Not a dumb question at all. I would look to see if Andis has a decent clipper trimmer combo- I believe they usually sell the andis envy clipper with the andis t outliner in a package. Not sure how much that runs price wise since everything is ridiculous now. The other trusty combo would be a wahl magic clip with the wahl trimmers. Both those sets are good quality. You can always go cheaper and do the Walmart type bundles but the trimmers likely won’t be able to be zero gapped, thus it may lake that “crispy” edge. Otherwise I would recommend buying a decent priced clipper and a separate trimmer. What I have is pretty legit. The wahl magic clip and the andis styliners. Cost me about 150 total- but lasted me about 8 years now
