Regardless of the title, this is an outstanding display of both the rites and the underlying meanings of Ekpe rituals. It is exceedingly beautiful and magnificent. It encapsulates the dignity, prestige, and excellence that "Ekpe" represents in Efik culture. The elaborate dance steps, the melodic songs, and ritualistic performance of the "priest", all point back to a time when "Ekpe" was the chief organ of government, as well as a spiritual guide for the Efik society. I am so glad that organizations like Nka Nkori nyampkpe dibo has memorialized this event for posterity. We need to encourage more organizations to do the same, so our heritage is preserved for our kids and grand-kids. Thank you very much for this beautiful display.
The title is misleading...."Nka Nkori Nkanda dibo"....Nka Nkori has nothing to do with "Nkanda" which is a Ekpe Title in the Ekpe fraternity......correct your title
What a display of Ekpe Nyoro,Ekpe fraternity is a unique and classical cultural beliefs the efik pple see's as a spiritual guilds by they ancestors.
