      Every German Shepherd I've owned Big or small all tilt their head if you say the magic words. GO FOR A RIDE? watch the reaction, Go outside, watch the reaction, wanna play ball 3 times watch the reaction. The smaller ones are actually meaner. Had 2 female's 1 king Shepherd 120 lbs and a 70 lb K-9 German Shepherd who do you think got the worse? Me because I had to pay to get them sewed up. The little one was the baddest. I was told you can't keep 2 Alpha female's. Teach them the word Muzzle, soon as 1 gets cocky, do you want your muzzle on? After wearing it for 2 days they learn. The last 6 years of life no more fights. Soon as they started I could call the small one off the big one I had to grab. Yes I did get bit several times but both were my babies I didn't want hurt 🤕+$$$$ vet bill.

      @@alrenshaw4786 I am a dog lover. I have had a German Shepherd Dog and probably won't get any other breed in the future. Being a dog trainer professionally, I believe in prevention and temperament testing. If I already have one dog, that's enough for me. We're I to get a second dog, it would be upon my first dog's approval only. If my first dog didn't like the dog I was considering, my dog has the final say. That's the way it should be. I love my dog and respect his wishes in these matters.

And my boy sometimes think he's still a puppy, (5 y old dog weighs 60kg, pure muscles) and wants to be on my lap. And talks a lot. Not just bark, lots of different noises - like he understands a world around him.

Lot people said Beagle is so naughty, loud and won't listen to you except you have treats - but mine understand not only my words, but also my emotions. When i'm serious she obeys me immediately in silence and when i talk playfully she replies me with a funny whine. She understands so many commands on her puppy age. Its so funny when i walked her, then its started raining in a sudden i only said "hey its rain, lets run to home!" Then she will begin to run and entering my terrace in a split second (with me following her because she's faster than me 😅), she let me know when she wants to pee and i forget to put her potty pad, she also will bring her bowl if its empty and she's thirsty. Sometimes i thought she's a human in a shape of dog 🥲

      @Gerrit Peacock So true, you can see the “Dad” spends tons of time engaging Buddy, training him, keeping him physically and mentally active and motivated. All that positive-feedback/reward training is what makes a dog so responsive to voice and inflection, especially highly work-motivated dogs like shepherds, pointers and retrievers. Buddy may not actually “read his mind” or understand conversation, but he knows his dad is the source of treats, play, games and affection, so he is tuned in to his dad’s voice, eager for all that positive attention and mental stimulation. Wonderful to see someone make use of all of a breed’s particular skills… (Before anyone calls me out on speaking about breeds, I am a “don’t breed or buy” person who has long adopted special needs, mixed-breed dogs. I just appreciate it when people do right by their particular pet’s energy levels and temperament.)

    Aw, bless him. My dog Disney was the same way. For ten years we were like an extension of each other. We were only apart maybe an hour or two a week at most and were otherwise always an arm's length away. His unexpected death last September from a 'growth on his kidney' took the wind right out of my life's sails. Losing a dog like this is like losing a best friend, a brother and a son all in one. It is the burden we must endure by becoming pet parents, but the pure love we get to see in the meantime makes it worth the hurt. Much love to Buddy and every other dog, cat and other animal out there making the world a better place simply by being in it.

    What a beautiful video. I'm sitting here crying my eyes out because I just read that this wonderful boy passed away. What hurts the most is my beautiful boy is just like Buddy. My Copper dog has been my soul mate for the last 9 years. We've never been apart. He was my service dog for 7 years. I retired him during the beginning of covid because his back seemed to be hurting him. The day before his surgery he tumbled out of my truck and the next day his arm was so swollen that the surgeon (thankfully) decided to wait until the swelling went down. Much to all of our surprise the swelling didn't go down, and the skin started to sluff off 2 days later. He was rushed into emergency surgery where they removed the dead tissue. We found out a day after his surgery that he has Flesh Eating disease! He's been such a trooper through it all. His surgery was on July 21, and it's now Oct 15th. He goes in every 2 days for bandage changes. Everyone at the vet office adores Copper! He absolutely loves going in and seeing all his friends at the office. A few days ago his back completely gave in. He can no longer walk on his hind end. Now I'm struggling with an impossible decision. He hasn't even fully recovered from the first surgery! I don't think it would be fair to put him through a painful back surgery, but he can't continue to live like this... I fear my only choice will be saying goodbye to my bestfriend and allowing him to rest in peace. We go to the vet tomorrow to make sure there is no other options, but my heart is so very heavy right now. I'm pretty sure the vet is going to tell me it is his time :(

