I find it somewhat disappointing this one didn’t get a console port. Oh well. I’ve never played these ones but I do want to. I’ve got the other two on my PS5 after all. I have played 2D Touhou fighters before but only from the 2000s. Hisoutensoku is the fuckin’ goat btw! Imagine what a Touhou Project crossover with the Tales of franchise would be akin to Marvel vs. Capcom. It would be a (mostly) 2-on-2 tag team fighting game made using Ikemen GO by a group of dedicated fans of both franchises. There would be at least 40 playable characters at the start (half of them being from Touhou including PC-98 characters and the other half being from Tales, just imagine the team ups we’d get like Marisa Kirisame and Arche Klein or Luke fon Fabre and Onozuka Komachi and such) with Shizel from ToE and Junko being the big bads here with Shizunko (a fusion of Shizel and Junko together) being the true final boss btw and it’s not gonna be an easy opponent to take down either. There would be an arcade mode (2-on-2 tag is default btw but you can also play single as well), story mode (play from the Touhou side or the Tales of side), versus mode, survival mode, challenge mode (similar to Events from Melee) and of course, a boss rush mode as the game would include bosses to fight as well, mostly from the Tales side such as Yuris, Ultra Kronos, Geyorkias, Shaorune and more but there would also be Sariel and the giant catfish from the Touhou side as well, maybe more bosses in the future, who knows. Honestly, that would be so fucking cool. Realistically, it would never happen officially but as a dedicated fan game, yes. Anything’s possible in the realm of fan games after all. It’s also my wish btw.
