I just have to ask but how much are the ayam cemani eggs? I’ve looked in to getting some and they were like 50 dollars which doesn’t seem right. I’m scared to try because I’m only 13 and ofc don’t have a lot of money to spend. But you guys are amazing and are actually the reason I even wanted chickens. @@LadyMeggo I saw they used harness. Check out their old videos of emus. As far as I recall they used dog harness when the emus were little. I might be wrong. Correct me if so

Sorry to hear about Debbie. At least she got to end her life at a loving, caring home, where she had the chance to swim free.
Would love the chance to hatch some Ayem Cemanis. We have tried in the past but all the eggs we've ever gotten were not even fertile. Would love to get some from a reputable breeder. Be more than happy with a half dozen so someone else can have a chance too.
Glad to see your Button Quail numbers are doing good. We have one but not sure what to do with it since it can't go with any of our other birds like we planned.
The only time they break our hearts is when they leave us. RIP Debbie ❤️

Chad over at Adler Farms uses a spray on the 'beefy boys' that really seems to keep the flies at bay. It might help Dolly and Mazie!
I’m so sorry about Debbie. I got 3 runner ducks this past March and just a couple weeks ago I lost 2 to a fox. What made it worse was that one had tried to come home but the fox got her before I could. The third duck was injured. I nursed her for a week and while her physical wounds improved her emotional wounds were keeping her from truly getting better. I could only get her to eat peas and some sardines. I broke when she climbed into bed with the chickens one night. I found her a good home that had other runner ducks and they texted me pictures and said she immediately started eating when she saw the other ducks. She looked very happy in the photos. Raising animals can be really rewarding but also very heartbreaking. You obviously give your animals a lot of love and care and you gave Debbie a great home for her final days and those last days are the important ones.

Love the fact the whole family is invested. We have 4 sons and now they are all doing chickens, ducks and Turkeys. And they find time to help mom and dad. Would love Ayam’s to add to our chickens and share with our boys....

I'm so sorry about Debbie. It's so tough to deal with the loss of animal life. I recently lost two foster kittens to Panleukopenia. Debbie had a wonder home and lots of love which is so important for animals especially during their last days. Hugs for all of you. Becky you are Wonder Woman! I can't imagine doing all the hard work in that farm you do on a daily basis while pregnant. My goodness lady! I loved seeing the farm and all the chores you y'all do on a daily basis. I am working towards moving to a property bans doing the same thing. Right now I'm laid up after ACL surgery but that is beside the point. I love your videos and the joy and love you all bring to your farm/homestead life. It is inspiring ☺️. Love all your videos!
im an american expat living in italy...im stuck here for who knows how long, due to my husbands medical issues. I miss the states so much! we have a flock of chickens, and also a flock of mixed pet birds. they keep me company, as I am here alone. I have one son and 2 grandsons and a granddaughter, they live in northeast Georgia. your children bring me such joy, as I remember how wonderful it was to enjoy the company and love of children's laughter. thank you for sharing your blessed life.

I would love to hatch the ayam cemani. I am 14 and trying to hatch some new chickens. My 16 chuckens all died because a fox killed them a month ago. Btw: you guys inspired me to take care of my chickens the way i do now

Man time flies by don't it, It feels like yesterday that y'all was in the small white house with the garden and when you first got bamboo. Maybe it's better to just take out the tub, fill the hole a little around the edges with dirt, and transform it into a semi-natural pond ... for the emus
I don’t know anything about emu’s swimming habits, but I wonder if the liking of the puddle is a preference to moving water or temporary water or simply a ”don’t bathe where you drink” kind of thing? But maybe they’d enjoy the aquatic life if that emu-shaped hole would be permanently filled…

Thanks for the update out and about on the farm. Baby bump is getting bigger ! and so are the boys. Me and my daughter would love one of those black chickens, but she will have to stick to her battery hen rescues who are so sweet and give her and us so many lovely eggs.

I already had chickens, pigeons, and rabbits but since watching your channel I now have hatched out my first two quail and have an incubator full of quail eggs. I used a family 40+ year old incubator and now have purchased a new one. I’m pretty sure I’m addicted. I have contemplated ordering Ayam Cemani eggs but they are a little out of this single mom’s price range. Love from our family to yours.

@J, I grew up in the farming community of NE Ohio. Horses , cows, steers, chickens, pigs and goats were common. Our parents, grandparents
and extended farming family were like Jake & Becky. One in the farming community learns life has RISKS and one must be aware. One lives with danger respectful of those dangers.
I personally think this is far, far better in character building than what I see the results of the "helicopter parents". Their offspring are the insane SJWs.

I'm a Missouri transplant. I'm from Charleston, WV, but now live with my sister and her family here in Excelsior Springs, which I think is close to you. I'm bed fast for the time being, and my sister has chickens, and we've hatched so coturnix quail and button quail. The incubator was set up beside my bed so I could care for the eggs and watch them hatch. A friend gave her a dozen eggs from her own chickens, and we hatched 11 out of 12, which is great considering she gave them to us to eat. Ha ha. Well anyway, I solo enjoy you and your family. Keeps me from being so homesick. You're a great little family. Be very proud!

A lot has changed in this farm I have been watching for more than 2 years

Your videos are what inspired us to start our little farm and it’s slowly growing. Also we recently lost our only aiyam cemani hen to a heat wave that hit us and are left with two roosters. Getting some eggs would be pretty cool now that we don’t have her.

I have been wanting Ayam Cemanis ever since I first saw them on your videos. I have silkies and love their all black complexion with the fluffy feathers. I think that the Ayam Cemani being all black is really interesting and I would absolutely love to add them to my flock.
