    That's the coolest guitar ever in my opinion. I'm a strat guy. I would choose a strat over every other guitar. Thinline is just the coolest thing you can do to the strat design.

    Fender Thinlines are ridiculously classy. I hope I come across an EJ thinline strat someday. It’ll look great next to my Tele Thinlines.

    If I didn’t already have a thinline Strat spec’d out with you guys that we are waiting on, I would totally buy this. I can’t believe this is still around. This is such a cool guitar. Someone needs to jump on this ASAP

    +1 on a Thinline Strat. I tried an EJ Thinline Stratocaster as well at the guitar store and it was friggin' awesome. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE lightweight guitars and would at least hypothetically prefer my guitars to be as light as reasonably possible. The Thinline gets you in the ballpark as well as basically any chambered body. A Thinline/chambered also gets you that certain tone that I really can't put into a description, but I indeed heard it on this demo.

    Nice one . Definitely food for thought . Like the choice of no contour on the body . Awesome looking + sounding .

    I've got a Suhr Alt T, a thinline Tele with humbuckers and 5 way switch to split pickups. It covers so many tones, and playability is unreal!

      Agreed. The only thing it could improve on is the paint. Nitro finishes would be so much nicer!

    The back on this guitar is what really sells it for me…I love that natural look against the red guitar. The F-hole is so classy looking on this, as well as most guitars with them. It just adds a little bit of class that your regular strat with its curves and everything that they don’t have usually. Adding binding on top of the f-hole is just icing on the cake! Only thing I’d have done differently maybe would be to have that as a hard tail bridge. Besides that, this is something I’d have thought of myself!
    Excellent playing as always Baxter. 👍

    I agree EJ thinline strats are totally awesome.
    (Why they ended making them is a mystery)
    Great airy sustain and not as spikey as some other strats as you said, find mine well suited to spacious atmospheric overtones. Sonically it just really takes off.
    I did find the neck really great though, the 12" great for precise note runs.
    And agree I think they look awesome
    Your red custom shop looks amazing!
    Also think those customs shop, spalted maple/ koa veneer thinline strats look totally incredible

    I also don't know why Fender discontinued the Thinline EJ Strat. I guess they weren't selling, though I honestly could've sworn they were. I saw them on several TH-cam videos, and they were getting scooped up left and right on Reverb, etc. That's Fender for you though, they'll sometimes do stuff that'll have you scratching your head.

    I bought an Eric Johnson thinline, tried it, almost sold it. A year later I took it to a gig. Baxter is right, there is something special about it and although maybe not for everyone, it’s become my main axe.Out of many. Awesome guitar!

    I picked up an Eric Johnson thinline a year or so ago pretty cheap because someone had but a backplate on it and it had a few marks. I hate the radius on them so I sold the neck and put an AVRI 7.25” radius neck on it along with some custom shop pickups. It’s amazing now.

    Before you even mentioned EJ that is exactly what I was thinking! All of EJ's models, IMHO are semi CS at a great value ($)! He has them doing a lot of things other sig strats don't, most are off the shelf w/various options. Sassafras? What other guitar is built from that!?! LOL I think that's the 'Virginia' Strat? Great value, tones, little $$. JMHO's --gary

    • @jamesburge1983
      @jamesburge1983 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Take a look at G&L. The ASAT Classic ‘S’ Alnico, it will need to be a 'build to order' model speced as a semi hollow, which is not a custom shop model just a normal G&L. (They have 3 levels, Fullerton deluxe, the SKU versions, the BTO's which is the 'standard' models and the custom shops) At least his is how they used to do it, they may have changed I dunno. By the way, the 'L' is or was Leo.

    • @BerensteinGBear
      @BerensteinGBear 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I hate these comments. They made sense 15 years ago.
      There was a time when Asian companies were miles ahead of Fender. Fender was behind the curve for a lot of virtuoso shredders and types, but they stuck to their brand.
      Now they're actually selling more guitars as ever; reason? Because they got their core guitars right the first time, they made subtle refinements and modern engineering, and actually stand out in the current market.
      There's so many contoured, exotic, spec'd out guitars with crazy woods, electronics, etc, that it's all you see; even cheap Amazon guitars are making waves. Yet Fender remains solid. Why?
      As people explore and upgrade and fidget with new gear, they're longing for the quality, back-to-basics Fender offers. And frankly Suhr be inspiration over a Fender for SOME, but the double if not triple price point for a slight variation of a Strat doesn't personally ring "good purchase" IMO.
      TL;DR: Fender knows their brand and value, and has let the world change around them knowing the majority of players will come back to basics like Fender because of their classic design, tone, quality and performance.
