It took me 6 tries before I finally got it right. Here's what I recommend you try-clear base use a medium viscosity resin and let it sit in the mold for 15 to 20 mins to thicken up. Use a pigment instead of just alcohol ink. So castin craft for your white, and pigment if your choosing for colours. Heat gun in low and it's more to pop bubbles. If your pigments are the right consistency they will do all the work on their own. Hope that helps!!!! Good luck PS try using a piping bag so you can cut a nice small fine tip
I was about to say the pigment instead not alcohol ink too!!! That's what is making the petals not pull in and give the 3d effect! That's why the white one that has the color in it is doing a better job of it bc it's not just alcohol ink like the others.
Adore her! She's so much fun! I don't care if she fails or succeeds- it's fun to watch! We all fail in real life (I failed yesterday). Keep the videos coming!
I was going to suggest watching Juliette also, she torches the bubbles first before she adds the flower drawing. Your way makes the flower design more whimsical both are beautiful. The flower mold is expensive
Linked those videos in my comment. I think she did something more unique and I do like "Pouring Your Heart Out" hers, however, I liked these for other reasons.
I like that you showed something that was harder to get - then we don't feel so bad when we can't get it just like yours :) I will say, the ones I've seen do this successfully 1) used the heat gun only on the clear resin so it didn't blow the white ink around 2) used only white alcohol ink and 3) put the white resin in a zip lock bag and then cut a hole to use it like a piping bag It offered them much more control. I saw one where a woman piped out flower designs in round coasters in white, then did a colored background after 24 hours later. All that said, I think yours still turned out super cute :) Hopefully I don't sound like that jerk commenter because I definitely don't mean it that way, lol. I missed having a video to watch from you last week!
so that first teal with the darker teal at the 18:50 is gorgeous and honestly reminds me more of the flowers i've seen than some of the others. i know the center got away... but the colors and the and the veining in that one are just beautiful
The rainbow one is my least favorite! It's a hippie flower. And I really like the blue and yellow ones, but I don't know what the original was that you were trying to emulate, so maybe that's why. But I totally see how the pink one has a more realistic depth to it, which is I guess what you were going for. Honestly, they're all cool, I think it just comes down to taste and preference, so I'm glad we got to see how you did each one! Thx as always!!
From what I’ve seen at other resin artists they use the heat gun different. They blow delicate towards the inside so the resin can move by it self outwardly. I think it’s just patience!💗
All these pieces are adorable, there is never a fail, only Happy Accidents. You need to drill a hole in each one of these, tie with fishing line to your wall behind your work space. The lights will shine through them and make them look so cool.
i love how you just keep at it until you figure it out. when i fail i have this huge dramatic art block set back lol i feel like i cant do anything right and wont try for a week or more. most often i never attempt it again. but i love this because you keep trying. also, the bloopers at the end!! please tell me thats gonna be in all of your videos LOL.
I’m very happy you posted this video. I was watching someone else make these flowers and she made it look so easy! That’s usually what brings me to my failure zone because when I try- it doesn’t even resemble its busted cousin. Glad to know everyone has moments like that- even those with experience. It’s helpful.
The pink flower is the prettiest one .. you are the most optimistic artist I have ever seen and that is excellent to be a self-challenged artist. Love your work and your joyful spirit. 😘😍 شكرا .. فيديو رائع ومفيد ويعطى أمل وتحدى للوصول إلى الهدف
You are absolutely amazing! Your vibrancy just inspires me to get up and craft. You bring so much joy to those who watch your videos, thank you My favorite was the pink, because it seemed to have more depth. But your teal/turquoise ‘fails’ were gorgeous! 😍
I love these designs. I use cake decorating bags to add more control for me with the lines. When I use my heat gun I blow toward the middle instead of outwards. Seems to make more of a flower look. I need those molds! So cool. Thank you
I agreed with another comment regarding checking out the channel "Pouring Your Heart Out" but I also just wanted to say that I think you've done a great job, even your "fails" and thank you for sharing with us. I often get frustrated because I watch some videos and it seems to easy but when I do it, it is just disaster after disaster! Your videos help remind me the results I'm looking for may not always happen on the first try!
I love your authenticity!!! Those molds will also be great for snowflakes in the winter!! I would love to see you try to make white, silver, and ice blue snowflake designs
Your scrunchie!! You’re too cute! Your coasters turned out amazing!!!!!!! I’ve tried and failed many many times! I love your videos. Thanks for sharing with us!
I love you, your channel and your humor!! I've been doing these flowers for couple of weeks now, and noticed that you didn't put down a thin layer of clear resin before you draw the petals. The clear resin helps the colored resin "slide" to make the whispy petals. That's what works for me, when it works. Hahaha These are beautiful, stop being so critical, just because they aren't your cup of tea, doesn't mean it isn't some one else's. ** Big hug**
I've been learning to make these, too, and it is a process. I made two the other day using the same everything (to make a matching pair) and just the fact that the resin sat longer for the second one gave me COMPLETELY different results. Oh well. Learn and keep on going. You'll get it!
Keep trying cause I finally got it to work. Im so excited. piping bags work so much easier. Put ur petals all the way to the edge of the molds and them use ur heat gun to blow from the outside in. Then the petals will start to bloom. Also chunky glitter seems to work better than the fine glitter.
Thank you so much for your genuine tutorials they have helped me so much and I have learnt not to be so hard on myself if I have a fail, keep doing what you are doing because you and your Husband are awesome lots of love from Australia xx
