- Several years ago my mandolin teacher introduced me to this traditional Bulgarian song titled "Bucimis." I was immediately drawn to its captivating rhythm. The piece was written in the time signature 15/16 which is one I had never played in before. I found that it is both a fun and challenging piece to play. I hope you enjoy my interpretation of Bucimis!

That was the most rockin' mandolin performance I've ever seen.
Haha thank you!
I think an Azerbaijani Aşıq and Bulgarian musician met in Moscow at 1965 and they said "let us compose a song"
absolutely incredible, a perfect performance of this song!
like, Avi Avital levels of good
Thank you so much!
Wow! And all in one breath too
Excellent!
Please also notice the Vocal Version from the Swingles from there album Folclore!
Very cool, nice use of chords.
We play this in our band, first time through with kazoos, second time with instruments, I would hate to do it without the rhythm section so 👏
Bostin - and how unusual! Well done, and thank you for this, Emma.
The rhythym and chords in that are nuts! I mean that in a most positive way
Haha they definitely are!😆
Absolutely fantastic, after another video, you got yourself a sub.
Великолепно ! 👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥

How do you even count this? Where is the dropped 16th note? At the end?
Think of it as 2 2 2 2 3 2 2 in groups of eighths
It's in 15/16, so 4 sixteenths each beat, except for the 3th beat. 4-4-3-4.
Please share the tablature for that tune
Avi Avital's version cover? Excellent job though
Yes it is!
@@emmabordersmusic you've played it so well! congrats:)
Just great!! but all along I was terrified that your hair would get unremovably tangled in the strings. Suspense was killing me.
Haha😂
