Thanks as always interesting and the extra bonus of entertainment . Great to get more information about what's on the shelves - more please. And also to know a bit more about how and who names storms. Thanks
Brilliant as always. Many thanks
I feel that I'm at uni getting a free degree! Love watching context, measurement, accuracy ... the cogs of the world sparkling! 💙
That was great fun, well done guys! Honor really breathes life and fun into anything she is presenting. ♥
You two getting the giggles gave me the giggles 😂
I really need to figure out how to have this much fun at work!
Brilliant video thanks 😊 👍 😅❤
It's refreshing that you don't use groundhogs and Sharpies for forecasting like we do here in the States ar ar. Thank you both and Happy Candlemas wkd.🎉
14:00. I think that question is about next weekend, February 8th onward, not this weekend. The models are swinging towards cold easterlies now from then.
Awesome 💯🤙
Alex.. you'd better buy Honor a copy of the film Groundhog Day.. it's a classic and all about weather presenting.! Also know as Candlemas Day, one of the most important days in the ecclesiastical calendar.
You need to read The Lord Of The Rings, Éowyn is a great character in it, though she appears later. You really should name the next storm Faramir, her love. I love the met Office lives and Deep Dives, fun and fascinating.
A great Friday lunchtime thanks . Alex D & Aidan perfect pairing. Honor and Alex B more fun , a perfect pairing too. Shame about Winter weather, glad I can escape for next week or so to Gran Canaria 😮
Great video guys ⛅⛈🌤🌥🌦🌧🌨🌩🌪🌫🌬🌀🌈🌂☂☔❄☃💧🌊
Going by the models, a scandi high is looking the most possible outcome, but also what about the ssw around mid feb, with possible split. Great show team.
how is it, that sometimes it can be raining while it is not detected by radar ?
I hate the gloom. Don't want to be very cold but you can put your thermals on. With the gloom it's there is nothing to be done
Naming storms isn't ALL about raising awareness, surely? It's also about ensuring that everyone is talking about the same event. Without names we'd have to say "the storm in January from the 24th to the 25th..." which is both a mouthful but also less precise. If there are several storms in a short period of time it's simply easier to give each a name.
i guess its that also and maybe a couple of other things if you go as far a psychology etc. or perhaps the 'awareness' encompasses your point already, assuming the lower building block thoughts were a given?
What are the factors you look at to determine whether a high pressure system at this time of year will bring us gloom or sunshine?
Honor,, getting very worried about your UK Geography 🤣🤣🤣
I wonder when naming storms that they could be prefixed with the severity of the storm, such as penetrating, velocity, accelerating, colder, warming?
I always missed this due to work but I wanted to know what will happen if the jet stream would disappear or moved else where.
And what would happen to UK weather if jet stream moved the opposite direction.
Thanks
We would be dry
