Thanks so much for the vedio. Great show. Though it has been near 50 years, I can still pick out many of the locations, esp. the underpass. Some of the track looks the same as the TC, Esp. through Allgood. Same rails too. Looks like the N&E is doing a good job in keeping this line open.
Thanks for the comment! The N&E has plans for further expansion, and they have done a lot of work to open up new sections of this line. The Algood to Monterey section shown in this video was completely renovated in 2006.
The plan is to eventually connect with Norfolk Southern near the Wartburg area via Clarkrange. This has been 'talked' about for nearly 26 years, however. The crossing on Brotherton Mtn where the blind hairpin curve in the track is, is very dangerous. There was a near miss on the last TC excursion to Monterey as well.
Nice video! I live in Cookeville, and it's great to see trains back on the mountain again that's for sure. You said the N&E had plans for expansion, do you know where? I do know one thing, if this traffic keeps up they may have to look at signalizing several more crossings in Putnam County. There are several blind ones w/crossbucks only. There was actually a car struck by a sand train at Green Mountain Rd.(Brotherton Mtn) on May 21, 2013. Didn't make the paper though for some reason...

How often does this line run a train. ( by the old depot museum) im headed to fairfield glade for vacation saturday so i was wondering if i may be able to catch one

I used a friend's Sony HandyCam.
Its very on and off, Zack. Therefore I can't really say for sure when you can expect them. Usually once a week, but that can be on and off as well.
