This one's got Yanni back to my mind. Two reasons: 1) the precision with which the each member of the (Solid) band rendered their parts, with a special mention of virtuoso Stephen Devassy (although live performances are often marred by tiny half-note errors, Yanni's performances are near flawless and this one from SD is right up there); 2. the composition, though titled Desi, has some amazing moments of Western and Indian classical+folk nuances blended to superb effect and Yanni is a master at a ingenious innuendos. A nice 20 second drum jugalbandi at 2:00 and the dhol coming in soon after that. Bassist wowed with a 2 sec stunner at 4:30. I'm glad there's a fantastic bunch of professionals SD is now associated with. Give us some more please.
