  • Lifan advertised this bike as same but when you get it you get a completely street naked bike. At first I wasn’t a believer and I had no faith that this bike would last after 4,000 miles. Mainly because all of the others didn’t.
A man once asked me when will you get a real bike? I told the man, I will keep on buying new Chinese bikes with different engines until I’ve found the one that will do the trip that I does without it breaking down. I believed with almost a year, starting end summer with beginning of Spring, this bike has proven itself worthy for more investment.
This is the Harley-Davidson Road King look with a large rear Trunk box wired all LED and through brake lights. If you have seen another video like this before this let me know otherwise this is the only channel that makes these Chinese bikes looks good if not convinced you that not all Chinese bikes are made equal and some are even as equal as their competitors.

Hey David! Love the bike ! I installed the same plastic saddlebags on my 2006 Virago 250 two years ago and they're holding up well. I wired the lights for brake lights only (always nice to have people see your slowing down!) I think I paid $60 for the pair from the big on-line store! LOL! I'm am surprised they're still holding up .. (same loose lock covers but they're not rattling or making noise so I'm not bothered by them). The plastic saddle bags are far from waterproof but I just keep everything in Zip-Lock Freezer bags to be safe.
Hopefully Yamaha will take notice and upgrade the Virago250 (or V-Star250) to LED lighting and EFI! Yamaha hasn't change anything on their Virago/V-Star in 30 years (accept the handlebars are straight now on the V-Star, where as the older Virago"s look like the Lican bars. I just bought a 2016 Hyosung GV250 (No Warranty with Zero Miles) from a dealer with 8 in stock (now 7), for $2395! Called an Aquila. 250cc V-Twin, EFI, tach and speedo gauges (separate gauges) but Filament bulb lighting, not LED lighting. Produces 28 HP vs. 19 HP (like the Virago and Lican.) It's 388 lbs so a little heavier but around the same top speed! The Aquila looks a little more "Retro" than Virago's or Lican's! The 2015-2016 Aquila's have ugly exhaust pipes, whereas the older models had straight pipes and looked better. Anyways, Love your bike!

Mr Vaughn... twice now... yes thanks for appreciating the vids, as I appreciated ur well informed comments n just now u made me do some research which I actually never do except when I own a different bike.
I thought Aquila was one of the top-5 brand but seeing they too have another 2V49FM V-Twin and price around the same as the Lycan now I want one.
These bikes from Chinese manufacturer came with tight valves clearance. U actually need to break the bike in n redo the clearance. Mine I did it at 7k miles n I noticed signs of it at around 4K miles. Just was too scared to touch it n it took me awhile to figured out the design pattern to unmount everything to get to those tappets. Once u pass that the bike will randomly get in between 80 MPH on long trip high elevations in about 15-30 minutes trip. Gotta keep that throttle all the way lol, u will c somedays. N if u add a straight pipe exhaust u will get 86MPH top speed instead of the limited 82MPH. So mine cruises around 78MPH easily with the upgrades I’ve done to it. N I got a stock load of parts that’s ready if in case anything goes bad. From Ignition Coils, to ECU, To Ignition Switch, to Rectifier, I’m ready for WAR with those China manufacturer. Just sadly this bike is proving to b equal toe to toe with n actual Japanese bike n not the cheap-fix-it-all-the-time Chinese slogan that has been going on for years.
Thanks for enjoying my vids, n there r more to come.

My knock off lowers were said to be leakers when I was researching. I made my own weather strips to seal off the obvious areas and used heavy duty tape for all the seams. I would do that to your bags and line them with felt.

My 250cc lycan is geared too low. I can't ride it on 6o+ plus speed limits. 60mph@6000 rpms. Also I needed to get a new speedometer. Remember, they will pay for part but you pay labor costs.

I’m confused lol… who exactly are you talking to about paying in general?
Do you want me involved to get you the parts? Do you think I should give you the parts because you think you bought the bike from me?

Heyo David the work looks amazing! Waiting for the vid with the speakers installation.
After a long trip do the bike drink some oíl? I mean you have to refill it after certain amount of miles?
I got 1 cyl bike and it evaporates some oíl and it is a pain to constantly check it.
    Cheers from Chile!

