Nice pair of IHC tractors !👍Especially the 856 diesel. I remember my late father explaining to me to not run the diesel tractors out of fuel , something about if you do , you will wish that you had not ( he probably was speaking from personal experience? ). We never had an 856 on the farm , but I understand them to be very good tractors. Dad had an early model year 806 diesel wheatland , front tires were 7.50×20 , back were 18.4×38. Was either a 1962,or63? Myself , about 10 years ago purchased a 1966 806 standard , wheatland , always sheded , nice unit something like 5,500 hours on her. Very good motors in both the 806 & 856 diesel tractors.
Yeah you just don't run an international out of diesel especially going down a hill because you have no steering and you have no brakes and you go for one hell of a ride I know it happened to me
Yeah luckily we don’t have many hills around here but I know exactly what you mean from towing one you can push the fluid and turn very very slowly but definitely not at down hill speeds
Happy belated birthday my friend! Every one of our tractors have been run out of fuel at one time or another. I have to say that our 706 is the worst one to restart. Take it from someone who has had to bleed a hell of a lot of fuel systems. I never ever crack injection lines on any of our tractors. All that needs to be done on that 856 is to make sure that both filters are bled. Do not waste your time on any of the other BS. Start cranking and keep cranking. Give your starter a break now and then so that you do not fry it. It will take a bit, but she'll start firing soon enough. You will save yourself a lot of extra work and time

Took a night off for my birthday on the weekend after lol didn’t get a break on the actual day though had to wait for a rainy day
