The line when they say "I love him more than anything he could ever do wrong" that hit me. I recently did something wrong and my mom just hugged me and told me she’s just glad I’m alive.
Such a good finale that tied everything together, gave everyone justice- those alive and those dead. It's almost like this show had a clear plan and planning a series is a good idea.
When Cyril first saw combat on Ferrix in episode 3, he was shook, Mosk had to pull him to safety. Now, Dedra first sees combat on Ferrix and a hardened Cyril has to pull her to safety. Mosk is here again too, sitting on his ass in an alley. Them parallels y'all
Another parallel is the way the Corpos wanted to keep the two "murders" quiet while Syril wanted to chase down Andor and the way Qyburn (I can't recall the character's name) says " Today was about wiping the taste of Ahldani from the Emperor's mouth" while Dedra thought it best to get prisoners and interrogate them. Ultimately, Imperial oppression leads to the goal becoming "appease your master" instead of "do your job well and competently".
As a former 12 year old who grew up I'm so grateful to have seen Star Wars done in this way. Everyone involved with the making of Andor should be proud with what they have created.
This comment reminds me of the chronical of Narnia series. And loving it!] - and sentencing him to life in prison, on penal colony Cygnus Alpha That's just episode 1! The dialogue was mature, and delivered by superb stage actors - when some of the prisoners escape, they commandeer an alien vessel ... they don't like or trust each other much .. like Andor levels of distrust, with associated barbed dialogue. There are so many parallels between Andor and Blakes 7 - I just know I would have loved it, and with the added bonus of superb VFX [however, both shows use real-world locations superbly! - at age 7, how was I supposed to know what the inside of a disused power station looked like? It looked just like an alien processing plant to me!]

I was mind blown all the way through. Maarva’s speech had me emotional but that ending scene revealing what the devices the prisoners had built was used for was insane.
Fiona Shaw is so amazing! I loved her in Killing Eve, I was so happy about her little role in Fleabag and she totally crushed it here. What an amazing show, perfectly structured, an amazing mix of set up and pay off, I can't believe that a Star Wars show is one of the best of the year.
An excellent finale with things neatly wrapped up. What a fest of emotions at that. The entire ceremony was so powerful, with sadness, solemness but also defiance and anger building. And another great monologue. And though many suspected it, it was nice to see what those crosses were made for at the end.
I like the episode because it is incredibly simple in its approach and resolution. Andor avoids the trap everyone expected him to walk into, Luthen and Imperial alike, by not walking in. It does something different, and outmaneuver everyone, even Luthen. Finally Andor is finally a member of the rebellion and now he will learn from Luthen and become even more dangerous and capable. On the other hand, the text message is an echo of what Andor said to Kino but with other words "oppression is the mask of fear" "What do you call killing 200 people to keep a secret? I call it fear" Even before hearing the manifesto they already thought the same. The issue is that oppression requires more and more effort, but it generates more and more discontent, until the system breaks down, inevitably due to the pressure. The empire creates its own enemies over and over again, a vicious circle that they themselves create and are unable to prevent. Cinta could be a problem in the future, she was more interested in killing an imperial than in the mission, in fact she is totally absent from the mission and acting alone all the time. That doesn't bode well for the future, but maybe I was wrong.
This was a superb show. The people who made this should helm Star Wars. They get it. Great storytelling, writing, music, cinematography, characters and acting.
It was so good! The way Mon backstabbed Perrin for the cause ... you do NOT want to be on her wrong side. The way we got to see Dedra freak out ... yeah that was great. Also of course Brasso Brasso Brasso. I thought maybe B2 had a message for Cassian, but soft Brasso ... ugh ... the way he had to pause before delivering the last line right. Like ... I feel ya Brasso, I'd have trouble saying the last line also! And wow, Cassian Andor's GOOD. Always a step ahead.
As someone who used to live in an oppressive country and now witnessing my people being killed by that oppressive government for their basic human rights made Marva's speech hit deeply. This finale was everything I needed.
Amazingly, all of the Ferrix scenes were shot first (which is why we saw so many of them in the teaser trailer), so kudos to all the actors who brought their 'A' game right from the start to sell their characters. Can't wait to see season two, but it doesn't finish principle photography until August of next year so we might be waiting a while. :(
@dylanrodrigues As long as the writing is there, I'm in. By the way, the most recent episode of The Mandalorian was very Andor-like in its writing and style. I hope they do more of those.
