    Guardiola's style and philosophy is called Positional Play which is the most important aspect in Total Football. Tiki taka is a term used by people who really do not understand Total Football.

    • @marshjj3788

      There's nothing wrong with saying tika taka everyone understands what it means

      Correct. Barca's total football was a sight to behold!

    • @thuo1000
      @thuo1000 3 ปีที่แล้ว +125

      @@marshjj3788 Do you understand the difference between Positional play and tiki taka? Also you are wrong. Not everyone understands what positional play is so they end up thinking that Positional Play and tiki taka are the same thing. Like I said positional play and tiki taka are 2 completely different things.
      An example, Guardiola's Barcelona played Positional play. Guardiola's Bayern Munich also played positional play. Guardiola's Man City play postional play.
      An example of a tiki taka team is the Spanish National team, and the current Barca team. Vincente del bosque's spanish team played tiki taka NOT positional play. Most people think that Guardiola's Barcelona and Del Bosque's National team played the same football. Well, they did not. You have to understand football in its detailed form to understand the difference. Guardiola's Barcelona played Positional Play while the Spanish National team played Tiki taka. The current Barca team play tiki taka as well but a more boring version.
      Tiki taka is passing the ball with little penetration. It focuses more on horizontal passes rather than vertical and diagonal passes. Tiki taka is quite boring and ineffective most times because it does not focus on penetrating the opposition's defensive lines. Look at Man City for example. They also play a possession-based game but completely different to that of Barcelona. Man City are more dangerous and more exciting to watch. Their passes focuses on vertical movement rather than sterile horizontal passes. Vertical and diagonal passes break down the opponent's midfield and defensive lines and it is very difficult to stop. Man City is a perfect example of a team that executes positional play NOT tiki taka.

      Stale? City was the best this season and will be the best next season. The fact that they didnt win epl doesnt mean anything. Look at all the advanced parameters in football. There is nothing like a best style in football. Did Guardiola's style win him trophies, Yes. Did Mourinho's style win him trophies, Yes. Guardiola best season ( 100 pt, 106 goals), Mourinho's best season ( 100 pt, 121 goals) this was with a style of football some people term "anti-football ". The notion that one style is better than another is just individual preference. I admire Pep's style, it is quite beautiful to watch but I like Mourinho's style better: solid defence and the pulsating and breathtaking counters which is always a sight to behold. At the end of the day, the best style is the style that gets the best out of players.

      I prefer Mourinho and Klopp, they are better managers. Klopp can make any players champions and a winning team and do well in leagues and Europe took 2 teams to champions league finals and won jt and looks capable of soing it many times again. I cant see Pep doing that.
      Mourinho walks into arguably richest clubs as well but wins champions league at Porto and Inter. I think that speaks volumes about Mourinho adaptability. I would put money on Mourinho winning champions league before Pep

    In this change of positions of the players on the field and changing places during the match and replacing one player with another for rotation in each next match, he created a "mechanism" that works like a wheel, in which the spokes (players), serve as a support for the disc (team ), which, spinning, overcomes the path, gaining acceleration and breaking records at a distance! A sort of marathon runner! That's why he stumbled in the Champions League, because the Champions League is a very short route and you need a sprinter, not a marathon runner! Guardiola needs to adapt to these conditions! As they say - there is always something to learn! I am glad to help in training, I am a psychologist! Pass this text to Guardiola, he will find this information useful!

    Johan was a Revolutionary & he Guided The Student into a good path that his student went on to create history & at a young managing age considered among the Elites. He doesn't weight on wins but rather how player plays & wins & that's just Great & among the reasons why his teams never get dominated. Next Factor is Money , everyone not wins with money but how well they spend. I can be financially good at the beginning of 2010 & had spent my money on hoes & drugs could be broke now or I had spent money on good stuff & now I'm rich.

    I've said it before & I'll still say it ! Consistency is what Makes Pep above all & the way he wins & loses the match . At city , he's been pretty unlucky coz individual player mistakes costs him UCLs & injuries to players that Happens at a crucial time . City doesn't have System & that's why they're dangerous , there's nothing to exploit & they lose when Players make mistakes like the sterling miss , Mendy & a bit of bad luck . His football is a treat to watch & his stint at Bayern was average but I don't blame him there , why ? After winning the UCL with Jupp , the whole Bayern team lost their shit & a Masterclass from Messi made them drop . This season Bayern won but I consider Kimmich as the best Player , plenty of reasons for that . Next season once they sign Koulibaly , it'll be hard for Liverpool & I think even Chelsea is very good . Lack defence tho

    People forget that the last itme high press football was dominant form was duringg 70s early 80s..
    Tikitaka is a more modern version of high press football which is why Pep always had trouble with other high press teams.
    However, in the mid 80s.. football changed due to Italians bringing back the catapult defending style/. bring an end to high press football. causing teams like Liverpool and Barcelona to go into dormancy. Come 2010, the high press makes a come back in the form of Peps Barca and football changed Again
    I fully expect the next football changer will be a defence based old catapult based strategy.. Which team will bring it? I dont know but I believe teams like Napoli are upto something