You make such fun videos! I really loved the yellow one of the final set you did - the center was perfect, and I thought the yellow and white petals were fantastic! I haven’t tried this style of coaster yet - it really intimidates me.
Heyyyy, it’s not a fail if you learn something, AND you thought us something. I love your flowers 🌸. Don’t ya love that mold? I just ordered another one!
Keep posting...it doesn't matter to us what you are doing - although we LOVE what you are doing - we just love to watch. Personally, you are one of my favorite people to watch. I love your smile, your spirit of fun, and how funny you are. :)
I love that you’re working with this technique! It’s amazing!! May I suggest you blow, with your heat blower, from the outside in, instead of the inside out. It makes a difference. Who know, maybe you won’t like it as much, but I really love the effect!! I so love when you post a new vid! I’ve learned so much from you! Thank you!! You’re awesome and brilliant!
It would have been so cool to try and take them out when they're half cured/moldable and stick them in a bowl to make a 3D flower. (like inside a bowl to crinkle up the petals, not on top of it like you've done before)
Just WOW! Consistently blown away. All of them are stunning. The blue was my fav at first, but then you showed the funky colorful psychedelic one and OMG! 🤯 Legit mind blown! 😍
I personally feel they are all beautiful! I wouldn't leave them as coaster though. I think they would be beautiful hung in a mobile with the rainbow flower in the center. Thank you for sharing with us
I have learned to use casting craft white in a ziplock/piping bag-let sot for 15 minutes then snip a tiny hole and make your petals. I’m still perfecting this but that is how I learned. 😃 Love your videos!!
They are beautiful! I had ago at the resin geode coasters for the first time last week. My mixture ended up wrong so I had too much hardener 🙈 but they eventually set after an extra day 😂 the colours all rolled into 1 though so I need more practice xx
I Found a link you may find helpful for this technique. I do like how you keep trying after non successful attempts. Thank you for your channel. I don’t use other social media sites so I miss some of the good things TH-camrs put on Facebook, Twitter etc. Keep doing what you do. Please.
Heather, you may not have gotten the effect you were going for, but the effect(s) you got are great! That flower shape really accentuates the effect, too! I love 'em all. I think they're super pretty!
They are really lovely. To get the effect you want try using a mica powder in pearl or metallic or something with some weight that sinks more and isn't necessarily a light liquid like the alcohol inks. I still think yours are really cool though
You have to use the Casting Craft White and mix the color twitch that to get the effects you’re looking for. And use the cast craft white by itself for the effects from the white. Good luck. I love the ones you made!! Love your videos. Keep up the great work.
Keep trying I’m sure you’ll get it!! One video I watched was blowing the pedals towards to outside of the mold maybe and different viscosity maybe idk I’m a newbie but wanna help
Hi, you know I've said before that your bubbles and whatever else happens that you consider fails, I consider abstract and beautiful. Keep on trucking! The flower sculpture...yes!!! That Texas Gal !!!
So weird the science behind it but it is all about the consistency of your pigments. I still love what you made tho! But definitely try just a few drops of cast n craft white instead of Pinata I'm telling you it works so awesome
I know you were going for more of a realistic flower look but I absolutely love the yellow & blue flowers, Yellow is my favourite colour but its not just the colour I like the movement & flow of the colours within the resin when it catches the light is just sooo beautiful... I would definitely not call this batch a failure and I would be proud to hang them in the window of "Bub's Midnight Willow"... Im feeling inspired for the day now so thank you... I send to you positive warm creative fuzzies for the rest of your Thursday... Take care and stay safe my lovely... 💫😷🌺🤗🌺😷💫
Love to watch your video, whether you call them failures or not. My attempts to do these flower coasters have ended up just all one colour, no petals at all😢. Your 'failures' are much better! Everyone keeps mentioning colour cast white but where can I get it in UK please?
I love the blue and the yellow ones! Those are my favourite 😉👍 If you want to draw very thin lines, try putting resin in a plastic bag then snip off a tiny corner 👌 it'll give you more control. I guess the resin you used this time is a bit thick, maybe that's the reason why the dye didn't move when you used the heat gun. That mold is really beautiful 👍 Thanks for the video! Keep trying! You'll succeed soon! 😉👍
I love these! But I wanted to ask, have you ever done a video on how you get your bun so perfect? 🤩 I have very long hair but just can’t achieve a good nest bun lol
What are you using as your base color for your flower portion? For instance before I add any color to the resin I am using for petals, I put in 2 or 3 drops of cast n craft white and then a few drops of the alcohol ink color. The white paste allows it sink slightly and the alcohol ink gives it the fluffy airy delicate look.
Also I would suggest when blowing with the hear gun you go from the outside in until you see just a little movement. After that if you are using the right consistency of tints or pigments it should flow pretty well on its own
I love the flowers even if they are not what you were going for. They are still beautiful. I like when people show their trials and errors in their videos. Resin is not quit as easy to work with like a lot make it seem. But is very fun and I find relaxing to do. It's a great hobby and my friends and family always get homemade gifts. I get upset when my pieces don't turn out as planned. But they are still pretty and people still like them. Those flower molds would be great for winter as snowflakes. ❄️. I may have to get some to make snowflakes for my family for Christmas.
LOVE YOUR CHANNEL ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Wish I have more videos to binge watch but did you know if you have resin at the bottom of any cup you can reheat it to turn into water consistency!!
GiRL!?!?!? When are you going to understand... We just want to hang out with you... Resin is an extra 🤣🤣🤣
😭❤️ awww haha thank yoooou!!
True story!!!
Lol when you were making them I thought they looked a lot like spongebob flowers, too!
They're really cool. Good job. I love your videos. 😀

