The first time I landed in HCMC it was 10 pm and 92 degrees the airport was hot & humid . It smelled like hot feet and noodles. The main drag downton Saigon lined with the hostess ho-ho it is humid smells of hot bush and noodles

​@user-mz8bx8um3q very. The problem on Bui Vien Street is pickpockets but not really violent crime. If you wear a crossbody bag on your front as is recommended you'll be fine.

America built Saigon what it is today (AKA Ho Chi Minh City). The Chinese and Vietnamese made Hanoi. Saigon is the main city, financial hub and entertainment center of Vietnam, with lots of free lancers, not Hanoi. RIP my American, Australians, British, So. Koreans and Thai veteran soldiers of this era who died and gave everything they had to make what it is today.
