    Thanks for this video. I had a different problem with the cable, but I was able to understand how it worked from your video. Thanks again.

    Mission accomplished, I jerry rigged two screw with a small metal bracket, that is used to hang pictures with, just in front of the cable nipple so that it would hold the cable casing in place, problem fixed. Also my friend gave me a new flywheel with cable that is still in the box that I will use later if any of these components go bad. Thanks again. Great vid!

    Thanks just got a used one from my friend, I think it has 2 miles of use on it and it still has the protective plastic covering on the console. I am having the same problem. When I adjust the resistance I do not feel a change. I think it is stuck a level 2 resistance. Thanks for the video, I think I can fix it now because of your video.

      Eugene Stitt the eddy current piece is like $600. You can see it is incredibly easy to get apart. If I had been outside of any warranty / return period I would have just replaced the chincy plastic Y connector with a metal one. You could fab a new one out of a small piece of tube or a washer for next to nothing.

      Mike Wade found the problem a plastic bracket on the resistance motor that holds the resistance cable is cracked, I am going to try and make a bracket. Thanks for the response.

    I have a question about the bolt tension being too tight. I don't think we have to take it that far apart. Any ideas?
    Thank you

    Hi...great video ! I have a NordicTrack Se7i .... Is there any way to disassemble the Eddy Brake Flywheel and remove some magnets ? The idea is to lower the resistance (even at resistance level 1) in order to spin faster.... I can barely spin at 80 RPM for 10 seconds.....

  • @JohnPowersComedy
    @JohnPowersComedy ปีที่แล้ว

    That's all well and good, but how do you fix the issue??
    What's the point of taking it all apart if there's nothing you can do about the broken piece?

    • @agent6t8
      @agent6t8  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's been a while, I opted to return the bike under warranty at... SEARS! You can 3d print a copy, someone in my comments made her own fix, I'm sure you can get creative at a hardware store. This vid was to show you how to diagnose it, sorry.

    • @JohnPowersComedy
      @JohnPowersComedy ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the quick reply Mike! I just don’t want to take it apart without knowing I can fix the issue. Hopefully my little plastic piece is intact and I can simple reduce the tension a bit!

    • @agent6t8
      @agent6t8  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JohnPowersComedy Really, if that's the problem and you see how easy it is to get to it, you can probably experiment with anything to try to get it to work. Best of luck to you.

    How did you replace the broken plastic piece that you said was the problem?

    • @agent6t8
      @agent6t8  ปีที่แล้ว

      I just took it back to sears and exchanged it but I don't think thats an option anymore. I'm positive you could have a copy 3d printed or created put of sheet metal and small nuts.

    Were you able to find that plastic piece that was broken inside the magnetic wheel easy or did you have to rig something up? wish you would have filmed the inside :) good job BTW.

  • @resultsalliance

    Hi, Good job. You had success so I am writing to see if you can please help me. I can't seem to get it back together. The main axel (crank) broke so I ordered a new one. When I put it back together the pedals were parallel instead of opposite. The crank has a key grooves on each end and the pedal arms only fit one way. But when I put them on, the pedals are NOT 180 degrees apart, but the same level. Any ideas? What am I missing? Is it something obvious?? Maybe a pic of each side with the wheel hubcap removed might give me a clue?
    Thank you in advance for your help

    I got the same elliptical as your, does your make noise like sanding sound? Thanks

    • @agent6t8
      @agent6t8  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Something in it is rubbing, like a plastic cover. Unless the noise is accompanied by a weird sensation such as it being easier or harder to use, I would be worried. If not, should be good to go. Mine made that noise the entire time I owned it.

    to load the elliptical into a car, do you think it would be worth removing the flywheel? untensioning the belt, removing the brake cable, etc...?

    • @agent6t8
      @agent6t8  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends in how small you need it, but I would do as little disassembly as possible. I sold mine, and just rolled it outside on the wheels and loaded it into a trailer. Easy money!

    How did you fix the resistance? Did you fix the broken plastic piece?

    • @agent6t8
      @agent6t8  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That plastic piece is not sold separately, you have to buy the resistance drum from a parts store. I found one for $300 if I recall correctly, but mine had come from the factory broken so I just put it back together and took it back to Sears to get a different one.

      @@agent6t8 Okay. awesome! The right wheel will pick up and turn smoothly. The left however will not. If i get on it it's like i'm going skiing, nothing will pick up and turn. I have it all took apart right now. But 1 thing i did notice on the left is if i get off the elliptical, and try to turn the left side with my hands i have to push it hard up the ramp just to get it to go up and over. It's like the left rotation T bar that's attached to the arm can't make the full turn over without an extra hard push. It just goes up so far and stops. And Before it died on me the left part would Thump Thump Thump i could feel the Thump too. I can make a video if you want me too. On the right side where the tension belt is, it does feel really tight too.

      @@agent6t8 atm the moment i can't make a video but i will try later. I have double checked the right side. It flows perfectly. The left side however will not. It's gotta be in the left arm. Which way did he threads go on the shaft that the pedal (foot) is attached to? Was either side a reverse thread? I'm trying to get a bolt that screws into that shaft off and it's tough

    • @agent6t8
      @agent6t8  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ari Lukoff it has been almost a year since doing this, I don't recall any of the threads being reversed. More likely than not, the bolt is just really tight or may have some sort of side or torsion load on it.

    • @agent6t8
      @agent6t8  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately in this situation, no. The cable does not have the piece that breaks, its the small plastic piece the cable connects to. Of course they don't sell it invidually, you have to buy the entire assembly.

    Mike we have the same small plastic part that failed. Did you buy just that small part in the wheel assembly that the adjustment cable ties to? If so where did you get just that one little part? Thank you sir.

    • @agent6t8
      @agent6t8  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I ended up returning the unit and getting a new one. You can buy one from an equipment repair vendor. They are pricey, like half the cost of a new machine.

    • @fingerlakesfishing
      @fingerlakesfishing 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Mike Wade Thank you sir. I was hoping to get that one small plastic part. I might take it to my machine shop and see if they can make one out of aluminum. It’s though to trash the whole machine for a part the size of a nickel. I appreciate your reply.

    • @agent6t8
      @agent6t8  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You are absolutely right. I think something could be rigged pretty easily so long as it performs the same function. It was pretty upsetting to see such a terrible design in an otherwise decent machine. I am thoroughly surprised there is no recall or extended warranty