I liked the resolution that parallels between Cassian & Syril's respective, though very different, journeys, on opposing sides of the conflict. Syril is a believer in Imperial order from the get go, and Cassian slowly becomes a believer in the Rebellion. And in the end, Luthen sees something of Cassian's worth, as does Dedra begin to see Syril's.
The most amazing thing is that none of the principals died. Tremendous tension building but finding a way to get them all out. I was super-scared that the ship with Bix, Brasso et al was going to get shot down. This show rules. So sad it will be 2 years before we see it again.
There's another parallel between this final scene and episode 3 climax. There it was Luthen who had to convince Andor to join him and they took the hoverbike together to his ship. Then too Luthen had come for Andor to recruit him but only as a merc. Now too he had come for Andor in a different way. But he went back alone only to find Andor already there, to join him, not just as a merc, but as a rebel, literally ready to die right then and there. And the beauty about Andor is that he is never impulsive ever. Never gets carried away with emotion. Always observant, calculating odds and possibilities and making tough choices rationally. Whenever he kills, you can actually see that depicted by Luna. It's brilliant writing. Even in rogue one, when he does it right at the beginning you can see that. They've stayed true to that character and they've shown he has always been a survivor who isn't afraid to kill to survive but not unless it's necessary.
I think it's been somewhat telling that all the TH-cam channels that get their clicks hating on Disney Star Wars and Marvel and will hate watch and react to every episode of a series have been really quiet about Andor. They all claim that they want well told stories and interesting and flawed characters and here it all is and pretty much nothing from them.
"Go go go" "Wake up Bixy", Christ the tone deafness lol, it's almost like she's been tortured for weeks and Cassian is being gentle with her, like ya know, actual people who've been under torture, you can't just tell them to snap out of it lmao
It ends with Andor now fully committed to the rebellion and Luthen with a slight change of heart. We even get to see - almost - a smile from Luthen! Season two will have numerous time jumps throughout so that the final episode butts right up against Rogue One, just like Rogue One butted up against A New Hope (according to Tony Gilroy, the showrunner).
I know some people who work in big tech and so I know that Disney is trying to acquire new viewers outside of their "normal" viewership-meaning they are actually trying to break into this type of market. I can only hope they feel the deep appreciation for this direction and quality. Best show on TV this year...Keep these coming!
Great finale that tied everything up for the season so well. Amazing show and best show on DisneyPlus with Mando and just one of the best shows on Television with HOTD. Hope this gets Emmy Nominations For Best Drama, Directing, Writing, Stellan And Andy For Supporting Actor. Hope to get in Season 2: Thrawn, Freddie Prinze Jr As Kareen, Vader, Emperor, K-2SO.
If you calculate how many six pronged hexagonal mirror interconnecting pieces there are per mirror as part of a larger giant mirror, then count the number of giant mirrors in the dish section, they didn’t make that many in prison. How many prisons and levels and sectors per prison ward and the number of hours of labour per day. Doesn’t add up. … :D if i’m being picky. Best not mention the scale of the dish too.
8:10 Guys, were you not paying attention? That guy is the ISB spy that Dedra has had watching Maarva's house for the last 3 episodes. 14:03 I wanted them to just kiss already!
On the first point, I think the reactors know he’s the spy, but it is a bit of a surprise for him to openly arrest someone. I guess he hasn’t been fully incognito, but it’s a bit strange for him to just straight up arrest Nurchi in broad daylight as a cover for bringing him in. It was probably just coz there was no time so he did it himself, otherwise maybe he would have arranged for a staged arrest to take place in a couple hours at an agreed place and time by troopers so that it wouldn’t blow the spy’s cover entirely On your second point, that scene was so weird, initially I was like “ffs, DO NOT KISS, DAMN YOU DISNEY DON’T RUIN THIS!” but then there was a moment in the middle of their scene where I kind of thought “you know what? She’s so amped that I kind of could allow a panic, adrenaline powered kiss,” as long as the show didn’t try and act like it was somehow cute or romantic. As long as it was clearly just her being off her face from the stress of everything. Maybe if Syril had even pulled back a bit from it and the show used it to clarify that his obsession with her is more as an idol of aspiration and not as a romantic or sexual fixation
Great ending for the first fantastic season. That's how it should be done: tell each season as a complete satisfying story without a big cliffhanger, because most shows get cancelled before they can tell the ending or without being told ahead of time, with the result that there are a TON of shows out there, that just stop with a lot of storylines and setup just left hanging. This show told the story of how Andor ended up at as a proper rebell instead of just a hired hand, and and all the other characters ended in a good spot to end as well. If this had been the last episode of Andor ever, I would be fine with it.
