sony 6700 is a chunk a shit!!
I have a UB9000 and an older Oppo-203. Both are excellent 4K HDR players but 9000 edges out the 203 when it comes to HDR10. Its HDR Optimizer gives it an advantage. Dolby Vision on both players is about equal. Where the 9000 falls down, however, is playing MKV and MP4 Video files via its USB input over a network. It is limited in the kinds of video and audio encoding in these files it can handle. It can't playback lossless audio (Atmos, DolbyTrue, DTS-HD or DTS:X) if they are encoded in a video file. It can't play E-AC3 audio as well. It also can't recognize chapter marks in MKV files. The 203 can do all of this and more. That having been said however, the 9000 is my primary disc player and the 203 is my primary video file player. It's nice to have those options. One last note, the Panasonic UB820b has the exact same video processing and picture quality as its big brother, the UB9000 so aside from a less robust physical build and lacking some very advanced audiophile abilities, at half the price of the 9000, for most, it is the way to go.
UB420 Panasonic is my choice. It is good enough for me. 😊
Nice. I own a 9000 alteady 4 years but where are the Magnetars?
My Sony x700m is in for a warranty service. This player has a issue with freezing near the end of a movie, all new disc 1st time playing so its easy to know its the player. After the fact i now read others had the same issue but are out of warranty.
Sometimes there are malfunctions but overall product is reliable.
Have you tried using the recommended settings of turning the 4k upscaling off and letting your tv do that, and setting the Cinema conversion mode to Video instead of Auto? Seems to have solved many people's problems from my research. Just got one of these on clearance at Target for $78 plus tax. Love it so far and no issues using these settings (knock on wood).
@@pickadviserseems to be very common with the Sony and freezing
I returned mine and got the Panasonic 820. Seen many others on Reddit say the same. Also it does not auto switch for Dolby vision which is frustrating when that should be a simple feature
This player Is crap never seen so many negative reviews on ebay
I got the Sony X800 last month..ok for a few weeks then started freezing on different new disks..found out it has these issues and a video on here to adjust some settings which didn't stop the freezing so I've sent it back to Amazon for a refund and will get a Panasonic.. disappointed that Sony hasn't sorted this issue as I liked the brand for a long time and still use my Sony AMP now that I've had for 30 years.
They can fix it as we see on the ps5 but it's not worth it for them to fix it. Spending more money making a product that people won't buy 🤷🏾♂️ they are okay with people just buying the Panasonic 820. They want you to buy their discs anyway that's where all the money is at lol
I got a sony bdp s350 is that good for 2024 i have a 1080p tv
Thank you for the information.
How good is the Sony UBP X800 M2. To fit a a Denon AVR and a LG OLED 4K TV 2023.
Mine was freezing for each 4k disk I tried
In 2024, the MAGNETAR UDP 900 is the best universal player you can buy.
Is panasonic generally better than sony? For bluray players?
I heard some sony players freeze often. Go Panasonic!
ONLY! Panasonic !!!
Thank you for sharing your feedback.
@@pickadviser always !
I bought sony x800m2 freezing to each 4k dis i tried
@@emmanueldeveaux8126 i have found, that SONY functioning ONLY a specified period, then go "successfully" off... Which is NOT by Panasonic !
@@emmanueldeveaux8126 I have the 800m2, too. First, the discs freezed. It got repaired. Three years after, it freezes again. Never again.
Is Internet required to use a blu ray player? I like to own what I buy instead of being allowed to use what I pay for only if I pay for an app or even Internet service. I've heard that you need 'net to prove you're not stealing the movie or something and requires updates come up all the time. Wondering that the truth is. Thanks.
List forgot Pioneer LX500. This list is not accurate. Sony X800M is far superior than 700.
Thanks for the feedback. It would be difficult for us to review wide range of products in limited timed video. But you can always share and recommend your own choices with us.
I got the Sony UBP x800 and its awesome...
X800M2
I have the 700. Why is the 800 better?
I've read too many complaints about freezing on the X700 and X800M2. Sony doesn't care to fix this.
I have a Panasonic ub820 for 3-4 years and it doesn't read my 4k disks anymore. I cleaned my disks and it still doesn't read them. I spent $450 on this machine and it's very disappointing and frustrating!!
They all mess up not worth it
@fabolousjada5070 Yes it's a good machine but when they go down it's a hard pill to swallow. Very disappointing 😞
wHAT ABOUT WATCHING MEDIA FROM EXTERNAL USB HARD DRIVES????!!! WHY DON'T ANY OF YOU "EXPERTS" TALK ABOUT THAT!!!!!
Lgubk90 is discontinued not selled anymore
As per research, these are still available on amazon. You can check it again and give us the feedback.
LG UBK90: amzn.to/3oMoOAw
pana 820
I have the 820. It is good but not that good
We appreciate sharing of your experience, which may vary.
I had the Panasonic UB820 for 2 weeks. The user interface was mediocre, but played most discs fairly well. I appreciate the fact that it auto-detects Dolby Vision, but the internet functions, including the apps, were terrible, constantly freezing, and just showing a black screen. Also, the response to the remote key clicks were very, very slow. What a waste of money.
This list makes no sense at all
Why list the x700 Sony rather than the much better x800 🤷♂️
What's considerably better about it?
Better build, able to play SACDs.
Thanks for your feedback. We are reviewing the product that you have mentioned and will come up with a review soon.
The X800M2 still has the freezing issue. Sony never fixed it from the X700.
@@DesertbikerAZThe 700 plays SACD as well. The 800 is more robustly made but the performance is similar.
