Halo Infinite Soundtrack: Post Rock Medley (Multiplayer Menu)

- I really love postrock and when I heard that Halo Infinite was going to incorporate the genre into their soundtrack, particularly in multiplayer, I was excited. From what I've heard so far, it's great. It's nice to hear guitars and rock in Halo again after so many years. And while it's great to hear the Halo Infinite Halo Theme/The Warthog Run making a return, it's nice to see some variation in the music department akin to the Bungie games.
So after searching through TH-cam again, I compiled all Halo postrock tracks I could find into one video like those postrock and lofi/hip-hop channels so that people can enjoy the music whenever (for studying, writing, concentration, etc). I also added some nice concept art for each track to mix it up a little visually.
This compilation can also be considered as a Halo Infinite Multiplayer Menu Suite as well, though I edited the tracks so that they would flow well with one another.

Dude I know. I've been writing a sci-fi story for some time and post rock is the perfect music for it. Hopefully, more sci-fi stuff incorporates this.

Totally agree. I’ve fallen in love with the No Mans Sky soundtrack and I haven’t even played the game! I never thought of mixing it with Halo vibes but it works so darn well
it seems almost inherent to the genre of music, the feeling of "going up", which to me seems to be the reason of meshing so well with the sci-fi thematic

8:00-9:00 favorite track. giving me serious ODST vibes with that percussion, and that synth in the later half is giving me iconic vibes
To me it gives me some halo wars vibes
The Menagerie is strong in that piece, but I can see some of the Halo Wars influence as well.

You are correct. It is Menagerie's drum loop with the E-Dorian motif from Halo 3's theme mixed together. Very distilled Halo essence.
Hearing the music at 9:00 after a good match with a friend is me finally getting to experience that feeling people had with Halo 3’s multiplayer back in 2007

I finally played Halo Infinite and when I herd this tune, I was hypnotized by how beautiful this score is! 9:00 to 10:00 is definitely the best part!

I didn't even know post rock existed before July 28, but now it's my favourite genre.
I recommend you a few post rock bands. My favorite one is hubris and if you want music that sounds like this one, their album Apocryphal Gravity is a banger. Best track is Deimos to Phobos Part 1
If you ever played No Mans Sky, it kinda touched Post Rock to mainstream media with work from 65daysofstatic. I can easily see Halo bringing a lot more light onto it finally.
If you don't mind heavier stuff either, look up Ju on bandcamp and listen to his Eoli album. The first two tracks are all you need to hook you in. Love his stuff, listen to Chroma after Eoli and then Contrast.
Might be a bit on the heavier side, but I recommend Russian Circles

Man whoever was in the Studio did not have to go this HARD, but they did. 🤟🏼 Been using this for my workouts both Resistance training and Cardio, this tune just boosts my mood.

Ahhhhh man!!! Loved the way Infinite uses post rock to set the tone of sitting down and waiting for your next match with your friends. The tracks feel chill but badass at the same time. I think using this genre is gonna differentiate Infinite form other mainstream FPS's like CoD or BF.

Post rock isn't entirely new to Halo. There's a bit of it in Halo 2's and Halo Reach's OST I believe. Good to see it make a return tho.

Neil Davidge only composed like 3 tracks in Halo 4, Kazuma Jinnouchi did the rest in 4 and 5.

I'm glad rock is returning to Halo, but I do appreciate what Kazuma and Neil did in terms of soundtracks. 117 is easily one of the best music pieces in the franchise and personally my second favorite after the Halo theme.

Factual but gotta say halo 4 and 5 did have its moments when it came to music like 117 or the light is green really set the atmosphere beautifully but after that it kind of flat lined

18:00 hits me the hardest. The goosebumps of thinking about the new generation of Spartans training and waiting to fight for humanity (probably against the banished) knowing that Infinity was destroyed and that they could be hunted down and killed at any time but then this music with it's glory, reminds me who is boss.

There's also some subtle nods to the Halo Wars 2 menu music in there

I know everybody was disappointed to not get Marty back for Infinite, but THIS is the best Halo soundtrack I've heard since he left, ever since I heard parts of these songs used for the MP reveal, I knew the OST was gonna be the one. 5:23, the delicious chord progression is exactly the same as the choir in Never Forget from H3. Definitely adds to feelings of nostalgia.

I got into post rock into around 2019-20 when the pandemic started. It was so suprising to see it in halo infinite when i played the closed beta.
7:37 is the best part and as a Halo Vet I have to say I fell in love again with the Soundtrack.. I didnt think it was possible

I was at an amazing post rock concert in 2001, the band was Godspeed! You Black Emperor and I can't believe 20 years later the genre is finally getting some mainstream recognition. If you like this you should also look for an amazing band called Do Make Say Think.

It's amazing how closely Synthwave and Post rock reside to one another, combining them makes for the ultimately sci-fi experience..... this is still one of the best fucking tracks I've heard in decades, I've been playing for almost 100 hours and I still find myself just jamming to the track in the menus... it's too fucking good lol

13:26 is my favorite with those bells. It makes you feel like you're standing in an ancient cathedral, long since lost to history and the world.
Infinite's soundtrack really is amazing stuff, especially the MP menu medley.
what i really love about this ost is the bass 808 synths, they act like this ethereal glue that amplifies the post rock sounds they incorporate and just allows the all of the halo sounds to quite literally fall into place

I loved h4 soundtrack, 117, wreckage and the light is green are tracks that I'll hold forever in my heart, these new composers that are working on infinite are incredible too, it doesn't matter which halo you play, is guaranteed that the music will be absolutely incredible.
Probably infinite will have my favorite soundtrack, these pieces sound really dark/tragic like h4 and h5 but they also sound hopeful, which imo sums up masterchiefs story pretty well at this point, I'm so excited for this game omg

This gives me hope for something that is already dead. It's so good. It's almost disgusting that it's paired with Halo Infinite. This song is like a nostalgia trip across all of the halo games and welcoming you to Infinite.

I played this game since launch and this music is ingrained into my mind. On Thanksgiving and winter break I would play this game for hours on end and this music was there a long side me after every win and loss. It feels nastolgic I've though it's only been a year.

The reason you didn't pick up a lot of Ori is probably that the post-rock stuff should primarily be Alex Bhore.
I'm hoping they'll drop track titles for these as I am in flippin LOVE with this music! Being a fan of this amazing universe since the very beginning and a drummer, this is scratching two itches at once and I am dying to cover these myself once I have all of them memorised which will be easy as I'll be listening to this on repeat! 😂. @@Drafnyr yeah bud there's such a steady flow to it that manages to focus you and hype you up at the same time which is no easy thing to pull off with music composition.
It feels futuristic and grounded in our time all at once and is a beautiful combination of that classic military sound we know from other FPS titles and still having that Halo feeling to it. Everything about this game (minus the bs progressions system and microtransactions shit pile) is what Halo is all about and it feels so damn good to have it back again!
