I have a disabled runner duck called Pop. He does live like a regular duck (outside with his flock of five, including his brother, sister and two much younger females), but he has a condition where he walks oddly and his feathers can only produce about half the necessary oils to keep him dry. He's very friendly, and when you're not looking - ONLY when you're not looking - he'll sneak up behind you and try to jump on your head. Only, being a disabled duck, he can just about get off the floor. He's white, like Wrinkle, but he was born with this little black spot on his head that comes back in winter and then leaves again in summer. He has a very odd habit of eating the feathers of other birds - I have read before that this is a sign of poor nutrition, but this is definitely not true because we keep him like he's our child!! Also his brother does it too. But his brother's weird. Pop also has this habit of attacking things ONLY if they're orange. Not red, not pink, not yellow as well, JUST orange. If I'm wearing an orange glove then he'll bite it, and then when I take it off he'll do his trademark Happy Rasp and gently nibble my hand, like he used to do as a duckling. He also hates my orange long-sleeved top. Anyway, he's turning two years old this month, so please wish him a happy birthday!!
