daniels in Dumber and Dumber to name one). This was one scene which still cracks me up after 25 years. Anywhere where there is a cellist, I've pulled on their arm. Got me booted out of many receptions and banquets. I'm up to 17 now!
Actually I am remembering a clip from Kimmel, Celebrities Read Mean Tweets #10, in which Bryan Cranston seamlessly blends these in response to one that says he looks like Jim impersonating Matthew. He then goes on to do it, and it's hilarious.
In the Grinch stole Christmas, when Carrey pulled the table cloth, he was supposed to knock everything off, but he actually pulled it so fast it all stayed on. So to keep in character, he just went back and knocked it all off, which I believe is a much better showing of the Grinch’s character
Improv is the sign of true acting ability, when someone can enter the character to the point where they create new things for them to do; especially at Jim's level, you know they actually care about what they are doing
@Alex Kanyima He was amazing in dramatic roles like The Majestic and Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, and especially in The Truman Show, he deserved at least an Oscar nomination for one of those, if not all of them.
I swear, if Jim Carrey, Robin Williams, and Will Ferrel (now changed to George Carlin, view last edit) all got on the same stage at the same time, the world would implode. Edit: According to popular demand I will switch out Will Ferrel for Jim Gaffigan or Brandon Rogers, both amazingly hilarious Another edit: just realized a really good one, Adam Sandler LAST EDIT: I have decided on a name that everyone should agree on to replace Will Ferrel, GEORGE CARLIN a legend in comedy and most recognized apart from comedy as the voice of the conductor from Thomas the Tank Engine, if you don’t know who he is…… you poor lifeless soul
Robin Williams was 1000x the actor of the other 2. Dead poets society, good will hunting, awakenings blows away the one trick pony acting of Carrey and Ferrel.

Nothing compares to Legends like Jim Carey and Robin Williams. They are on a different spectrum and our society frankly doesn't deserve them. Which is one of the reason why Robin Williams felt lonely and felt it is better to leave, I just hope and pray Jim Carrey doesn't feel the same way.
Williams didn’t entirely want to leave - he just had an illness that would kill him in a few years. His wife said he was already losing full speech and mobility - I don’t blame him for taking his life when you look into his illness. Just another reason I support assisted suicide done by medical professionals - if you have a terminal illness, by damn you should get to choose to get it over with or linger in pain and/or misery.
If only Williams and Carey had both guested at "Whose Line Is It Anyway" at the same time, I bet those two would have the studio dial 911 barely 15 minutes into the show for people gasping for air from laughing too hard.

I changed lanes at the intersection. I changed lanes without signaling while running a red light and speeding!"
Fun fact: when he yanked the cloth, the silverware wasn't supposed to stay on the table. The directors were too impressed to edit the scene, despite this, Carrey still wanted to knock off the silverware on the table, as that was what he was told to do, so he knocked the stuff off himself

I almost peed my pants when he said "Hello Captain Steubing, how are Gopher and Doc?"How that man kept a straight face...
The cellist's name is Mak Scott. We went to high school together.
This was one scene which still cracks me up after 25 years. Anywhere where there is a cellist, I've pulled on their arm. Got me booted out of many receptions and banquets. I'm up to 17 now!
Him pulling the cellists arm in ace Ventura killed me when I was younger and still kills me to this day
Matthew McConaughey: Alright Alright Alright!
Jim Carrey: Alrighty Then!
Haha brilliant
I'm not a big meme fan but this was great!
Actually I am remembering a clip from Kimmel, Celebrities Read Mean Tweets #10, in which Bryan Cranston seamlessly blends these in response to one that says he looks like Jim impersonating Matthew. He then goes on to do it, and it's hilarious.
Denzel Washington: Alright, okay
I’ll never get over him slamming his face into the chair in a tutu
Lmao. Makes me laugh everytime.

Let's see that in instant replay lol
the sound effect and the way his face hit..shit was perfect. wish i can watch it for the first time over and over again
@@demonmod didnt he almost break his nose and pass out when shooting that scene?
Jim carrey is a cartoon that came to life. ❤️
Smokin’!
Does anyone else think Jim Carry would make a good Doc Brown if they ever did a Back to the Future reboot?
They can’t because of the contract for the original saying that a reboot was not allowed to happen
Omg 🤯🤯🤯💯💯💯

Jim Carrey can act in an entire movie without a script. And it will be right.
@Alex Kanyima Facts. Especially Martin Lawrence.

