Loved the Grasshopper because it was the underdog compared to the more powerful Hornet. The Grasshopper was more stylish and cheaper than the Hornet so it always appealed to me more. My friend at the time boasted that his Hornet was faster but I didn't care.

I could swear as a kid Grasshopper was 4wd.

Sorry guy's but that one was kind of sucky boring, I consider both of those kits as toy grade

I don't think of the Hotshot line up as siblings the Hotshot is the father of the team and the Hotshot II and the Super Hotshot are the offspring, then you have the Block Head motors version I guess that's the nephew!!!

Back in the 80’s I had the Wild One (still have it in the loft), my best friend had the Grasshopper and his brother the Hornet; they upgraded to the Boomerang and Hotshot (they wanted 4WD), but I stuck with the Wild One…..

How robust has your Mini LMT been so far? Recently I've been getting all nostalgic about big tyre RC vehicles and fancy getting one. I wonder if Tamiya ever considered making a chassis like this and putting the Lunchbox body on it? That would make a great Lunchbox Evo!

Grasshopper was my first rc as well. My best Christmas present ever! Definitely was my red rider bb gun!! I had a lot of hours on that car and loved every minute.
