Sorry I missed the livestream. Long time follower. Started watching back at the log cabin build. When you first started putting in the logs for the foundation. Always enjoy your videos. Could not make it tonight. Watched the rerun though! ;) Ranger is a good boy. And very good at alerting. I have a Belgian Malinois. They all like rolling in nasty stuff! Keep the videos coming. Your lifestyle is an inspiration. Hope to join the next live one. Jim Gillespie. Reno, NV. :)
Jim, thank you for hanging around so long, I really appreciate your comment! Ranger has his moments, he needs a job 24/7. I will do my best keeping the videos rolling, shooting for one video a week and a live stream on Saturdays (weather permitting), snow and satellites can be problematic at times. All the best to you Sir.
On a future video, please consider walking us through your thinking regarding heating water just enough to keep it from freezing so that you wouldn't need to haul water. I've heard that one of the most efficient uses of the sun's rays is in heating water. If the cold is too cold and there isn't enough direct sunlight to do the job consistently, what about wind, solar panels, and battery power to heat those large water containers that you had to drain when freezing weather was approaching? Also, what about snow melt off of your roof? Is that water drinkable? If not, couldn't there still be some use for it? I would enjoy hearing you talk about these topics at some length, and perhaps your other viewers would too. Thanks for another enjoyable video!
Solar heating is probably not likely up here... too cold/subzero temps will always win unless your water is buried or stored indoors. With enough money I could fix all the "challenges" I have up here, however this is not an option for me. I am well aware of all the options however it boils down to finances available at the time. I may look at enclosure options for a large water tank attached to the cabin in someway so the enclosure could have access to heat from my woodstove. I am also not a fan of being dependent on electricity/batteries for winter survival. Less is more... this is the goal up here.
I joined you today. Awesome! ❤
Welcome aboard! Thank you for joining... hopefully I can keep it awesome :-) stay well.

Awesome to watch this, albeit after the fact! So nice to see you
Thanks for watching... I'm glad you enjoyed it. Live streams are a new experiment... we shall see how it goes. Keep well.