I could tell the dude handing out the latte was a fan, that fool was trying not to laugh for that split second and I caught it xD
I would be honored to bring a Latte for the legend Jim Carrey. That guy is so lucky.
I was so happy with the way Sonic came out.
The fact its 2020 and we still don't have a Ace Ventura 3 is saddening.
It's better that we don't. Re-boots today are always so soulless
@@Jaredsfarm they did made a reboot junior dective
I wish they would
@@jordancrooks6752 We dont talk about that one :P
Don't. Did you see dumb and dumber 2? Ace Ventura 3 would be a million times worse.
@Alex Kanyima Oscar is what oscar folks decide... the impression what one makes on a person's life is much more than that...
@Alex Kanyima Agree..
@Alex Kanyima He was amazing in dramatic roles like The Majestic and Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, and especially in The Truman Show, he deserved at least an Oscar nomination for one of those, if not all of them.
I think the fact that everything didn't fall off of the table when The Grinch pulled the table cloth off made the scene more hilarious
Love how the actors just kiss him without missing a beat.
I swear, if Jim Carrey, Robin Williams, and Will Ferrel (now changed to George Carlin, view last edit) all got on the same stage at the same time, the world would implode.
Edit: According to popular demand I will switch out Will Ferrel for Jim Gaffigan or Brandon Rogers, both amazingly hilarious
Another edit: just realized a really good one, Adam Sandler
LAST EDIT: I have decided on a name that everyone should agree on to replace Will Ferrel, GEORGE CARLIN a legend in comedy and most recognized apart from comedy as the voice of the conductor from Thomas the Tank Engine, if you don’t know who he is…… you poor lifeless soul
Add Ryan Reynolds as well
Robin Williams was 1000x the actor of the other 2. Dead poets society, good will hunting, awakenings blows away the one trick pony acting of Carrey and Ferrel.

I didn’t get the ‘Sorry, wrong pocket’ joke as a kid, only when I just rewatched it with my son did it make sense
I think this movie it what taught me they weren't 'toys'. I remember when I was young someones older brother tried to give me a 'balloon' that was already blown up. I'm pretty sure its because of this movie that I was really hesitant and didn't take it - didn't know what it was, but I knew it was 'something'.
My dad showed me that movie when I was like 6, I rewatched it all the time, and only recently, when I paid attention did I realize what that actually was, and I turn 17 in 13 days
I knew it was a rubber
Because momma often had to take us to the health clinic with her and there were pamphlets
You can't beat a legend like this, you just can't.
My husband looks just like him. He grew up with everyone saying it and he still gets it randomly by people we don't know.. I love it! I literally cried laughing so hard when he did the backwards football shot at the hospital. My favorite Jim Carrey scene.
This is why a movie with him and Robin Williams would have been impossible
They would go off script every chance they'd get.
The director would have a mental breakdown

5:00 OMG! Did he almost break character saying, "Silence Of The Lambs"?? Haha 🤣
Jim Carrey has always been my favorite actor. Never remembered anyone else. This guy developed my humor and practically raised me.

Jim Carrey rocks. Love the guy, both his comedy & his philosophical insights and commentary on life.
You've missed the Liar -liar on the court scene where he say most annoying things
Liar Liar should have been in the list, definitely, maybe in the honorable mentions! OWWIE!! 🤣🤣🤣
Before that scene he does thos unscripted line which says
"shavavavavlalala lovovl ovovo" .......... Very funny flecher wanna play hard ball i'm game.
i dunno if it was improvised but my favorite line is "Here goes: I sped. I followed too closely. I ran a stop sign. I almost hit a Chevy. I sped some more. I failed to yield at a crosswalk. I changed lanes at the intersection. I changed lanes without signaling while running a red light and speeding!"

In my opinion Jim Carrey and Tom Hanks were the best actors from the 90s.
Yep, Jim for comedy, and Hanks for pretty much any other type of movie

You forgot Robin Williams and Nick Cage. Come on. Give credit where credit is due.
"The Grinch" tablecloth scene was the one that made me laugh out loud... HARD!
Same xD
Same, and the way the table fell is just perfect :D
Fun fact: when he yanked the cloth, the silverware wasn't supposed to stay on the table. The directors were too impressed to edit the scene, despite this, Carrey still wanted to knock off the silverware on the table, as that was what he was told to do, so he knocked the stuff off himself
The laugh that Jeff Daniels did when Jim starts screaming is priceless! 😂
Jim carrey is the only actor that does not care what people thinks about him
So brave he took the role of Biden
Then he kinda lost his mind for a while there.
Uh huh, that's why he got depression after his "serious" films flopped. He hates the fact that people see him nothing more than a funny guy.
@@douchymcdouche169 Well, to be fair, Bill Murray struggled when he didn't get his expected award noms-and he famously does not have a PR person. In both cases I think it all comes down to, the actors would rather be respected by *some* than liked by *most*. Just my opinion, of course.