The Stormtroopers standing by not attacking with their blasters i think was an affect by Dedra. Her orders were specifically that they capture Cassian alive and she even ordered no snipers be deployed. If they're as disciplined enough to follow hierarchy, the stormtroopers will only take action at the behest of one of their superior officers ~
I don't really need another season to understand Andor's arc. I'm sure the "further rebel adventures of Cassian Andor" will be great fun, but we could go straight to Rogue One, as far as I'm concerned about Andor. But who knew Mon Mothma had such an intriguing backstory? I certainly want to see her progress to the Star War: Rebels episode where she openly announces her leadership in the Rebel Alliance.
Watch Gangs of New York. The playing of poorly played musical instruments and a group of people marching together is an intentional homage to that movie. Like the original trilogy was an homage to old Westerns and Akira Kurosawa movies wrapped up in a Sci-Fi Fantasy Opera, Andor is paying homage to spy, espionage, and also revolution movies. Why I think Andor is so special, it is not paying homage to Star Wars (like Boba Fett and Obi-Wan did), it's paying homage to the other genres that made the original Star Wars what it was.
@@Bayard1503 Yep, and upon watching the episode again it's amazing how the music they are playing changes from a somber funeral song to a rallying revolution marching song. Really great stuff!
@@Bayard1503 Again yep, these writers and showrunners know what they are doing. Also, the Andor Logo. Why does it look similar to the Rebel Alliance logo but not quite? The only post-credit scene explains that. Rogue One and Andor is all about the Death Star. Rogue One and Andor would not exist if it wasn't for the Death Star.
i was totally getting the GF2 vibe from the funeral procession. No way is the similarity a coincidence. That Godfather scene was definitely an inspiration here.
The reason the stormtroopers were just standing there is simple: they aren't riot police. The normal army guys can take care of that. Aside from pure intimidation, they're there for when it's time for people to start dying. This is what stormtroopers are, and my patience for people, especially Star Wars writers, buying into the overused memes about stormtroopers sucking is wearing thin.
That was not a game. Luthien wanted Cassian from the start to join him. He just needed Cassian to experience what he went through in this show. Luthien wanted Cassian. Also, when Cassian stated that he wanted to be taken in with him, it was the first time I seen Luthien smiled and his smile was a predator smile like beware Empire you are in trouble.
Luthen has been wanting Andor to be part of the rebellion since before the first episode. He did his best to convince him, but in the meantime, appealed to what Cassian wanted at the time. When he left Vel, he became a liability and needed to be killed, but at the end, Andor was ready and willing to join Luthen. Luthen's little smile said it all. Just hope that Cinta and Vel get the memo. :p
The end scene is Cassian laying it out for Luthen: He has now experienced enough loss that there is nothing left for him but joining the rebellion. An existence outside of it would be even more miserable than what he has already endured.
She'll pin it on the governor (the guy who overturned B2). As governor, he was in charge of security and it was his action that provoked the riot. She can claim, with some justification, that he should have just let the residents make their little show of defiance because her interests in letting things proceed until she could find Andor were far more important.
The line when they say "I love him more than anything he could ever do wrong" that hit me. I recently did something wrong and my mom just hugged me and told me she’s just glad I’m alive.

Cyril and Dedra are the imperial version of Cassian and Luthen. Except with the creepy attraction! 😛
@@m.e.3862 They reminded me of Venessa and Kingpin. Gender-reversed.
@@pranjoshi Maybe the last of them season 2 also. Interesting to see what happens.
I call it fear"
Even before hearing the manifesto they already thought the same.
"As always all the Empire's problems were generated within the Empire by the Empire.."
The screenplay for this show is so fantastic. Really people at the top of their game.
"I love him more than he could ever do wrong."
The writing in this show... Star Wars has no right to be this good.
The line of the episode, "if I could do it all over again I would wake up early." Bars.
