I KNEW I was missing something while listen to this legend. Imma grab myself a bottle and come up with something that bothers me, just for the sake of this theme.
Love songs express suffering to the end, but why do I still want to enjoy it, simply because I'm an artist Thank you for posting so I can relax and experience music
I heard this for the 1st time yesterday on our radio concert programe & was totally bewitched by the haunting melody. I must confess ,The Godfather Movie has never interested me, however after being blown away by this piece, I will ensure I watch it (movie) , then ,I hope, by putting the two together in my mind, the movie will not be as daunting as I have always imagined it to be (gruesome deaths & gangster revenge).. An absolute must-watch, if only for the gorgeous soundtrack. There are some gruesome scenes, but at its' core, it's a study in power, masculinity, patriarchy, love, loyalty and betrayal, in an isolated subset of society. Take away the violence & it's still an interesting exploration of these themes. Hope you enjoy it! & I recommend reading the novel as well. Very descriptive, and an interesting 'swap' of the protagonists as the story is told through their differing eyes. P.S; The 2nd movie is even better, one of my (and I think a lot of fans') all-time favorites

As is the same with many other Movie greats , even though there are gruesome and/or nudity scenes , if taken in context & looked at in the whole picture , they are actually not gruesome or similar, they serve to portray the scene as a whole.A case of . 'The English Patient' is a great example of this. It is based on the reflection of the personal lives of 3 characters torn apart in the Middle East in WW2. The 1 or 2 nudity scenes should be taken in context.(i.e. not trashy/tacky )as they serve to create the total picture & add to the depth & understanding of what is being portrayed .There is a lot to be taken from movies such as this that paint a picture of 'Life & Family Dynamics', if we choose to take note. I imagine The Godfather is a movie to be watched more than once or twice, because of it's depth & power. I look fwd to reading/viewing quietly on my own Thank You for your comments, very much appreciated. Peggy Wood.

@@SalmiShamsuddin FINALLY ! ! I watched it even though I stopped/paused & re-started it. I.M.H.O, the whole saga catches & embodies the fact that in some cases 'Family' is very powerful.(In this case it was with Michael, the 2nd son, he did not wish to be part of the business at all, but through the invisible family ties, he was unwittingly drawn in) The movie catches the viewer from the opening scene with the complexity & richness of the plot & is impenetrable through it's reputation, however despite the the intricacy, of it all, going back over parts enabled me to make some sense of it all. As for the gruesome scenes, they were not as bad as I imagined & in hindsight I feel that if these scenes were not in it, the plot /movie would fall flat. All in all in a nutshell I am very impressed & like yourself It will stay with me for a long time. I also feel that no matter how many times i watch it i will always find/learn something new each time. Movies such as this are what life is all about for sure.. Regards & thank you Peggy Wood
My father bought a music box when I was a kid. It has this melody music. I was very much attracted but never knew it was from a movie. Later in recent days, only came to know it is from God father. ❤ I waited for nearly 25 years to know this.

The story, acting and direction combined with this background music made a masterpiece decades ago which is still fresh and etched in the mind. After Sonny died, I was compelled to think why people (around me) behave in a manner and that we just cannot change people.
