he has vocabulary but he compares movies with music (short version, for context min 19:58) , that is the problem with actors they don't see the marketing work behind the work and that makes them a bit ignorant. Music does not get picked up to be shown for money (dont get confused by radio streaming that works differently) whereas movies are. If it is commercial the movie theater will buy it if not it will get rejected.
Yeah it's such a shame when an actress like Scarlett or Margot Robbie or whoever gets hate simply for being a hot, witty and well-articulated woman! They deserve way more respect for their hard work and dedication, especially those actresses who also have to balance family life with their jobs like Scarlett, who is basically a single working mother!
@@utpalbasumatary Two incidents immediately come to mind: The first happened some time ago, but basically somebody leaked some private pics she had sent to her then-husband, and a lot of slut-shaming ensued. She's had to fight off many sexist comments during interviews, not to mention a lawsuit against a French writer who used her name and likeness in his erotic novel. There are people who to this day accuse her and other hot actresses like Margot Robbie of all sorts of bad things, like sleeping with Weinstein for roles (jealous losers unfortunately always exist to push forward their toxic ideas). The second is more recent: last year she received a lot of backlash for defending some of her "controversial" casting choices (e.g. playing a male-turned-female transperson). The way the media drummed up her comments made it seem like she had declared war on orphaned children or something, it was ridiculous. The woman was just saying that people shouldn't neg her over her role choices just because she's a "white cisgendered woman". (Again, in my opinion it's just the jealousy of a couple of losers, manifesting itself as fake social self-righteousness.)
Scarlett really is the full package, she's so intelligent and talented but she doesn't take her job for granted. You can see how much of a hard worker and how down to earth and humble she really is. I love the friendship and how supportive and respectful they are of each other!
I love how they talk about Chris's insecurity with asking for more takes. She is surprised, but gets him to elaborate about it and work through the issue, instead of him just letting the fear settle there on his shoulders. Then she gives a bit of advice. It feels less like an interview and more of just a talk between friends on the set of Chris's new movie.
I have the same problem as Scarlett with talking. Like we have a hard time expressing our thoughts that I just can't stop adding uhms, you knows and going back and forth with the topic until I form the correct sentence in my head. It's worse when you're on spot and you had to think quickly after a question. It disappears instantly though when you're comfortable enough to just voice out whatever comes to mind. Chris is really so kind to wait for her to finish speaking and didn't butt in. This was a really wholesome interview between friends who cares for each other.
I totally get. I also do it. I have been working on slowing down and taking my time to talk because I don't wanna sound stupid. Its just you need to organize your thoughts.
Talking is a representation of your thoughts. Words are not at 1:1 translation of your thoughts. So dont worry, you aren't broken, you just have to keep working those muscles
Beatriz Sá he’s so right that she and Adam deserve all the awards, as does Noah. It’s hard to believe that every word and nuance was in the script because they felt so natural in those parts.

They really go deep into the acting experience as well. Maybe because they are comfortable with each other, which leaves headspace to really dig into your memories and open up. It's different when you are anxious for reactions. Especially Chris seems very thoughtful, he has no guards up and really goes there, not afraid to show insecurities. Also interesting to see how different Scarlett is. I mean, she's also open and honest to go by the way how quick she's to reply, no filters there. But she comes across so very, very self-assured. I've got the "Ghost World" DVD, one of her early films, might have been minor age, and already there: Very extravert & outspoken, bubbly in an earnest way, very mature. Chris knows how to hold himself in public, be a handsome flirt, professional, short, to the point. Nice to see his more, I guess introvert (?) side here. Great to see how such different personalities have a common vibe. Lots to take away from this talk!

It's been amazing to watch the careers of these 2. They knew each other and worked together at least twice... many years before they were in the Avengers together. I think I saw both of their pre-Avengers collaborations many years before the Avengers came out. It's been satisfying to watch them go from little-known young actors to household names. I think the first movies I saw them in were American Rhapsody and Not Another Teen Movie... when they were just kids. Now they play a couple of the biggest superheroes in the movies.

