    We all hope to find the oil pump Tasos. You are the man! Great lesson on the piston offset. Is offset normally greater on 90 degree vs 60 vs Inline?

    Χρόνια πολλά καλή χρονιά με υγεία φιλε Τάσο. Ευτυχώς που δεν έχετε χειμώνα αλλιώς θα νομίζει οτι εχει diesel αντι για βενζίνη απο το κροταλισμα

    British engineers measure clearance with a tape measure, they check flatness with a wooden ruler. and check for tolerances, by shining a flashlight thru gaps, if you cant see too much thru the gap, its good to go. The engines foundation is so flawed, to try to push it is silly. For the sake of cooling and weight reduction, the block is like a skeleton, Hardly any meat on vital bits. and they ve just put a simple liner, on a already weak block. The forged rods are too strong for the actual block :) Plus the pump what a bad design on the shaft and lock in pin. The worst thing about the British parts, they hardly get revisions, for generations, knowing how and why certain parts fail, you might not like German style, but they revise parts constantly, and that is so costly to a company, to change, designs engineer and test it again, and change molds and dye's for the manufacturer, its alot of work for even one simple part. Thats why the British dont do it, they let the buyer deal with the cost, and keep making the same part that has the clearances of a wizards sleeve. or my ex mother inlaws back side. It would be interesting to see both pistons stock, and A.M. upside down on the table, side by side, and put 1 wrist pin thru both. I got a feeling the wrist pin wont go thru the next one due to the face being at a different height for the A.M. piston. and we know what complications that will bring, just one will be compression, valve clearance etc etc. if its a shorter piston, the notches on for the valves arent going to matter. that might be the reason why they dont need to be too accurate with the cut outs.
