We just purchased one (pick up end of week). I’m hoping that glass isn’t that bad! We had a rock hit our ascent on a long trip a month ago and it just chipped it. With regards to the trunk, I read you could hold the trunk open button to close it. Also with locking it, can you not just touch the door handle on the ident to lock it once all the doors are closed and you have your fob on you? Thanks for the tip on the auto start/stop. I wonder if there is any positive other than fuel economy to use that, and how much fuel it even really saves. I didn’t care for the infotainment but when I looked at the new Subaru ascent they had done the same with all the touch except I think it did have dedicated buttons for hvac temp up and down. Everything else was on the display. I figured if I had to deal with it on the Subaru I was willing to switch brands to get the extra cargo room. Unfortunately seems all manufactures are going to the touch screens. I hope in the future we see buttons again, at least for basic hvac and volume controls.
I agree with you-it’s unfortunate that so many manufacturers are moving toward touchscreens and abandoning physical buttons. It just doesn’t feel as intuitive. The tailgate idea is interesting; I’ll give it a try. As for the window, I might have a defective one as well. A friend with the same model has the same issue, and it really does feel like a cheap window. I’ve also heard that if you find someone with an MDS tool, they can permanently disable the auto start-stop (ASS) feature. Personally, I’m not a fan of the engine shutting off at every red light, especially on a hot turbocharged engine, but that’s just my opinion. My local dealer wont do it i did ask hahaha Regarding the door locking, I usually have my hands full. I love how some vehicles automatically lock when you walk a short distance away-it’s a feature I really wish this one had. Thanks for the feedback!
Yeah the windshield is horrible, I have to replace it when it was only 7000 miles due to hit by a rock. And the replacement took 1.5 months to arrive. But other than that it's a good vehicle.
You can close the tailgate inside by pulling up on the switch and holding it. It will stop if you let go. The locking when leaving is not user friendly and agree with you being crazy
yes this works. However I have other vehicles where you can just walk away from the vehicle entirely without touching the handle and they lock automatically. Very handy when your hands are full. This however cannot do this unfortunately

You better get used to deal with fully digital infotainment screen, I cant even imagine what you would do within a tesla 😂
What about 2.0 turbo driving impressions?
I could do a video on it. Its a powerhouse for a 2.0 L. Lots of getup and go, especially in sport mode
@ExploreSide okay sounds good, I'm waiting)

Mid size ?
yes technically the Volkswagen Atlas is a midsize SUV, but it's on the larger side of the midsize spectrum.
To lock it Al you should have to do is touch the outside of the door handle
yes this works. However I have other vehicles where you can just walk away from the vehicle entirely without touching the handle and they lock automatically. Very handy when your hands are full. This however cannot do this unfortunately
It’s terrible they replaced the 3.6 v6 with a 2.0 four cylinder.
Yeah it really is