Totally I had a similar comment. I think he is very eloquent and Taciturn is the new word that I learned and added to my vocab. I have marked 3 more words that I will look up. He is just so effortlessly articulate
@Alexander Supertramp no, you just don't get it. It's like saying, "football is not part of my life, it is my life". Of course football is part of his/her life, but the sentence emphasizes the statement. The same with my first sentence. Of course it helps, but there aren't other things that help. These are the only things. But yes, you're right. I missed listening to people speak, podcasts, or audiobooks also helps.
So much to learn from this. One massive thing is the eye contact and respect they have for eachother. They let eachother speak and listen intently. They aren't thinking about their dinner tonight or what they gotta do, they are putting their entire focus on who's in front of them. That's how a conversation should be.
Awesome to see childhood friends just having a talk about their careers, and after their time under the Marvel Studios umbrella. One of the best Actors on Actors episodes to date.
Funk O'Matic actually on Ellen Scarlett said she’s known him since she was 17 so at least from her perspective he’s a friend she’s known since childhood
Trinell Jones I get it. “Technically “ it’s childhood. The cut off has to be somewhere, but I would argue that some would say it ends at 13. I went to a district high school where most of the kids knew each other since elementary. I came in 9th grade at 14, and I don’t feel like they’ve known me since childhood, but they have known me since I was a very young person. At 17 you’re almost an adult.
I feel like you don't realize how much interviewers & talk show hosts tend to interrupt the guests until they're removed from the situation and the focus is actually on the artists & their work (& how much care & support chris & scarlett have for each other's movies? it's so sweet. it's so nice to see an interview where both parties passionately care about the content they're talking about... it's so rare in 2019 to see this)
yeah. 90% of the time interviewers/hosts ask retarded questions anyway and it's just annoying to watch. either let actors talk to each other, or have one good interviewer in a cast interview
I agree. And most of the time they dont' even listen because they have to move on to the next question. Larry King is the worst. Can't stand watching his interviews. I like these actors on actors because they truly understand and actually listen.
Their friendship is so genuine and beautiful because of their genuineness. I loved how direct, clear, and specific Scarlett's compliments were. I also loved how she went to his play. Chris also emphasized that she was his only actor friend to go. That loyalty and support is amazing and literal fire. I loved seeing them on screen together and now I can tell why I loved them together so much. Their connection is so there. Looking forward to more from them.
I feel like you can gain so much insight on acting just by listening to Evans talk. He spills so much more information where other actors seem reserved.

The way Scarlett looks at Chris is so endearing, as she's grasping on every word he says, and really, is enjoying the moment spent together, while, interviewing one another as actors & good friends. Their friendship is close & genuine.😊
A few years ago, I thought Chris Evans didn't talk much about his personal life because he parties a lot and is a player and maybe, because of his role in the public eye, some of that has transferred to him. But at the core, it shows that he's clearly thought deeply about the world and his role in it, and his own demands on himself and his life. He can articulate himself fantastically and shares so many rare insights into his thoughts. The public labels him far too easily, he has so much to offer beyond his career. The conversations with Scarlett show how intelligent they both are and how little platform there is in normal interviews to show their true personalities.
The Perfect Score, The Nanny Diaries, Marvel's Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Solider, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame.
On a personal note, as someone whose first language isn't English, Chris's eloquence in expressing his thoughts is superb. He has excellent vocabulary and even observes correct grammar rules (Scarlett does too) which we know can be ignored in spoken English. This is such a substantive conversation. Both of them are good speakers and listeners. I wish I could find one. 😔

“Taciturn. “Crestfallen.” “An embarrassment of riches.” Chris Evans, marry me. Also, the level of maturity in this interview is refreshing and delightful.
I don't care for all gold, cause I'm of a fair, pale, ivory complexion and gold doesn't really work unless it's in beautiful darker skin, imo. But those heels omg! They look good. (Then again some of the credit goes to Scarlett's heels lol)
@My name is Steve Rogers this isn't day to day conversation, so it isn't abnormal at all.. If you give a presentation in front of a bunch of people that your reputation is hinging on, are you going to speak in the same exact way you do with your friends when casually hanging out? That's goofy. This is an interview that crazy amounts of people are going to see and judge him on. Having said that, the fact that he's always able to maintain this amount of intelligent speaking in almost any unscripted interview or press conference he's been in, so clearly he's still a well spoken man and isn't just trying to come across any certain way.
@@Nazaba09 fair enough but still. Some people see in those characters what they wish to see in themselves or in the people around them. Natalie Zayas-Bazan that’s not what he meant. People come to the theatre to see characters they can project their personalities onto and relate to. That is a form of escapism in and of itself.

I can't stress this enough. Chris is extremely articulate and his anxiety that shows. Their friendship is beautiful. I would have loved to see more candid moments, like when Chris asked about Scar's daughter.
One of the best ones yet. I think its more rewarding to watch people that have worked together and have chemistry then putting two random actors together
Abhishek Bharti I think it’s because they give the actors time to talk and explain things. This video is 42 min after editing. On a talk show you get like 5-10 min to convey things. Not a lot of time to delve into anything, especially when you’re there promoting something and you’re supposed to speak about that.

