    Excellent stuff Dom!!
What a steady hand you have, you make it look so easy!
Probably my least favourite part of a Tamiya build in all honesty.... arthritic shaky fingers and dodgy eye sight don't help(I'm only 46!😬)
My worst part is doing the eyes, you should have seen how many times I had to re do my celica grb driver/navigators eye balls- it was actually so bad it was funny. 😂
My mate Taylor (who I started green hawks rc with) found my attempts highly amusing..... One minuit they looked like frankenstein, then they were cross eyed, then looking as if they had consumed copious quantities of amphetamine!!
Must have re painted them at least ten times, and still not entirely happy with the end result.... gutting when you have spent so much time and money on the restoration!
When I done the blackfoot build, I decided to just leave the eye balls out totally.... Hoping Ramblin Ron can forgive me! 🤣 😂 👍 👍 👍

😂I’ve had a few wierd looking drivers. Don’t worry and tbh you can’t see them anyway when they are rolling . I use to paint a lot of citadel minis so got use to the scale. I find bracing your painting hand really helps . My favourite part is actually the painting and decorating the bodies . Well bar running them.
But tbh the old Tamiya drivers don’t have very crisp lines which doesn’t help . Have you tried just using a sharpie for the pupils ? I use a dab of paint but that might work .
Also what paint do you use? I stopped using Tamiya x/ xf . I prefer the water based acrylics as they are much thinner so any mistakes can be painted over and you don’t loose details.
They can also be reactivitated briefly with water to brush out any brush lines .
Generally they hold well once cured . Not perhaps has much as oil based but the trade off is worth it imo 😊👍

Great advice mate, thanks for the very handy tips! 🙏
Yes, have been using the XF range, but will definitely give the water based a go on my next build.
Totally agreed with what you say about the vintage drivers, certainly doesn't help!
Yes, I'm a big fan of the paint markers.... especially the chrome one for the fine body detailing.
I think in all honesty I am getting to the age where I may need glasses.... Especially as I have to hold things so far away now/have a headtorch on.
Guess a trip to specs avers is on the cards! 🤣
Cheers again for the knowledge mate! 👍 👍 👍
