One of the easiest melodies I learned on the C flute was the opening theme to the Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. It was also my favorite to play. My marching band director just about murdered me after playing it for the 200th time during warm-up, though!
I’ve never realized that this melody was so simple at its core. Even in this beginner video, it feels so powerful. Simplicity really is the best way to go sometimes!
Any melody is this simple if you remove 90% of the notes. Those notes in the video are actually two keys in the score, not just one and that's just the right hand, the left hand is doing the bass notes. It's not this simple, but it is if you just want to play one note of it at a time lol.
theres so, so much music that's just lost to time because no one thought to save the notes, or they were burned, destroyed, or just never even written down. thousands of years of music we don't know about. It's wild to think that we could be hearing something new to us, but was some random guys' piano back in the 1600's. Music, like love, transcends time.
For those who want to play but don’t know which keys to start on: 1. On the piano, the groups of black keys alternate. 3 then 2 so on and so fourth. 2. Find a group of 2. On the left of the first black key is a white key named C and on the right of the second black key is an E. In the middle is D. In the video, this means that number 5 is E and number 3 is C. 3. In between the groups there are what I call: the best friends. The best friends have no black key in between them. They also repeat in groups. They are B and C (between both groups with 3 keys on the left and 2 keys on the right) as well as E and F (groups of 2 on the right and group of three on the left) 4. This brings us down to your left hand playing the lower keys. Find best friends E and F and you are there! Hope this helps!
Your piano has groups of black keys that alternate between 2 and 3 black keys. The white key directly at the beginning of a group of 2 black keys is always a C. the notes on a piano go A,B,C,D,E,F,G and back to A. Using BK for Black Key, your piano goes C, BK, D, BK, E, F, BK, G, BK, A, BK, B, and back to C
@@duckster_playz531 No shit, but still bullshit. The right hand plays the melody which is 1 note at a time even if it's off screen. So if he is recording his left hand it should be chords based on what you hear not single notes.
@Badmansband That's not how he's presenting the video. He's presenting it like he's playing the entire piano part. I've seen this exact video before. This post isn't even the original upload.
@@mosley3485 you're leaving out the droning E note. If you think of it as an arpeggiated chord progression, you get the notes F-A-E, G-B-E, A-C-E, and G-D-E. So maybe Fmaj7 to Em to Am to G6?

@johnmchakeres .. thanks for your comment, ´want reply. First time I heard INTERSTELLAR not by Hans Zimmer and his orchestra but for me in a weird ecxiting way. A few years ago fingerstyle player Eiro Nareth released a cover of this, playing on a 12 string in his bedroom in St. Petersburg, Russia, only with mics. At that time I know just a little about fingerstyle, it blowed me away, couldn´t believe ... On Eiro´s website you can see a small thin man, very very shy but, when he starts playing acoustic he develops a dynamic and power, not using pickups ... ´haven´t seen that with other acoustic players. In comments some people said he is the "one-man-band", replacing with his technique an entire orchestra. I could hardly belive that he is self-taughted but I think this is possible. Some of his guitars are from the US. By delivering a Mc Pherson Carbon Guitar he released a comment on insta "well, this is the most beautiful instrument I received in a while". Later he introduced that guitar on a vid, speaking much better English than I (need translater of google) . Now, the vid is no longer online. Since January Eiro isn´t releasing again, `don´t know if anything` s happened to him... for many Russians love him, are proud of him ... but, in Russia currently artists have a different status than servants in their army .....
