I'll be in Tarifa in October. At the end of October, would I find better conditions by going north to Portugal, or south to Morocco?
Thats awesome. Portugal is amazing but not the windiest location you could visit.The waves are great, if there is no wind. When it's windy, the lagoons are nothing short of amazing. The entire coast absolutely merits a Visit. Hands down my favorite location to date.The wind stats from Tangier Morocco on average, look just a little better. I can't speak beyond that until we visit first hand. If I were in your shoes, I would base it off the forecast for the days you plan on traveling out of Tarifa. Let us know how Morocco is if you Visit! -Rygo

Crystal Veness you absolutely have to try the far north as well :) most well known spots are Moledo, Esposende and of course Viana do Castelo, where the thermal wind is actually blowing almost every day in the summer (up to 35 knots yesterday)

Crystal Veness my favorite place to ride is probably viana do castelo (cabedelo), however i live in lisbon and i dont have a car so the place that i go more often is fonte da telha. The wind is not as good as in viana, however it stills very good to ride.
So true! The North is actually going to get it's own special episode focused on Viana do Castelo. This is a city that I absolutely love and the kite spot is just incredible!!! I was there for a short time last week. What a spot!