Yep, I think the pipping bag it's going to do the difference.

Notification squad-->>>> who else loves her
Yes! Fail or succeed i get excited when i see she made a new video. She's awesome and a pleasure to watch.
Don't worry hun! We love you!
Her art is just fun!
Adore her! She's so much fun! I don't care if she fails or succeeds- it's fun to watch! We all fail in real life (I failed yesterday). Keep the videos coming!
Yes I think Heather is amazing
The video's i saw that they use pigment paste and piping bags. Love the flower sculpter 😍
I also saw that th-cam.com/video/0j5-sQylQhs/w-d-xo.html
Julie on ‘Pouring Your Heart Out’ has been trying this technique, you should check her out! 🤗
I second this!
Yep I have been watching her and trying to get courage to try it
I was thinking the same thing! Julie is amazing to watch and she's new to resin and watching her vids is always exciting!
I actually love the dark teal "mishaps". They are beautiful!
the softest of ducks
Me too! I wasn’t sure what look she was going for exactly, but LOVED 😍 the teal coasters
I think the “failed” one with the big gold centre and the turqoise and the black streaks looks best
I used casting craft white in for petals, used for lacing as well, works great
so that first teal with the darker teal at the 18:50 is gorgeous and honestly reminds me more of the flowers i've seen than some of the others. i know the center got away... but the colors and the and the veining in that one are just beautiful
I actually really like your first two attempts! I think they look like flowers.

... hippie flower 🤣🤣🤣
1:56. ABSOLUTELY COOL! Red and green ones for Christmas tree ornaments. Orange ones for Halloween, etc. They're cool!
I love the yellow and blue flowers! Amd honestly all the "fails" are pretty awesome too! Thank you for being your genuine self and sharing with us.
I love 💘 how you show that all techniques have both fails and success and you embrace them all
The blue & yellow are my 2 favs! Well done. It's amazing how you learn from your "fails".
I love how the first batch looked and I love how the second batch looks
From what I’ve seen at other resin artists they use the heat gun different. They blow delicate towards the inside so the resin can move by it self outwardly. I think it’s just patience!💗
idk, i really like that yellow one. it has such a pleasing visual feel for me.
The yellow one is my favourite !
I love love love watching you, fail or succeed. Feels so nice to know that our favorite artists also fail and that’s what makes us human
All these pieces are adorable, there is never a fail, only Happy Accidents. You need to drill a hole in each one of these, tie with fishing line to your wall behind your work space. The lights will shine through them and make them look so cool.

