If the people in the West actually had a democracy, they would have the choice to massively regulate businesses with their vote as well as decide economic policies based on the whims of the majoritarian vote. Since Billionaires and the owners of most capital are few in number, they would have to create a system to circumvent actual democracy to enable capitalism and to protect their profits to dissuade the "representatives" from actually representing the will of their constituencies.

The billionaires who own the majority of those goods can continue enriching themselves off of hiking the price of goods and keeping minimum wages as low as they can for lesser operational expenses for greater net profit margins. If the people in the West actually had a democracy, they would have the choice to massively regulate businesses with their vote as well as decide economic policies based on the whims of the majoritarian vote. Since Billionaires and the owners of most capital are few in number, they would have to create a system to circumvent actual democracy to enable capitalism and to protect their profits to dissuade the "representatives" from actually representing the will of their constituencies.

Can't when gov Controls the cost to operate (property taxes/insurance) and the flux costs to buy/sell (interest rates and loans) through market manipulation (property valuation) and regulation (taxes/insurance/legal). Our big property taxing local govs and insurance are the main renter problems related to rental housing expense, not your average landlord (in most cases) - well unless your landlord is a Corp REIT... just sayin. I find it interesting that whenever taxing and insurance gets into the mix of anything - EXPENSES TO CONSUMERS SKYROCKET. Health, home, auto, nursing home, vet, business ... you name it.
