@@MrCeek It became all about money, that's what happened. Some of the best movies ever made also had the lowest budgets, why is that? Because when you don't have a lot to work with you really need to put out a quality product. When Vice became mainstream and received big injections of capital, they stopped being edgy and started catering to a wider audience. Then you had all the founders cashing out and most of the original essence of Vice was lost. Finally sprinkle in some editorializing from the investors and now you're left with a milquetoast product that appeals to no one, hence why they filed chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Please bundle all of the Russian Roulette episodes into bunches like this! That was the best Crimean crisis journalism hands down.

Hard to explain it in a short however they are fucked quite simply. 1. Russia won’t help them. 2. Police or North Korean agents will likely arrest them and they’ll have worse consequences for themselves and/or their family. This being said, once you miss role call, it wouldn’t be long til they’re knocking on your children’s door. 3. Being North Korean you’ll stick out like a sore thumb trying to escape. Going by where these guys recorded, you’ll be so far away from a country that will give you refuge and the weather is so cold plus you have no money and probably can’t read Russian to know where you’re going. You’ll need food and with no money and probably no survival training you’re gonna steal and where does that lead.. 😊

Siberia had seasons inbelieve. I couldn't imagine how rough these folk have it in the winter. Pure misery, I can imagine
siberia has very warm summers, yes the winters are super harsh and long, but they do get like 2-3 months a year of 30 degree heat (celsius), its also mostly pine trees, so they dont drop their leaves during the winter. wastelands like you said are located south of siberia, in mongolia, kazakhstan etc where you only have steppes and deserts with little vegetation

@@SeverusStudios1980 that documentary was made about 13-14 years ago, im not entirely sure about the north korean camps situation nowadays, what im sure of is that there are plenty of abandoned ones in the area. anyway like it was said in the video, there is not much there other than trees and random, very small villages/towns scattered so much that its hundreds of kilometres between them, so i wouldnt be so enthusiastic about it lmao. if you think you could go on a hike and walk from one town to another, that would probably take you like a month walking everyday for 20km, its that scattered