No. Never. Although because I always have two bikes, my mileage each season are always around 1000 or so. Then let’s say if it’s next season I change the oil the minute the temp exceed the limit of the normal viscosity rating.

@@Mr.FLOYDs cool i'm trying to figure it out how reliable could be this lycan and i see no disappoint from you coming from the bike. I'm seriously thinking to get this ride since in my country is kinda affordable. Thanks Dave nice content and ride safe!

Remember to change the oil each seasons n don’t b a hard-head making a 10w50 last 4 seasons under 3728 miles or a 20w40 of the same. When the bike needs oil n the previous one starts to disintegrate base on it boiling all the time u will c signs with ur shiftings.
Then when u first have this specific Lycan u will need to check the engine’s bolt because they will fall off. On my exhaust side, I had the left side of the cylinder head bolt missing between 900 miles. It was easy to replaced by removing one on the opposite side n match it from Home Depot. Then one of my exhaust bolt on the same side fell off, replaced that too with a matching one. Then one of my throttle body retainer bolt that’s attached to the engine fell off, but it stayed on the engine n the noise made me noticed it. I removed all 4 bolts n lock tide them n they never came off. Then on the left shifting side my foot peg gear shifter mat had one of its bolt fell off, I replaced it with one of the frame mounting bolt it came with. So after u unbox the bike from the metal frame keep all the bolts there because they r in mm n can b used to replace things like this.
After 4000 miles n when I removed my exhaust I discovered that it was missing a bolt on the mounting bracket, the exhaust was vibrating crazy to a point where I noticed the vibration but because it didn’t brother me I thought it was a new normal. That led the heat-shield to be destroyed sooner than later, but eventually I fixed it during the exhaust wrapping period.
Otherwise great bike, coming from me, yes buy it if u can afford it. My trips are within 45+ mileage daily with this bike n all the others that came before it n died before 4000 miles while this one is at 6,700 miles with no engine problems. And it’s always doing interstate speed even during the break-in period. I don’t have times to go slow while riding motorcycles n I expect any new engine to keep up 80% of throttle speed with no lags. 80% for this guy is around 62 miles per hour on 4th gear imagined that!

@@Mr.FLOYDs yep i've noticed you wrapped that exhaust and could'nt believe how cheap the weldings of the exhaust were, i mean the defence plate. Now i see it was a damn bolt. I'm afraid of losing them randomly.
My first bike was a very cheap chinese bike. Once i was riding with my girl very far from Home, so i noticed a rattle then I realised one bolt of the exhaust went off. The one that connect the exhaust to the engine. I've heard a loud noise and i noticed part of the burning air coming out partially. As i was a total noob my happy ride ended few miles ahead once the burning air melted wires of the fanheather, then two naked wires touch each other and bam! I was in the Middle of nowhere with my kaputt bike. You can't imagine how happy my girl was. We both were mad af.
There's no doubt i'll double check every bolt if i get the Lycan. The bike is fully assembled tho since Lifan Chile do sell it fully assembled.
I like this Lifan, i own a xr150l honda and also i have suzuki intruder 150. But the vtwin of that bike sound great.
      Cheers!

I came from the same bg as u do lol. Google TH-cam GY6Pro, u will c my other channel with certain tease videos. Then u will c me riding a scooter lol.
Lifan doesn’t mean for u to replace the engine’s bolt, but because it is a Chinese bike, u should just to reassured urself for ur own safety. It’s part of the Motorcycle learning course if u take that class of what u should do when u own a motorcycle. In fact any bike of that matter would have had the same problem.
The fact that this Lycan Heat-shield lasts 4000 miles tells me the factory really tried their best. Much like the GTO 250 which already has its shield off during 1000 miles n I’ve seen signs of the welding coming off of the stock exhaust which forces me to replace it.
That’s the difference between Lifan bikes and another China bike that’s not Lifan.
Good luck to u n to ur girl, n best of luck with ur investment when u do go for it!
