- This time on Why You Should Fly we take a trip north of the border to Canada, to play with the Got Gravel Savage Carbon at the Got Gravel STOL Academy. This combo is a really great, freeware introduction to bush flying, with a number of fun airstrips to test your stick and rudder skills at. We explore some of these strips, the airplane (a modified Zlin Savage Cub), have a couple "incidents" and wax poetic about the different kind of challenge bush flying offers.

love these cubs (love the husky more though, way longer wheelbase and generally lower = more brakes, less nosestands) but it still freaks me out not having an artificial horizon. I know they have to be flown by looking outside not inside, but they're so in your face about it LOL
This is my Favorit Plane in MSFS.
Couple years late on the comments it seems. Good effort on these. I probably would have come in from the other direction since you'd have more room to straighten out and line up after your turn. 2 years later and the Savage Grravel is still one of my fav planes in the sim. It's so much fun. The turbo boost helps with that.
The Savage Carbon is great for sightseeing. Its simplicity translates to fewer systems that the sim has to monitor, thereby reducing drag on FPS.
Really must do some more VR Cub flying.