At the end cass said “kill me……or take me in” cass knows he has potential and knows luthen will take him in.
It's simple. He has nothing to lose and he wants revenge. He is now an "unstoppable force".
That makes it worse season is gonna be maximum tension.
Loved your discussions at the end of all the episodes of Andor!!
Thank you!!
They've stayed true to that character and they've shown he has always been a survivor who isn't afraid to kill to survive but not unless it's necessary.
the daughter is like...she'll do anything to get out of the house!
I called it last episode that Bee had Maarva's last words and still wasn't ready for it
Thanks! Good reactions.
Thank YOU! And sorry for the super super late response. Didn't realize we had any super thanks on videos at the time.
"There goes the Sandman" - haha I got the reference Jaby!😁👍
Cassian died in Rogue One trying to take down the very same weapon he unintentionally helped build 🥺😢
"She's getting saved."
"By the incel."
🤣🤣🤣
So Andor helped build the Death Star, then got killed by the Death Star and then played a vital role in its destruction post-mortem.
I know some people who work in big tech and so I know that Disney is trying to acquire new viewers outside of their "normal" viewership-meaning they are actually trying to break into this type of market. I can only hope they feel the deep appreciation for this direction and quality. Best show on TV this year...Keep these coming!
Cass was at the end of his rope. His mom believed in him and wanted him to join in the rebellion. He was accepting his fate whole heartedly
He meant take me in, like "recruit me to the rebellion."
Really good post-episode commentary from everyone - well done :)
"I should say... thank you..."
TFS Vegeta: "I need your hehehehlll... I need you hehehe..."
"You need our help?"
"Yes! That!"
Andor built the part of the weapon he helped steal the plans to destroy.
This is the Star Wars I've been waiting for!
It was probably just coz there was no time so he did it himself, otherwise maybe he would have arranged for a staged arrest to take place in a couple hours at an agreed place and time by troopers so that it wouldn’t blow the spy’s cover entirely
On your second point, that scene was so weird, initially I was like “ffs, DO NOT KISS, DAMN YOU DISNEY DON’T RUIN THIS!” but then there was a moment in the middle of their scene where I kind of thought “you know what? She’s so amped that I kind of could allow a panic, adrenaline powered kiss,” as long as the show didn’t try and act like it was somehow cute or romantic. As long as it was clearly just her being off her face from the stress of everything. Maybe if Syril had even pulled back a bit from it and the show used it to clarify that his obsession with her is more as an idol of aspiration and not as a romantic or sexual fixation
BRO THE POST CREDITS SCENEEEEE
i was screaming the whole time 😢😂
It's crazy to think that Cassian built something in prison that killed him 5 years later
Its also crazy to point that the mentioned delays in the Death Stars construction was the "worker issue" on Narkina 5.
They didn't sound bad at all once they started... they were just tuning their instruments before a show.
@@Bayard1503 Yep, and upon watching the episode again it's amazing how the music they are playing changes from a somber funeral song to a rallying revolution marching song. Really great stuff!
@@cazory2147 Apparently if you combine the starting songs form each episode they form the funeral song from the finale.
Jaby recognising the Sandman lol
That was not a game. Luthien wanted Cassian from the start to join him. He just needed Cassian to experience what he went through in this show. Luthien wanted Cassian. Also, when Cassian stated that he wanted to be taken in with him, it was the first time I seen Luthien smiled and his smile was a predator smile like beware Empire you are in trouble.
They might say three is a crowd 'n all but Steph adds a lot to these reactions -- she and Acharya play off each other so well
Luthen has been wanting Andor to be part of the rebellion since before the first episode.
@Cinepals can't to see this trio back for Andor season 2 in April 2025. This was my favorite reaction to Andor. bless! 🤣
No, Dedra did not die, but now she has to go back to the ISB and explain what happened
She'll pin it on the governor (the guy who overturned B2). As governor, he was in charge of security and it was his action that provoked the riot. She can claim, with some justification, that he should have just let the residents make their little show of defiance because her interests in letting things proceed until she could find Andor were far more important.
B2 attacked, they rioted
Great catch on the godfather reference. I thought it seemed so familiar.
Bix looks very convincingly destroyed
The fact andor helped build the very thing that would kill him. Wow heavy stuff
I think the dude who got shanked was their insider.