    • @cban8637
      @cban8637 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@littlebitofhope1489 it s both, the dogs were originated from wolves breeding with men in the paleolitic, the big dogs that looks pretty much like wolves (huskies, german sheperd, australian sheperd etc) need activities, they pretty much all get bored pretty fast, so when their human companion are talking to them they want to know what are the next activities planned, and with some key words and their pretty good memory, they know what is about to happen. the key word "Ice cream" was making him happy. so when his owner is speaking he is orienting towards the sound because unlike our ears which are not moving, they need to move ears and head to capt the sound properly and being able to perceive keys words as: park, ice cream, bring me the ball, etc. they can remember a lot. This dog for example seemed trained, but he also could be even more intelligent than most dogs of the same breed, he could carry a particular gene sequence that is making him even better at memorizing sound and understanding. Dogs can recognize a lot of our facial expressions, intonation and the feeling associated: so when the man says the key word "mom" with a sad intonation, even though the dog can't understand that she is sick and what is the illness, he knows something is wrong and that it s making the man sad.

      Had a shephard/malmute and ? mix who grew to outweigh me by 30 lbs. He was impressive but a gentle love. He was super intuitive. Saved one of my daughters from a predator without mauling the jerk. No breaking of skin...the family tried to press charges and blackmail us...it was so obvious. No law enforcement, animal control or veterinarians would say one bad word about the dog. If he had been vicious...all agreed the pervert would have had at least a broke n arm. He also saved a life of a very out of control person by laying across the distraught person until the crisis passed. Some things are unforgettable. Dogs are blessings.

    10 days in the pound, nobody wanted him. He was 68 lbs.Too small.

    He grew about 4 inches taller and gained 40 lbs. He is gorgeous and strangers tell me that every day. He's now 5 and 1/2
    Years old.
    When he was about 18 mos.old (based on how he grew) l bought a house with 10 acres fenced. Really just for him.

He got me through middle school. Never forget asking my parents for a brother. One day I come home from school there was a 8 week old GS in my room. He was still by my side when we got our first apartment after I graduated. I'm so happy he got a chance to play with my daughter before he passed. He lived a long life. My dad almost shot someone before for kicking my brother never forget that day. We loved him. He was truly apart of my life got me through high school break ups and everything. He's licked plenty tears from my face before his passing. The best little big brother ever.

She lives in the house with me at night and Flies free outside around the forest all day. She loves and trusts that I have nothing but good intentions for her and therefore the communication between her and I is astounding. All animals need is your pure sense of desire to communicate with them, purely love them and feel the trust from you and you will get the same back. I feel extremely happy to have this kind of communication with not only my dog, but my "wild" bird as well😊😁👍

    What a gorgeous boy. And Mike is a wonderful doggy dad.
    I've had three German Shepherds. They're amazing. My Duke lived for 13 years and spent almost every day with me. I would take him to work and to my neighbors when I would visit. Everyone knew Duke. He was an ambassador for large dogs. Children would be drawn to him and say he was a wolf. He was so gentle and they loved him. A few times, neighbor's girls would knock on my door and ask if Duke could come out and play. They would put azalea leaves on his head.
    We had an almost telepathic connection. He would look at my eyes to see if I was looking towards the car to go for a ride.