Oh well. Learn and keep on going. You'll get it!
They are still funky and cute! Pouring Your Heart Out has the 3D flower thing down, but not every go works! It’s still fun and educational to watch!
Your endless talent blows my mind! Keep shining :)

I liked all of them but the yellow one was one of my favorites because it reminded me of yellow bearded iris that's one of my favorite flowers.
I love all of your video's even the fails. Have u tryed piping bags ? I've seen similar vids and they used them x
This is what I was thinking too!
You make such fun videos! I really loved the yellow one of the final set you did - the center was perfect, and I thought the yellow and white petals were fantastic! I haven’t tried this style of coaster yet - it really intimidates me.

I love this! the pink is my fav. 17:25 hands down!
Love the real and yellow ones the best!
It would have been so cool to try and take them out when they're half cured/moldable and stick them in a bowl to make a 3D flower. (like inside a bowl to crinkle up the petals, not on top of it like you've done before)
I've been dying over here waiting for this video 😂😂 haha so excited!
Thank you for sharing with us
I'd happily buy any of those darker teal ones from you. They look so good. Really they do
They look awesome on the black background! !!!!
Love the outtakes! What a great original idea!
I love how they turned out!! You did great Heather!!🌺🌺🌺
I have learned to use casting craft white in a ziplock/piping bag-let sot for 15 minutes then snip a tiny hole and make your petals. I’m still perfecting this but that is how I learned. 😃 Love your videos!!
I love them!! Even if they don't necessarily look just like a flower, the whispyness of all of them are super cool! 2 thumbs up 👍👍
They are beautiful! I had ago at the resin geode coasters for the first time last week. My mixture ended up wrong so I had too much hardener 🙈 but they eventually set after an extra day 😂 the colours all rolled into 1 though so I need more practice xx
We always love your videos! You are such an inspiration!!

Yessss... just got to the end, these are dope. Love Ranger ink too
The blue one reminds me of a snowflake looks cool definitely the pink ones the best flower. Good job 😍
They are all beautiful. My grandfather used to say, 'Nothing is a mistake if you learn something. '
Heather, you may not have gotten the effect you were going for, but the effect(s) you got are great!
That flower shape really accentuates the effect, too! I love 'em all. I think they're super pretty!
The rainbow one makes me so happy! The colors are so bright and summery and yes they look like Spongebob flowers! I love them!
Maybe starting from the outside of the flower and working in to the centre could have a cool effect?? They're all gorgeous!
Dig your playlist and these crafty vibes!
They are really lovely. To get the effect you want try using a mica powder in pearl or metallic or something with some weight that sinks more and isn't necessarily a light liquid like the alcohol inks. I still think yours are really cool though
Omg! I'm all caught up!! Tbh I am in LOVE with that first one!!
So cute,I would also love to see you make it in around mold so that your flower petals are more of the feature than the shape of the mold.
I really love them. It is art and you did an amazing job. Be happy with your work
You have to use the Casting Craft White and mix the color twitch that to get the effects you’re looking for.
I love this woman! I've been DYING for another video. Yay!
Very pretty. I wonder if it might help to put the molds on a slightly curved plate?
Thanks for being real about trying and failing! Your stuff is awesome and it's nice to see the trial and error, too!
All but the rainbow are my favorite!
Resin ABSOLUTELY does what it wants. You're flowers are still cool. 😎
Even a failure is a success in learning. ❤️❤️ love watching any and all videos even if they don’t work out well
These are all beautiful- I think the yellow is my favorite. You did a great job!🎈🤘👊💪👏🍩
💫😷🌺🤗🌺😷💫
I seen other artists try with piping bag and little more liquidy textured resin for more defined petals.. wanna give that a try?? 😇
I’ve never seen the technique you were going for. But I like you think the pink was is so pretty
Wow!! Love them they're so pretty 😍
Love to watch your video, whether you call them failures or not. My attempts to do these flower coasters have ended up just all one colour, no petals at all😢. Your 'failures' are much better! Everyone keeps mentioning colour cast white but where can I get it in UK please?
Omg they look so good!! 💗how did you get all the bubbles out they are so clear??
I love the first music in this video!!
the blue n yellow are my fav. tfs
Came for your art, stayed for YOU! :) Your pieces are wonderful, but I subscribed because you are also wonderful. Resin is not your only art!
I love these! But I wanted to ask, have you ever done a video on how you get your bun so perfect? 🤩 I have very long hair but just can’t achieve a good nest bun lol
I love your videos I wanted for so long trying to work with resin but dont think that will ever be a possibility
What are you using as your base color for your flower portion? For instance before I add any color to the resin I am using for petals, I put in 2 or 3 drops of cast n craft white and then a few drops of the alcohol ink color.
