It is the right time and place. It fits perfectly with what's going on in EXO right now with them saying goodbye to Xiumin. And it's going to be year before all the members come back together because all of them are enlisting at different times. Maybe when they are all done with the militry, not all will choose to come back. They might choose to go solo or make movies instead. All I know is I've been dreding Xiumin leaving. He is my favorit and I'll miss his beautiful voice.

Most probably as Chen came out with solo, other members, if they want might come out with solo albums as well, and/or focus on other individual activities, like acting for DO/Kai/Sehun, acting/musicals for Suho. Like others said, maybe a new subunit. Or if things improve, objections eased and situation sorted between the two countries there might be a possibility of Lay participating with the members. Well, the song touched me bc it was released the day next Xiumin announced his entry to the Korean army in May (he will stay in that for 18 months, so he will not be in EXO for that amount of time) . Then a few months after, D.O. will go, which means a year where all the main vocals are absent. Then when they come back the maknaes will go.