Whoever came up with the "Actors on Actors" idea deserves a huge raise. These are always wonderful, but there is something especially cool about listening to two terrific actors who are long-time friends IRL. I also totally agree with their take on the Scorsese "controversy." I have gotten to the advanced age where I have heard the "this isn't [cinema, music, art, writing, etc.]" a thousand times; often said about work that is later considered to be a classic form of whatever the naysayer was talking about. Getting tired of it. We live in a world where ScarJo can appear in Avengers Endgame, Marriage Story and JoJo Rabbit in the same calendar year. Brie Larson can star in Captain Marvel and Just Mercy and direct and star in Unicorn Store on Netflix. That's all a good thing, Marty's criticisms notwithstanding.
Scorsese's comment was often taken out of context, blown up out of proportion, and the commentaries on his commentary often misquoted, so that he finally became misrepresented. He wasn't trying to downplay the efforts that go into these kind of movies, he was commenting on the fact that the way they are made is very different to the way the cinema he has been involved in and loves, that they have changed the market landscape, and that he's afraid they might become the norm cinema as a whole is being judged by. He suggested that for the concept of serialised cinema there should maybe exist another term, because it is so different from the traditional movie making and movie watching experience. At least that's how I understood him when he tried to explain his views in more detail.

I know! This man is so articulate! God bless him!
He does not 'wike' it.
he has vocabulary but he compares movies with music (short version, for context min 19:58) , that is the problem with actors they don't see the marketing work behind the work and that makes them a bit ignorant. Music does not get picked up to be shown for money (dont get confused by radio streaming that works differently) whereas movies are. If it is commercial the movie theater will buy it if not it will get rejected.
Exactly, I was like, who on earth has a casual conversation flowing with beautiful vocabulary like him.
Now I really hope he writes (^_^)
Scarlett is such a sweet woman. She doesn't deserve the hate she has received on social media.
What!?..sorry I dont have social media. Can you tell me what happened?
@@utpalbasumatary Two incidents immediately come to mind:
The first happened some time ago, but basically somebody leaked some private pics she had sent to her then-husband, and a lot of slut-shaming ensued.

Niks Cruz i dont know about you, but it wouldn’t be really that annoying if she had some vocabulary... and I am not even a native English speaker.
If you have a friend with a bad stuttering problem you learn to hold your tongue well. There is no point in being a dick.
Niks cruz me too.
Marriage Story is Scarlett's best performance ever. She deserves the Oscar more than anything.

Scarlett is actually nominated for Golden Globes best actress. I just finished watching was really amazed by her and Adam's acting. Just wow
I agree. It was not all just Adam in the movie. Scarlett blew me away. I was so drawn to her character and as a person. I know every woman who has lost love and themselves along the way could relate to her story. I could go on!

Didn't expect to watch the entire 40 minutes but I did. The power of brilliant actors who actually have a genuine friendship.

So much to learn from this. One massive thing is the eye contact and respect they have for eachother. They let eachother speak and listen intently.
Trinell Jones 17 is not childhood
BLK CHLD childhood-the period during which a person is a child. At age 17 you are legally for all intents and purposes still a child hence childhood
In a USO tour interview Chris said they have know each other since they were basically children and scarlett was like I was 17 I was not a child

He’s so very well articulated, and it’s amazing! He is a perfect Cap actor, and I wish they went a different route with Cap. With a character they have actually developed. If you’re gonna keep a name in the books, let the person receiving that name more characterization in a movie or something first
I can't stress this enough. Chris is extremely articulate and his anxiety that shows. Their friendship is beautiful. I would have loved to see more candid moments, like when Chris asked about Scar's daughter.
So Chris is extremely human and doesn't want to feel soulless or disconnected from the audience... that's why we love him!
One of the best ones yet. I think its more rewarding to watch people that have worked together and have chemistry then putting two random actors together
These interviews are very candid and better than normal ones.
Abhishek Bharti I think it’s because they give the actors time to talk and explain things. This video is 42 min after editing. On a talk show you get like 5-10 min to convey things. Not a lot of time to delve into anything, especially when you’re there promoting something and you’re supposed to speak about that.
Also if they know each other in real life and are genuine friends..

God did too much when he created Chris Evans. Damn.
