Randy Roads is WAY better than Slash. Slash and half the people on this list don't even deserve a honorable mention. As much as I love Rock N' Roll, you can't just base guitar playing off of how much you like the band. We all know classical guitar players have the most skill.

For people in the comments. It is important to evaluate not only the technique but the songwriting skills and impact on music.
You could come up with 1000 different lists from a 1000 different people. Any list is subjective and open to personal choice. But I think nearly everyone would question Richards ( Ronnie Woods is a better choice ) Harrison and Townsend over Gallagher, Morse or Buchanan. 😎👍

The "critics" always disliked BOC. They didn't like the "sci fi" references in their music. Buck is phenomenal in concert, plus a great singer. He is and always has been the heart and soul of BOC.
And he’s still touring every summer with BOC at local fairs and you can take the whole family because its cheap.

My opinion would be significantly different.
Randy Roads is WAY better than Slash. Slash and half the people on this list don't even deserve a honorable mention. As much as I love Rock N' Roll, you can't just base guitar playing off of how much you like the band. We all know classical guitar players have the most skill.

David Gilmour is my favorite but one guy that always seems to be missing from this list is Roy Clark! If you've ever seen him play Malaguena on the old comedy show The odd couple you know what I mean!! I actually think he's faster than Eddie Van Halen. When he plays Malaguena you can't even see his right hand!!!
