Shawn, I recently went down a rabbit whole being in the parts business for 25 years now on Pump seals. I found that a National seal actually has an integrated holder for the spring. The Rubber is actually formed around the spring holding it in place. There's no way it can discharge during installation. If you have one and have a ATP one take a look. ATP you can actually take it out by hand easy.

I always used the Fwd clutch pressure plate/hub to install the direct clutch assy. What you got saves a lot of pissing around.

@mountainsgarage so in this video you actually welded in the smaller piece of the adapter you cut didn’t you? Will that work in replace of finding the larger spacer you had on the table? Also, do you know how far forward a th400 converter normally pushes a flexplate in if spaced correctly? For say 800hp… thanks!

Hey Shawn,I wasn't sure how to contact outside of youtube comments, but I need one of those .400 spacers. Just let me know what I need to do. Thanks

I can't quite understand how this helps the LS thrust issue. If you've got thrust from the torque converter it's either pushing right there on the crank or on the flex plate. Since the flex plate is bolted directly to the crank, well, the thrust ends up in the crank either way. What am I missing?

The flex plate can bend, the hub cannot. They both push but one gets somewhat dissipated.

@@mountainsgarage ahh, that makes sense. Gives it some spring. Thanks!! Been learning lots on the TH400 from your videos and working on building my first one. I really appreciate all the knowledge you've shared.

How do I get in touch with you? I want to buy a converter spacer from you or how do I order one?
