  • Vallejo (/vəˈleɪ(h)oʊ/ və-LAY-(h)oh; Spanish: [baˈʎexo]) is a waterfront city in Solano County, California, located in the North Bay subregion of the San Francisco Bay Area. Vallejo is geographically the closest North Bay city to the inner East Bay, so it is sometimes associated with that region. Its population was 115,942 at the 2010 census. It is the tenth most populous city in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the largest in Solano County.
The city is named after Don Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo, the famed Californio general and statesman. He was a leading proponent of California's statehood and one of the first members of the California State Senate. The neighboring city of Benicia is named for his wife, Francisca Benicia Carrillo de Vallejo. Vallejo has twice served as the capital of the state of California: once in 1852 and again in 1853.
Vallejo sits on the northeastern shore of San Pablo Bay, 30 mi (48 km) north of San Francisco, the northwestern shore of the Carquinez Strait and the southern end of the Napa River, 15 mi (24 km) south of Napa. Vallejo is home to the California Maritime Academy, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom theme park, the former Mare Island Naval Shipyard, and the regional office for Region 5 of the United States Forest Service.

Nice city with a rich history. I like how the old downtown area is laid out. Plenty to do, good parks, Mare Island is a real treasure too. Th climate is terriffic.

I'm back in Ohio but I stayed down there in Vallejo few years and then I walked to make my way to Sacramento I would like to see some familiar faces down at the waterfront at the cafe and at the city hall.

Not bad orbited the downtown area a bit too much then again difficult to cover it all too. Not a bad video for sure. Gives one a taste of V-Town anyhow.

Whoever did this never drove to the downtown on Georgia Street -- the main part of the commercial district in Vallejo where some of the historic buildings still remain. It appeared to be done by someone who knows nothing about Vallejo.

Nice video. A lot of nice areas though too were overlooked including Hiddenbrooke, Glen Cove, Waterfront, Mare Island, Architectural & Heritage District, & a few o9f the city's parks. I read a few of the negative comments here regarding what was overlooked like the homeless. No city is perfect not has that problem. I'm not going to be a Debbie Downer. Vallejo's not perfect then too not the worse place to be either. Recently I moved more so for economic reasons. Then too difficult to do a decent video of a City you aren't familiar with too

At 3:25, you can see the Gumball school playground, as you can see the church in the background, along with the intersection. 6:31 is a much better view

Lovely, lovely city by the Bay. Unfortunately, this video keeps driving away from the waterfront, where the view is awesome. I can see Mare Island and Mount Tamalpais and forever from the top of St. Vincent Hill, but this video does not show that.
Lovely, lovely city by the Bay. But the property tax will kill you.

Should really have a narration going...otherwise it's boring just driving around in Vallejo. Nothing too interesting about this town. Maybe the waterfront and Mare Island...otherwise I wouldn't move here or hang out...especially after dark...! Sorry.

How about all the homeless encampments where did you hide those cuz they're everywhere!!!! you literally have homeless people building foundations and putting up wooden shelters next to residential homes our children cannot go outside and play anymore the streets are covered in filth and garbage because they have nowhere to put it the median in the street they have ripped up and planted shit in it tents in the middle of streets blocking traffic moving into neighborhoods as if they own the land like they got a deed from the city to be there it is ridiculous as well as dangerous this city is absolutely filthy disgusting and filled with crime our numbers are small but growing we will bring a suit against Vallejo
