Just watched "Lost River" for the first time. I was totally mesmerized by the beautiful images and loved the soundtrack. It reminded me so much of David Lynch's movies and Twin Peaks. No wonder, I now discovered, that just like Twin Peaks The Return (Season 3), Johny Jewel and The Chromatics made this great atmospheric music that totally matches the film. Love it!

I'm a fan of Twin Peaks and this film has that dark fantasy element to it. The music has stuck with me. Especially the dance scene between Iain and Saoirse. The lighting, the music, how they converse with each other, it's beautiful. "What if something happened, and we had to leave tomorrow? Would you come? Would you leave?" "Me and you?" Jacob Sever Well, its hard to explain, but its kind of melancholic for me, its evokes a feeling of people struggling, but not giving up. At least thats what i got from the tune and the vibes! And the use of the vocals felt euphoric for me. Haha thats just how i felt when i heard it. It reminds me of Phillip Glass's music, where he uses repetition and breaks to evoke emotion. I like it :)

I for one, felt melancholic, little sad after hearing this. Reminded myself of all the ideas of my good and evil, and how my perception of them changed.

Ceux qui sont encore riches viennent se défouler sur les femmes dans ces palais maléfiques...L’étrange chauffeur de taxi, seul étranger à la ville, commente... Et Bones avec toute sa jeunesse, sa fraicheur et ses espoirs essaie de briser la malédiction et cherche à emmener sa famille loin de cette ville à la dérive... Moi dans ce genre de film je ne cherche pas à tout comprendre, je me laisse porter et les images sont tellement belles que c'est facile ...

Steve Marlier If you want beautiful naturalist audiovisuals, Terrence Malick is a total poet, one of the best directors ever IMO, you should check his stuff out. His films don't have the ambient dread or anxiety like the ones you listed, they are more of an understated warmth and homeliness, but they are spectacular.
I just watched the movie and I really liked it I'm not saying that it's plot was magnificent because it wasn't but I don't think it was about the plot it was more about the pain and loss that everyone goes through once in their lives and once they've found a proper way to deal with it some things just may have to be left behind in the end no matter the emotional attachment or the dreams they thought they had in the end they might have to just let go.
