  • Hello and Welcome, I’m the Autistic Modeler,
    Today we are going to build the 1976 Cadillac Eldorado Rancher by Jo-Han. This is an old kit. It was already open when I bought it. With kits like this, you often see warping, missing pieces, brittle materials, just to name a few of the common issues that come with older kits. Most people would keep it as a collectible. I’m gonna build it. Watch along and share your thoughts about this build. I love getting tips and tricks from other skilled builders and would appreciate your feedback. If you like my first video, please like and subscribe for updates on my next video posting. Thanks for watching!
    Until next time,
    - the Autistic Modeler

    Nice build! I remember getting that kit when I was in my teens. Painted it dark green. It was missing the hood ornament when I got it. Course its long gone now. I hope some day these kits get reissued some how.

    I love Jo Han kits. I used to have this and sold it on eBay. I’m kicking myself for selling it .

    "we're gonna try n get all this contraption put back in this El Dorado" - that got an actual LOL from me! The rancher turned out great. I need to jot your finds and fixes down for when I have a go at mine...

    Beautifully done on your Cadillac Rancher! Outstanding work and detail! I want this kit so bad, I saw one on ebay but it's almost $200! Wish one of these companies, would get a hold of these kits and bring them back 😊

    Great job on this kit. Nice that you moved the distributor to the front of the engine. I think Johan reused the engine and chassis from an Oldsmobile Toronado kit, probably to save on tooling, as that engine looks like the 455 Oldsmobile engine, that's why the distributor was at the rear in the instructions. Sweet build and keep up the good work.

      By the time this kit was issued Jo-Han had their tooling quite spread out and it was common to find wrong year interiors and dashboards added just to get a kit on sale again. Good chance that is the entire Olds chassis.

    You could never be sure what year Cad you’d get in these releases, most of these were the 1976 but earlier versions might be anywhere from 1972 to ‘76 with very similar artwork depending on when they were issued.

    Slowly catching all your builds you have, I enjoy your style and personality you present with your builds! This was a great bos art build, I can't say i've ever done one that close. Especially liked the cow hide seats! That was a great idea.

    You know what? I’ve never been interested in any of this stuff, but YOU make it so interesting! This is really awesome, man. But the videos are making me miss you even more! Y’all coming to STL any time soon? Or… ever?

      Also, did it come like that? With the thing missing and other pieces in ziplocs? I don’t know anything about these things. 😊

    • @TheAutisticModeler
      @TheAutisticModeler  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a vintage kit, it originally was just thrown in the box. So I put it in a baggie so none of the pieces would get lost.

    The car on the box is in 1974 Eldorado the car inside the box is a 76 what's up with that?

    • @TheAutisticModeler
      @TheAutisticModeler  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Apparently pretty common with Johan. They used tooling from different years. I guess they thought kids wouldn’t notice.
