One question can you figure out how to work the creature when you hold E is says Load creature or something like that, when i tried i was seeing if i could load animals that were water could you do some more testing. Also why did you post at 1 am like!!!!!!!
I really wish they added a primitive saddle and then work your way up to the submarine saddle

It’s pretty funny how a futuristic Tek Submarine doesn’t even have engines to be a standalone vehicle so it has to dangle awkwardly from a shastasaur 😂
This is a really cool tameing method, finally gives the icthy something special
Ichthy is the fastest water mount with some of the best turning of any water mount, with rider weaponry

I’m so glad to see an Ichthyosaur species besides the standard one. The fact that it’s also a whale-sized one is even better.
The submarine saddle is also super cool. I just wish you could have them separate, with a combination being optional.
I’m pretty sure you can ride it without a saddle if that helps

Okay, I'll admit. That taming process is nice and actually gives you a reason to now tame a creature that I definitely wouldn't ever tame otherwise.
Ark is such a fever dream game at times. I love how you literally have a whole ass submarine connected to the dinosaurs underbelly and are controlling the sub via the dino XD

They had issues with UE5 switching plains between water and land and the potentially having land plains on top of each other with the saddle on top. So to remove the issues they essentially made it so that the land plains could never overlap and put it under the Shast instead
They have trash programmers that's why they couldn't put it on the back

Man I really wish they had chosen any other design for the submarine, but I also really like your idea of the sub being able to decouple. Maybe we can just ask wildcard to add that function to the saddle so the goofy proportions make sense 😂

They could have made the submarine and left out the Shasta, and it would actually be better overall.
The Shasta carrying a sub underneath is pointless, and should be able to be used alone.
The Shasta, well, it's a big Icthy. The only reason it exists is because Wildcard oversold their ability to make something new.
Dude it’s a dinosaur game. They didn’t “oversell” anything they just added another prehistoric animal. Nothing in the entire game is “new”

You can board dinos into the saddle from the radial wheel. Doesn't seem to work on rexs or flyers.

This is gonna make underwater bases and such so much more fun. And the saddles gonna make underwater resource gathering so much easier. Also love that we now have another reason to tame an Ichthy.
I think for creature storage a surface saddle would have been a lot better or even a choice to be on the top or bottom

I like this cute taming method, especially as I usually entirely skip Icthys when it comes to water tames. I know that they had difficulty with the saddle, but...the original concept saddle was miles better, for sure. I do like that this will hopefully add a lot more life and activity to the ocean, since it was always underutilized. I'm always a fan of huge, slow tames at least 🐋

that submarine underneath the creature looks kinda weird unlike any existing saddle in the game
Just an added tip for extra safety, bug repel works for manta rays as well, so if take some repel that's one less threat to worry about.

@@timothissimo well to be fair he has a point, in ASE currently there are absolutely no DLC locked tamable creatures, Fjordur free DLC has most DLC dinos in it.

I'm against what they did for the Pyromane
I let it slide for the Oasisaur because it wasn't a pvp oriented creature and it's supposed to be a 3 part dlc when Ab and Ex releases

The island alone had almost 130 tameable creatures
At least 70 of them was actually in the game when it released and patched in
Every single story map have unique tames that are locked behind a paywall and didn't get unlocked until roughly 6 months later when a free map like Ragnarok Valgareo and Lost island released
Wyverns Golems Reapers Owls and Shadowmanes are very pvp and pay to win until they were accessible to the non paying players and now getting to my point
And when ASE was coming to it's end and the creature votes were happening WE WERE TOLD AND MADE CLEAR that all votes winners would be free
Amarg Dinopithecus Carchar Gigantoraptor and now Shasta all free like promise

I mean, at that point they might have been better off just adding a stand alone submarine. They're pretty hesitant with mechanical vehicles.

Hold on because I'm confused, wasn't it a thing that Shasta was originally supposed to be the creature for The Center, but then they changed it so it would be the creature for Ragnarok instead and made GigaRaptor the new creature for The Center because apparently they wanted to work a bit more on Shasta to touch it up, but now it's back to what it used to be???

A species of Shastasaurus, S. Sikanniensis is a whooping 69 ft long and 81 tons. So this version could be based off the largest subspecies of Shastasaurus

I wish they kept the saddle above it. Now if you want to transport dinos in it you just need cryos to do it easily, which kind of defeats the purpose. I can also imagine how the saddle is put might cause mesh problems
This tame is more realistic and life like, u don’t have to beat it nearly to death, and when it wakes up it realises that it’s your best friend and will trust it’s life to u

I hoped for a more basic saddle tbh. I mean, besides the submarine one. Maybe for who is not interested to go around with it and just want ride the dino without other stuff. I hope they'll add it in a future update. After all, not everyone is interested in platform saddles (or submarine, in this case).
The taming method seems pretty chill, not bad.
But what matters is that nothing aggroes on this thing. Imagine if it dies when you have some stuff in your submarine.
I wish there was a separate saddle without the submarine attached also, I bet modders are gonna make a better design for the submarine saddle than the actual devs lol

While the actual shastasaurus is really cool, the actual saddle is incredibly disappointing. It just kind of dangles there looking like it's about to fall off at any moment. Don't know why they just didn't give it the saddle in the concept or at least work off it.

Question from a noob: can this tame be transferred somehow to the Island? I heard that obelisks don’t support cryopod transfers, and it must be cryopodded to be put into obelisk. So no way?
The design of the saddle isnt my favorite, it is such a small attachement point for something so large

My guess for why the moved the saddle under the Shasta is cause the game would break if the saddle went above the water

So this taming Is it harder or easier? Because honestly, if it's harder, then I'll try. But if it's easier, I can accept it, but I am really looking forward to entertaining this creature building in a submarine base which sounds awesome
