    My buddy had a 750 F. I had never ridden before. He let me try his 750. It was too much bike for me. So I Ended up buying the 350F. What a bike just the right size for me. I lived in Calgary and did a lot of riding through the Canadian rockies. It was a great cruising bike. My buddy built a chrome sissy bar with a chrome maple leaf. It was the same green as yours with four chromed exhaust pipes. It looked fabulous. It handled the mountain highways with ease and it was a super smooth ride. Also was a great sounding bike. I only road for two years moved back to Toronto and never road again. What a great bike.

    I own the same bike in a bit more original condition, but equally as presentable. They're awesome little run about bikes and they get tons of respect and attention when people see them. Mine, fortunately, still has the original rust free Honda stamped 4 into 4 headers and mufflers. Nothing beats the sound! Thanks for taking us along and I hope you still have the bike and are enjoying it! Cheers! Zip~

    Very nice bike! My dad and I have an English bike called a Rickman Matisse interceptor series 2 from 1970. It's got a triumph 650 built crazy back then. We've had it since 76 and only has 3200 miles.

    • @davidjohnson8474

      And it's only one of 136 built! One of the first 20 built

    I ordered one when first announced. I chopped it and rode it all over the West about half the time 2up with camping/travel gear. About 2 years of mostly travel and 115k miles. I disassembled it because I thought it would need a rebuild. The motor and transmission were perfect not showing any wear. Sadly, I never reassembled it as I had many other bikes that were larger. It was a really great motorcycle.

      That's really awesome, and your story backs up what I've always heard about their reliability.

    • @wtom1420
      @wtom1420 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      BTW you can kick start it by hand.....literally by hand. During my travels, the battery died. We didn't have money for a new one but it started easily with a push. I cut the mufflers off and ran straight headers. The only work ever done to it other than cosmetically was syncing the carbs once, and oil changes.

    I really enjoy seeing old stuff like this bike....I get to re live a bit of my teenage years ..remembering seeing bikes like this when they where brand new ...This one is in great shape ..I am sure you can find parts ...I would use some white lithium grease to lube any cables after cleaning them out with some carb cleaner or something similar

    I literally had the exact same bike for a long time. Had 1600 miles on it when I got it in 2016. It would scream and lean corners like a modern bike. Loved it, still have an extra tank incase I get another.

    Man that bike is like a time capsule..I had a 1973 350F and a 1975 550F back in the early 80s. They were both very reliable and fun to drive..raced the not so stock 550 many times..LOL Take care and enjoy the bike.

    • @RamblinAround
      @RamblinAround  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I sure wouldn't mind having a 550 myself. The guy I bought this one from has a couple CB750's as well. He said he'd be willing to let one go. I'm definitely considering it.

    What a great find, and it is in beautiful shape. That triple-tree break would be scary to see after a high speed run.. Worked at Honda shop three years in late 60's never seen that happen before.

    • @RamblinAround
      @RamblinAround  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm not sure how common the problem is, but we have another 350 that had the same thing happen. Thanks for taking a look my friend, I appreciate it!

    • @hmshyperion
      @hmshyperion 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RamblinAround I know this is 4 years late but that broken triple tree occurs when the pinch bolt is over - tightened. It's easy to do this. In my experience old Honda hardware and fittings are more fragile than other brands. Bolts, fasteners, clamps and brackets are lightweight and fragile, its easy to overtighten and break things. Lovely bike,

    Jeff what a great bike ! Back in the day while in school I had a CB 160 that I bought new in 1966 . I then traded it for CB 72 305 Super Hawk . Rode it for a few years and then traded it for a CB350 . All of them were great bikes . If I remember correctly the 160 was a little less than $600 00 tax title out the door ! Man those were the days. LOL . As always take care my friend and ride safe .

    Love this bike.....funny you did the same transition in bikes I did. I went from a Honda 50 minitrail straight into a Yamaha IT 175 2 stroke. It was quite the transition, I had to park next to a big piece of firewood on its end as a stool to get on it. I don't know what my dad was thinking nowadays but I wasn't complaining then lol.

    • @RamblinAround
      @RamblinAround  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My son actually made a similar leap as well. He went from a Kawasaki 90, straight to a KDX200 with a big bore kit. I guess I passed on the tradition :) I know one thing, I sure meet a lot of people that started out on a Honda 50. They must have sold a ton of those things.

  • @williamwintemberg

    Wow! That is an almost impossible find. Especially in that shape! I had one. I bought it used in 1978 or 79. Mine was a 1973 and the color was maroon. Mine had 4 into 4 pipes. Mine had been stored outside and wasn't nearly as nice as what you have found. Mine came with a couple of bent exhaust valves. Just a warning, you don't want to miss a shift with it. Needless to say, I did a lot of work on it. Then I got rid of it. I didn't realize at the time how valuable the bike would become or I would still have it. Honda didn't sell too many of those. They were really nice bikes and a pleasure to ride. Good luck with it! Sure is nice to see one in that kind of shape! Wow! Again, what a find!

I pulled the plugs, found that one had the gap completely closed off ( someone must have dropped it, then installed it without knowing ) I threw some new plugs in it and it ran amazing. I can't wait to get it fixed and find some good roads to ride it on. I ordered a couple different triple trees and a set of new tires. I'll get it all sorted out soon. Thanks for watching!

    If you can find the original exhausts get them. It never had dual exhausts, it had four of them. The sound from the 4 exhausts was better than any dual exhausts. The twins were sightly quicker but not faster. The 350 Four could pull 100mph with a solo rider, mine did. While if you sat straight up the max was about 90-95, hunkered down it would do an honest 100 mph timed via mile markers.
    Watch the head gasket and do check the valves, easy to do. The speedo cable can be removed. Stay away from the WD40, use a thin machine oil and flush it real good. Do that once in a while it will last forever.
    You scored. Great bike.

    Three years since you made this video and to this day it's hard to see two CB350FOURs with the same exhaust setup. Yes the original 4into4 was basically paper thin but they were beautiful, in my opinion. I believe if someone could recreate those there would be a serious market for them. I'm picking up a barn find in fairly good condition in a week or so but the photo shows some butt ugly pipes!

    I had a 550 four and I took it in trade after being used to a BMW. The Honda frame was just not too good when you compared it to a BMW. I was not too impressed with mine, it had to pull 6 grand to do 70MPH. It was top heavy and I didn't keep it too long. I rode Goldwings, which were impressive and still are.

Mine still has the original impossible to find 4 into 4 Honda exhaust. I am the third owner and when I got mine, it had been properly stored for 14 years.
