I find this one of the more challenging albums from The Manhattan Transfer but the music making is very fine and I begin to get my ear into it and the more atonal sound world. Over fifty years they have produced such a substantial body of really interesting recordings. This is no exception.
@Stignatz Rare Silk came out in the 1980s. Their version is indeed beautiful, but I have to say I'm partial to this one. It's more melodically interesting.
Sorry, Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Was hoping for something fresh and interesting, got nauseating instead. If I was a rap fan, I wouldn't be clicking on MT in the first place.

I didn't know MT recorded this song. The Rare Silk version is the one that stays in my head. Al Jarreau's is jammin' too.
You must listen to that complete release. It is phenomenal. Plus Chick is all over it!
So fine🙌🏼💯🌹
@Stignatz
Thanks much for appreciating Rare Silk's version! (1983) ♥
I loved your whole New Weave album. Loved Spain, Joy, New York Afternoon, Sugar, Red Clay. Your version of Spain was the most exciting.

The ever versatile manhattan transfer
This version is nice but Rare Silk made my heart swing in the 80's
thanks Manhattan Transfer.....!
i've more collection from You...
Love the vocals! Really interesting changes. But a pseudo hip-hop beat? Not very original. I'd rather hear them burn it up with a smoking samba.
Wow! Thanks for the Rare Silk comment Stignatz.
Silly me. I must have meant 1970-something. Tempis really fugits when you're having fun, no?
I love M.T. but they don't do this tune the same justice that Rare Silk did in 1960! Check it out here to hear the difference... thanks!
The chick corea songbook, isnt it awesome?
Fuochino
I'd rather prefer star light junction's spain
