This is probably pointless to say at this point, but I'd recommend putting down a baby marker whenever you see one that you can't get to yet or markers for certain items/poi's. I sure as hell needed it. *edit: nvm you literally started doing it in this video 😅
Yep; the guy you fight is basically stuck in a scenario not too different from Ted in _I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream_ , where he isn't in control of his body, and spends most of his time trapped inside of his flesh, forced to watch the world through the eyes of his transformed body, but unable to keep himself from killing. By putting him down, you're performing a mercy kill.
Yes, this game has hidden walls, I recommend checking everything. Also Nacimiento upgrades are tricky. I kind of forgot that he takes away a flask when he enhances the power of the flask, so I upgraded a couple of times without thinking and ended up with fewer flasks that I would prefer.
For future reference, the wall between Albero and the Cistern could have been broken from both sides, allowing access to the Cistern at the very start of the game.
One important advice when it comes to ladders: try passing THROUGH ladders while holding up and you'll grab them easily. If you try to just grab them upon slight contact it will fail most of the time. I learned this the hard way. You can also slide down the ladders, forgot which button was it though.
I actually like that your webcam is lower quality, fits this game's wacky artstyle well. Also that golden skull in a dream really gave me Uka Uka vibes from crash bandicoot lmao
Hi! In the snowy mountain section, there are jumps you can only do if you jump when the wind blows in the same direction you want to go. Also, I recommend trying to hit all walls you encounter, as there's a lot of secret passages that are only revealed that way.
Yeah another Round! Love that Mapo chooses all this good titles to play, this channel will be soooooooo great in a couple of years. I really appreciate your Work Mapo, thank you ❤
@@emmanuelbustos2693 the snow area is difficult right now. He needs to upgrade a lil I hope he continues this I want him to finish this one so he can start the second game it’s more fun and a bit easier.
Candelaria has a super cool accent in the spanish voices which you never hear in spanish dubs for not being "standard enough". The game, having been made by mostly an andalusian (southern spanish region) team, has a lot of andalusian cultural influences, like the music, architecture and even most characters come from andalusian popular and catholic folklore (the Penitent One's helmet being the typical "capirote" worn by the "nazarenos" and penitents during the holy week's processions). Candelaria has a very thick andalusian accent, sings verses from popular andalusian "coplas" and uses some words that are from the calé vocabulary, meaning words from the andalusian romani language. Gitanos (romani people) are very integrated in andalusian culture and many of the most famous andalusian musicians are of romani heritage.
Yeah, the game actually tries to bait you into striking one early on with a destructible lamp right in front of it, but it seems Mapo is not going the good old Zelda "let's break everything that is not nailed down" route ^^. He'll figure it out eventually

48:29 yea, this game is definitely style over substance, not because substance is severely lacking, but because style is so over-the-top

Just jump WITH the wind, not against it, it will give you acceleration. Also, many secret walls are missed, just strike everything wall you see)
"Ten Piedad" means "Have Mercy"

No, it means "Las diez tartas del Padre"
so?
damn usually at least at some point jumps coincide with the wind and it "clicks" for the player 😞mapo got unlucky
He even mentioned the wind right at the start and I was like, oh good he figured it out. Nope lmao.

Unfortunate that the wind wasn't in his favor each time he tried that jump, or else it might have clicked what he needed to do.
SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOOOOOOOOT

Every time I see mapo playing a platformer, I say to myself: he would love the ori games
I'm loving the playthrough so far, keep up the good work ❤
Mercy dreams ambient music is one of my favourites
Cantes de Confession?
Yea Blasphemous is my comfort game
The bell ringer enemies echo a mechanic/enemy design from Bloodborne, that’s all I’m going to say.
You should remember to hit walls and use map markers
It'll help a lot later
Its always funny seeing how english-speaking youtubers pronounce "Ten Piedad" 😆 Loving the playthrough, Blasphemous is such a great game
The boss' lore is that he's a dad who won a pie eating contest.
Metroidvainia 101: Attack every wall.
Try Spanish voiceovers - I guarantee, u will be immersed in the world even more. They are just perfect and unforgettable.
Definitely. It's just, the definitive experience
Play Yakuza 0 mapo, its great!
Seconded
29:00 Not the Fable reference!

Whacky style? Are you nuts? Its just sprites and everything is top notch on point

Nacimiento means literally “Birth”
love your videos!
The "Ten Piedad" boss must have been inspred by Michelangelo's statue of Mary and Jesus (Pietá) in the Vatican.
“Prie Dieu” means “Pray God” in French for those wondering
Sure it means "Pray to God", but the game is referring to a praying desk.
Mapocolops
Mapo. You already have what you need! Use the WIND on the snowy area to your advantage to angle your jumps and to reach the walls.
Can't wait for the next episode, you're gonna love some boss battles!
Gemino 😢
